  1. Move Maverick and Bronco Sport to Louisville and BEV(s) to Hermosillo?
  2. Is it just me or does the new BMW concept look like an 8-bit Lincoln Zephyr? https://www.autoblog.com/2023/09/02/bmw-vision-neue-klasse-revealed-munich-motor-show/
  3. I bet they’re being too literal - as someone who went from and Edge to a Mach-E, I could see them arguing it is the replacement, even if not an exact one.
  4. I wonder how likely it is new vinyl will match old vinyl, and how long 3M will produce matching vinyl.
  5. The price is pretty reasonable too - I’ve seen people spend that much on just a wrap without all the other unique features.
  6. Is the wrap intended to be permanent? I wonder if panels are wrapped prior to installation. Curious how collision repair will be handled.
  7. Yesterday was my one year anniversary with my Lightning. Just over 17k miles. I’ve taken it to Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Total charging cost: $1,268. A similar gas F150 would have used nearly $4k in gas. Average charge time (public/fast charging) was 27.54 minutes.
  8. I think this LC and previous LC target different demographics. This one to me is a 4Runner by another name.
  9. They’re a good first car too if they’re responsible enough to keep charged.
  10. I read someone say it looks like it’s made of legos, and it kind of does.
  11. Have you heard of the Ford Bronco? (I do wish they had a fixed top Bronco). Does this replace 4Runner?
  12. Awful. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. I just saw a corvette someone had done this too - it was a modernish vette with an 53 front clip and rear, and it was ridiculous. Looked like China tried making a corvette.
  13. Yes, my experience is the exception rather than yours. You know, seeing as how I actually regularly charge a BEV and all. Clearly you have a more scientific point of view.
  14. I’ve owned an EV for over two years and the vast majority of my charging has NOT been in a big city.
  15. I’m still supposed to get a 23, but Ford wants me to order a 24 just in case.
  16. All EVs have onboard chargers. The onboard charger is used for all AC charging.
  17. The one by me is walking distance to a PF Chang’s, a local pub, and a Chuck Lagers. The one next to the EA I use in south bend is at a mall so there is a food court and some other outlot restaurants. I usually hit five guys when I’m there. The one by our cottage is at a Panera.
  18. Rivian has been building out an exclusive charging network (using a standard CCS plug) but has announced they will be opening it to others. There is a legitimate safety concern while charging as there is no way to drive away while plugged in. Someone recently came out with an adapter for Teslas that allows them to breakaway.
  19. Some. My Lightning has the best AM reception of any vehicle I’ve owned. I get zero interference. My Mach-E had good AM reception. It would occasionally get interference, but mainly when trying to pull in weak signals, and I still used it a lot. Some EVs have significant interference, not all, and I suspect it’s an engineering exercise that was just overlooked in those cases.
  20. Doesn't Ford have a patent on it? That’s my understanding.
  21. The keypad makes phone as key work imho. On both my old Mach-E and my Lightning I’ve only used my fob on the first drive home and for service. Keypad ensures that if my phone dies/breaks/lost I can still get in my car. Love the keypad, though I prefer the “hidden” look on the Mach-E to the “squishy” buttons on the Lightning.
  22. Getting tired of waiting on the Maverick. May consider switching to Ranger if price is right (and I can convince the wife).
  23. I’ve been sick of people thinking every Ford is made in Mexico. Prepare for them to think they’re all made in China. Sharp looking car though.
