  1. SOOOO...they asked the whole plant....except you? They were forcing low seniority from B crew and may do the same for A crew. Sounds like you want the downtime and don't want to work...
  2. If your worried about loosing your sub-weeks then work your downtime. They are asking people from all shifts to come in on their downtime. I worked my two weeks of layoff...and they asked me to work the next two when they come up again.
  3. Because 90% of the old workers are on jobs where they don't do much??
  4. Yeah, tell me about it...We don't even have enough room on the floor for the new Raptor parts...What a total waste of design...
  5. CRAP!! Those were the ones I liked the most, nice beefy tire/rim combo. Go figure...The ONE set of tires actually made for a truck and NO ONE is ordering them! I guess that still says a lot about who is buying the trucks.
  6. Not so hard anymore...When we had the shift reduction at DTP last year, I got laid off and lost my product specialist job...Now I'm just a line grunt again, as much in the dark as everyone else.
  7. ...And gas was over $4.00 a gallon. Since the price of gas has come down to more normal levels, Focus have dropped back to lower numbers. They are making more then enough with two shifts now. Building 2,3 or 4 different models out of MAP is the only thing that will sustain three shifts...Unless gas goes back above the $4 mark.
  8. Just hope you get someone from THIS country. I have talked to service reps that had NO idea what I was trying to explain to them.
  9. You have never seen the box secure robots in our plant then. They were put in to replace two workers...Now when the robots run we have those two people down there as well as IT guys and trades to make sure the box is being secured correctly.
  10. I think it's the "hunter" station next to line 7. The lift to lift the truck is a "4 post" lift.
  11. Should be this week...We just called MARVIN last week.
  12. As was said above...The rouge tour. You can get tickets at the Henry Ford here: http://www.thehenryford.org/rouge/index.aspx We are having some down time coming up, so after April there won't be a shift working on the weekends.... And also if your a Star Trek fan... http://www.sciencedetroit.org/startrek.html
  13. Thats one image I'll NEVER get rid of....Thanks a lot asshole...
  14. It's funny though, that two years or so AFTER Ford announced it was going with the three bar grill as a "corporate" image...Three bar grills started popping up on everything from toyota.
  15. And how much would that be....Will $8 or $9/hr make you happy?? Seriously, you are a bitter unhappy person who's only joy in life comes from TRYING to belittle the hourly workers at Ford. Sure, ANYONE would line up a for ANY job to make even $14/hr(says a lot about our current economy)....But how many would stick around if thats all they would ever make (especially at an auto plant). You always cry about "fair" market rates...Okay, but lets compare apples to apples...Why not tell me how much auto workers make around the world. I'm sure you will find with the exception of some countries (China, Mexico) that the base wage is very close. Hell, If you don't like the UAW you will REALLY hate the auto unions in Japan. And no, I won't respond again...Unlike you I have said all I need to. I also know you will reply to this topic and any that talk about the union, since you will be busted if you go into the employee forum again.
  16. There is no solution...The consumers that were buying are now looking for jobs or saving every penny for fear of losing their job. It's going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better.
  17. Looks like toyota won't be alone... http://www.thestreet.com/story/10467556/1/...from-japan.html "Honda(HMC Quote - Cramer on HMC - Stock Picks), which saw its U.S. auto sales in February fall 38%, may ask to borrow money from Japan's government, and Mazda may do the same, a report says."
  18. Wow...Just, WOW...The only handout I saw before leaving work on Thursday said that the union meeting for Saturday had been cancelled. Never once saw or heard any info about the vote. Hope the news was wrong...
  19. Find me another company that lays it's employees off as much as Ford (and the big 3)...And expects them to come back to work. Seriously...How many companies out there lay off employees 5-10-20 weeks a year? When most companies have a layoff...it really means "your fired".
  20. 52 weeks-20+years 36 weeks-10-20 26 weeks-1-10 years
