  1. It’s an example of trying to be different for different’s sake, which hasn’t gone that well.
  2. Either you need to have your eyes checked or you just gaslighting everyone. That thing is hideous and not even remotely in the same hemisphere as the Model 3 aesthetically.
  3. Yes, this seems completely unnecessary to me. I would like to see this in action to see if it is as cumbersome as it seems it would be.
  4. As an American company, I actually do want Tesla to be successful, but this thing is different just to be different, and not in a good way. It doesn’t seem to be doing truck things very well based on the limited information that’s been available so far.
  5. I’ll believe this when I see it. IMO, this is a great product that covers all the bases for the transition to BEVs. It has good electric range and ICE for those areas that have poor charging infrastructure. Kuniskis is right about eliminating range anxiety with this setup, and it doesn’t lack performance. If the price is right, I think they will sell a ton of these.
  6. So, the distrust is based on Ford’s EV sales strategy. For example, tying Ford specialty vehicle allocation to dealerships’s EV sales. I can see why something like that would generate distrust.
  7. I like it. The profile looks very sharp to me. I was a big fan of the 4th gen, 91-96. Other than the 4th generation, the rest of the gens didn’t appeal to me until this concept.
  8. Haha, I don’t mind. Since the truck uses Raptor headlights, it does look like a Raptor light with those wheels. I do think it looks good and I’m glad the setup is meeting your expectations. However, I’m still looking forward to the supercharger setup? I read there’s a new Ford Performance 800hp setup now for Mustangs so maybe one for the F150 down the road…
  9. I don’t see how they won’t have to raise the costs of vehicles to cover this. It’s either coming from their margin or they are raising prices. I don’t disagree the approval rate is alarming.
  10. Do you think the wording, “…will continue through its planned product lifecycle,” like the Escape and Corsair for example, gives them the flexibility to extend the life of the product and not replace it with an EV until it’s determined to be the appropriate time? That wording is vague to me.

  12. I would not pay $50k for an Equinox. That vehicle has never been at that price point and I would be very concerned about resale on top of it. They should have made it a new model as far as I’m concerned.
  13. Certainly appears that it will benefit the coasts where the EV density is greater, most likely due to better public charging infrastructure. So now more specialty allocation will go to the coasts where dealers love ADMs costing the consumers more. My dealer didn’t know what the impact was going to be since the policy hasn’t started yet, but he didn’t like the implications. I think it’s a terrible plan and I hope it costs them sales. I think Midwest dealership organizations should be raising alarms about this change, and should consider legal action as far as I’m concerned. They are likely going to be the most affected since EV density is probably the lowest.
  14. I read on Ford Raptor Forum that Raptor allocation would be tied to the dealership’s EV sales. I reached out to my dealer to verify, and he said beginning in Q1 all specialty allocation will be tied to EV sales volume. What a brilliant F’n plan by Ford to screw customers.
  15. I recently paid $40.81 for 83.75 kwh. That was $31.83 at 38kwh plus a $8.98 charge for time on the charger.
  16. I had the Taurus version of the 500 for around 65k miles for a work car. Although the looks of the car were very average, the car was bulletproof, very comfortable to drive, and had a ton of room. Had its looks been better, they probably would’ve sold a lot more vehicles. I recognize you are referencing the the 500, which the Taurus was derived from, but it was far from a turd.
  17. That’s not exactly my situation. My Mach E is a work car that I have to charge publicly by company policy, so I am unable to charge at home. I get the full experience of the public charging environment, which in my area is far from adequate, and that is what lead to my charge being that low since I had to travel extra distance to get to the fast charger.
  18. Besides the fact that Tesla is the most recognized and mainstream BEV, most people I know consider Tesla as a luxury vehicle. Whether everyone thinks that or not, I believe it is another factor that helps Tesla sell vehicles.
  19. I was really worried about needing to call a tow truck yesterday for the Mach E. It was VERY close.
  20. It’s primarily going to be charging at home. At best, employers in my area might have two chargers, most which are not fast chargers.
  21. Yes it will be interesting to see what happens with your plant. Things seemed to really be up in the air now.
  22. Ultimately the Edge should not have been cancelled and subsequently updated or replaced. You don’t have to change the frame every 5 years to improve a vehicle. Changing the sheetmetal and the interior will sufficiently make it a new vehicle. Enhanced drivetrains would be icing on the cake. A similar strategy sure seems to have worked for Toyota. I mean they do have the Chinese Edge that could be used, although they would need to change that ugly kick up in the rear beltline and probably take it back to two rows.
  23. Perhaps they should take that $12 billion and invest in existing models to make them better as well as additional ICE/hybrids that people do actually want to buy. When the Edge departs it will be one less option and a bit of slim pickings as far as I’m concerned. This situation isn’t that surprising to me, plus it will give time for the tech and infrastructure to improve. The 2% battery life I had left on the Mach E today trying to get to a public charging station was very unnerving. I passed plenty of gas stations enroute…
  24. Ford has some really despicable people working for them. This strike has been pretty enlightening in a negative way.
  25. Dude should go fucking work somewhere else. If he thinks he’s worth more than that, go find it. Nobody is making him stay at Ford. The company is under no obligation to pay him or anybody else what they want to be paid. People like that piss me off. I can only imagine the quality of work a guy like that will put out with all of his bitterness.
