  1. I don't have a Fusion, so I'm only going by general troubleshooting skills. Does the window just "creep" down on you? Like really slowly where you don't notice it? That to me would mean something mechanical like the motor. If you actually hear the motor just briefly engage to drop, to me that means electronics like the window switch. Just spit balling here...
  2. I think if the Explorer is going to stick around for awhile in gas/hybrid form, it should be moved to the T6 platform. Merge the engineering with the Everest. Especially if the Mustang dumps the CD6 parts. Makes no sense to keep a single vehicle like the Explorer on a lone platform. Seems like the Everest can do everything the Explorer is doing. Just add some North American touches. Just like the Ranger situation. Not unless Ford decides to expand CD6 into a Edge replacement. But I don't see that option happening. C2 platform makes more sense for an Edge replacement. IMO of course...
  3. The main issue with that system wasn't the belt. It was the belt tensioner. That craps out before the belt. It then shreds the belt.
  4. Kinda stupid testing. Lets beat the crap of this and see what breaks. But on the other hand, the $100k truck broke much sooner than it should have. I think when his ass end dropped hard on those culverts, he probably cracked the back end then. When he put some stress on it when pulling the Ford, it gave way.
  5. I'd be suprised if PPOB makes it on this vehicle. Just too small of a platform. They're already putting the 12V battery in the back seat. Not sure where they'd shoe horn that in. Plus I've only seen PPOB available on the 10 speed transmission vehicles. The C2 hybrids are built different with e-CVT. It would have to be a whole new system. Not that I wouldn't like to see that available...
  6. If they are going to kill the Escape (something with more brand history than the BS), Ford better upscale the interior quality on the top end BS models. Escape interior quality is much better than the BS.
  7. They probably haven't lost money, but I'm betting it's no where near a cash cow like the F150 is. I'm betting it's more like Costco's rotisserie chickens, if you know what I mean....
  8. I"m not saying Ford would quit building vehicles for export. Just quit selling Fords in China.
  9. So back on Topic. Is Ford actually making money in China? Enough to add to their bottom line? If not, get out while you can is my opinion.
  10. Current trucks started in 1986. So 37 years. Article is off by nearly a decade. And yes, butt ugly. But they'll have no excuse for not being able to see out the front. I wonder how those will cope with North Dakota winters and heating? Big a$$ windshield can't be easy to keep defrosted.
  11. Got the same notice for my 2020 Escape. Haven't called to make an appointment yet.
  12. It was that Fairbanks engine I was thinking of. But I haven't heard of any progress on the Achates Power design being put into production either.
  13. I can remember 5-8 years ago I think, Ford was working on a reciprocating engine to be a range extender for the F150. Can't find anything on that though. It was similar to a hydraulic piston going back and forth.
  14. With those wheels, I'm guessing the plug in hybrid. But I'm not seeing a plug in port. I like the lights, but prefer the current grille.
  15. One thing I'm noticing is the article claims "EV's". Is the Chinese built Nautilus an "EV" being a hybrid? They don't really spell it out, but it implies fully electric vehicles getting the tariff. No mention of hybrids.
  16. I was actually referring to the Speedo Cluster. On all the Escapes, except fleet, they are full LCD. After a quick search, I see a few Maverick owners have swapped it in. So it does fit. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/full-digital-gauge-cluster-from-ford-escape-swap-into-maverick.9506/
  17. I'm not sure. But now that I look at it, I think the Maverick is sharing the speedo with the Bronco Sport. I don't see a full LCD on the BS. I guess sharing it with the BS does make some sense.
  18. 2.3 EB was axed in FWD configurations. So I'd be surprised if that showed up. Not unless Ford built the Mustang's updated 2.3 EB with FWD in mind. Personally I think Ford would more likely put a different tune in a 2.0 EB at most. If they keep it consistent with Escape names, it'll probably be just ST-Line. The part I don't understand about the Maverick, is why they didn't put in the Escape's full LCD screen. I get Maverick is made cheaper, but in Lariat, they should have. I mean parts are right there.
  19. That was corrected by 2019 model year I believe. BTW, I sold my 2013 Escape with 2.0EB last summer. 80k miles. No coolant issues...
  20. If you do replace the battery yourself, there is a Battery Management system (BMS) that needs to be reset. That way the vehicle knows you have a new battery and treats the charging differently than an old battery.
  21. I don't have any first hand experience. But I've watched a few YT videos of various mechanics using various similar products. These were done on the 4 cylinder Escape models. But I'm sure the F150 would be the same. Liquids appears to produce weak results. What seems to work best is removing the intake and walnut blasting. Or one video I saw, they used a bunch of zip ties on a drill to act as a scrubber and clean it up. From the before/after pictures, those did a way better job. But I would think you want that injector replaced first. Just my 2 cents.
  22. You have frost on the windshield when that is lit? If it is lane centering, and the camera is covered (located behind your inside mirror), it could trigger that. I had that happen on the company Escape. But the Escape was the a stripper model. Lower than the SE. But it did have that warning when I couldn't reach the camera to scrape the frost off. Being a stripper, didn't have your digital dash.
