I believe one of the big reasons that 2 doors aren't popular anymore is kids car seats... when you get married and have kids the mustang usually gets replaced with something bigger Back in the day you could tell the kids just to get in the back and that was the end of it so 2 doors were fine, but now you have to strap your kids into 20 point harness's untill they are ready for college which is a real pain with a 2 door. So when a majority of people start buying 4 doors instead of 2 doors the 2 door dies....

My family had three tempos. my dads first tempo had 170K trouble free miles until it rotted out. He then bought a used one and drove it to 150K before selling it. I bought mine off of my grandmother with a bad trans at 126K, a junkyard trans and I drove it to 167K before I rolled it on an icy road .... still ran great when scrapped Now my dads 95 F250... that was another story

wow.... that would trully have to be a david and goliath point of view.... but this guy probably still thinks that the daimler takeover was a merger and that chrysler gladdly handed over all of their cash to help out their new partner.... some people over there have had a little to much kool-aid...

I hope that it is more "seamless" than my 2002 escape... in the auto setting on a snowy/icy road the rear end would dance as it engaged/disengaged, very uneasy feeling, but the 2002 still had the option for full time 4x4, turn the knob and with it locked in it would go straight down the road. When I was looking to replace it I saw that the newer ones didn't get the "full 4x4 knob" and that automatically removed the escape from my shopping list. If the rest of the AWD's work like that then I would avoid them....

I actually like the "americanized" nose better... not big on the giant grill opening with a big black chunk of plastic sticking out of the middle of it. just looks like the trim fell off or something....

Yep... its all about the aerodynamics.... unfortunatly ugly will be the new styling trend with everyone trying to improve fuel economy. ... it started with the prius, then the minivan windsheild on the civic... its all down from here... the sad part is that right now all trucks are ugly and it is going to get much worse before it gets better....

ya... the challanger is a big hit.... the dealer by my place has the same 8-9 that have been on the lot for the past 2-3 months... but they look great with the 100 or so chargers they have stacked like cord wood on the lot... not sure what they plan on doing with them but they have even given up on washing them...and they are starting to look rough...

everyone has there story's.... we had three tempo's in my family .. all 89-90's... one ran great when it was retired at 170K because michigan winter ate it alive. the replacement was sold with 160K on it...and the one I had I bought from my grandma, the trans had never been serviced and it went out at 115. A junkyard tranny and it went to 170K when I rolled it into a ditch on an icy morning. right now my cavalier Z24 has 205K on it with no major issues. MY brother just sold his 94 escort with 250K on it .... again because of michigan winters the car had become unsafe for highway use... lots of people have good stories and lots of people have bad stories.... basically ...on average most cars are good with a small percentage of lemons.... the domestics percentiges were just a little higher which was enough to give them a bad rap.... And to the panther mafia... me and my dad both replaced our tempos with panthers... engines were solid... AOD's suck and the electronics sucked... so I never found panthers to be overly reliable... everone has a story

why would you want to be forced out for a shutdown.. I would rather just have 2 weeks vacation when I wanted it not when they told me to take it.... and wasn't the point of shutdown for the model year changeover... so if everything is carryover then do they shut down for nothing and I like my cubical... not much to look at but it beats beating myself up doing real work....

I hate when these people judge anything based on subjective things... I don't really care what "texture" the dash has.. I care more about the ergonomics then the feel of the interior and I think most americans are the same way, only car buffs get into minor details like that. And as usual they make it sould like everyone is buying a new vehicle so they can go and run a road coarse. ohh these article irritate me

it would be so much easier if we just declared canada and mexico as the 51st and 52nd states... that way this issue would be resolved along with immigration and all of the illegals crossing the border... :wacko:

from the person that I got those picture from it was supposedly B100 and at 20 degrees not 50..my mistake...but this is the biggest problem I have heard about with bio....

well if only they could keep it from doing this at 50 degrees....

wow that looks good... and it looks to be based on the explorer/sport trac ... I think thats the direction for ford should go in... with a diesel option I would be extremely interested....

i'm with you.... I have a CD's and always have one ready incase the radio is boring me... as of now I won't pay for satalite and I have dial up at home so trying to download music is far to time consuming.... If I didn't have internet at work you wouldn't see me here and I wouldn't be surfing the web... actually my truck and car both have the old dual media player with CD and tape deck ... and I have taps in them.... i'm the oldest quarter aged guy you'll meet .. I don't have time to play with computers, I don't want all the goofy little gadgets that new cars are coming out with, i don't have any mp3 players of any sort... I got a cell phone a few years ago because my friends refused to call the house to tell me where the party was going to be at :tequila: . the most advanced thing I think I have is a PS2... and the only reason I bought that was I was injured and was layed up for a while and it gave me something to do...

yep... thats what I keep telling the wife... she complains about the price of gas but she won't get rid of her truck and it would be stupid to make a payment and insurance over paying more for gas... and I was just on that site the other day... I was comparing a 5 year old taurus vs. 4cyl fusion vs. a jetta TDI... then did some searching and i could get the taurus for 6K.. the fusion for $16K and the jetta for $26K... the $10K premium for better fuel economy wasn't worth the little bit of savings...
