  1. Ford has ZERO control over what people do with their USED Fords. Ford is more than happy letting GM have that business while Ford concentrates on selling new vehicles profitably. What makes a great aftermarket/used motor does not necessarily make a great new vehicle motor. And that is not the reason that the Camaro is outselling the Mustang.
  2. The issue isn't whether $10B was a good investment. It was. The question is why shouldn't GM - who is now making billions in profit each quarter - pay it back? And don't forget about the reduction in Federal taxes. Also don't forget the old shareholders who got screwed.
  3. I thought this was the COTY thread and they were asking if the CTS had also won previously.
  4. The fact that it resets when stopped and restarted says it's either a sensor or software problem. It should reset itself when the problem clears and it doesn't. It's not a big deal but I don't think it's working as designed either.
  5. Looks a lot like the Scion FR-S (which isn't a bad thing).
  6. Is it Fords fault that Toyota only has one PIH? Nothing wrong with comparing sales of a vehicle type.
  7. Maybe they already have several just like it and don't need it. Or maybe the market is saturated right now. There could be legitimate reasons why it was so low.
  8. I had at least one occasion (maybe two) where it stopped working in rain but would not resume normal function even after the rain stopped. I think it's either a flaky sensor or a software bug. Maybe it's been fixed already.
  9. There is a difference between "acceptable" and a "reasonable workaround". Should it force you to stop and restart the vehicle to reset it when it fails? Of course not. Is it the end of the world to pull over and restart it once and change it to regular cruise? I don't think so. Should they fix it so it resets on its own without a restart? Absolutely. I do drive one and this has happened to me 2 or 3 times in 8 months, the first one just a week after I bought it during a 3 hour trip. I understand the flaw but I also don't see it as a big deal.
  10. I had a freestyle rental for a few days. I thought it was basically the same height as the five hundred but I could have been mistaken.
  11. I think he was talking about the Dodge Nitro under dash leak.
  12. I said "typically BOF truck based" and I also said there were exceptions. The explorer is a good example of a crossover that's marketed as s SUV. I thought Flex offered a much higher seating position than the Freestyle. I'm not arguing that you can't call the Flex a wagon - it was more of a general discussion about the differences between wagons, SUVs and CUVs.
  13. Power windows don't fail immediately. You have time to roll down the window. Either way once the inside fills with water the pressure is equalized and you can open the door. But I do like the wings - that could come in handy in rush hour traffic.....
  14. It definitely allows more of every model to be built since moving S and SE to FRAP does free up space in Hermosillo for more Titaniums and hybrids.
  15. Yes, the Freestyle was lower so I would definitely call it a station wagon. Not sure why you're so defensive about the term SUV or CUV. Cars and station wagons are unibody and lower to the ground. SUVs are typically BOF truck based with 4WD and sit higher. CUVs are typically unibody/car based with AWD and sit higher. Obviously there are hybrids and tweeners and marketing folks may call a CUV a SUV or vice versa, but they are distinctive from station wagons.
  16. Looks like a Hyundai to me.............but maybe that's just me.
  17. Station wagons are car height. Flex is Crossover/SUV height. There is a difference.
  18. Flat Rock is restricted to only building S and SE models and only with certain options. Note: Only 2 Fusion configurations are being built at FRAP. They are the S Series (P0G) & the FWD SE (P0H) with a 1.5L or 2.5L Engine. Paint Not Buildable at FRAP: • BT - Dark Side Metallic • D7 - Sunset Options Not Buildable at FRAP: • 18C – Active Park Assist with Forward Sensing System • 47B – Start-Stop • 52A – Heated Steering Wheel • 53B – Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support • 62A – Intelligent Access w/Push Button Start • 64B – 18” Premium Painted Luxury Wheel • 67B – Rear Inflatable Seat Belts • 90A – SE Luxury Driver Assist Package • 96B – Trunk Cargo Net
  19. Product planners listening too much to enthusiasts and magazine reviewers and their own personal desires.
