  1. If you have the instant mpg display you'd see that fuel consumption isn't exactly linear with the throttle. It stays really low up to a point them goes way up. Or looking at it inversely, your mpg stays relatively high up to around 2000 RPM, then falls off a cliff at a certain point. e.g. If I'm cruising along on flat ground at 60 mph I might be getting 34 mpg. As soon as I hit a hill and have to give it just a little bit of throttle to maintain close to 60 mph my mileage drops to 22.
  2. If you let a hacker sit inside your car for hours or days with a physical connection - you deserve to be hacked.
  3. The only parts that ended up being shared was the floor pan and the fuel tank IIRC. It was completely different.
  4. Are you seriously suggesting that current racing series like NHRA and NASCAR where the actual vehicles raced have virtually nothing in common with the production vehicles have any measurable impact on sales? Win on Sunday/sell on Monday just doesn't happen anymore. Nobody's buying a Mustang because John Force has one or a Fusion because the Roush guys use them.
  5. Too many factors here. I've noticed that I get several mpg better going South on one local interstate and several mpg worse coming back home - I presume due to an elevation change. You should check both directions and average the result to make sure that's not a factor. What I've found with the EB engines is they are very sensitive to throttle input especially when going uphill. With the cruise on it will use throttle to keep the desired speed and that wastes fuel especially in EB engines. It's better to feather the throttle and let the speed drop a little going uphill.
  6. The manual only says to vary your speed and don't tow anything for the first 500 miles.
  7. My point was very very few people prefer a bench seat with no bolsters which is why they don't make them any more. It costs too much to do a bench seat option for a few buyers because it involves changing the console and shifter. Just not cost effective.
  8. Because the supplier can't keep up with the extra demand. Happens a lot with all suppliers. It's still Ford's responsibility but I'm sure they're doing all they can.
  9. I'm convinced Ford builds in at least a $500 incentive on every vehicle - maybe more on f series.
  10. No problem at all. Just vary your speed a little and stop briefly every hour for the first 500 miles.
  11. The point most people miss is the amount of investment that would have been required had they kept JLR and that is money that would not have been available to get the Ford brand back on its feet. As close as Ford was to bankruptcy it's entirely plausible that they would not have made it without selling JLR and Volvo. In this case it's a win/win for everyone.
  12. Because they expect Lincoln to dump billions and try to turn Lincoln around with halo products immediately. You know - like Cadillac.
  13. There is no way bench seats are more comfortable than good buckets. I've driven both.
  14. No way a guy with a gun grabs a big strong teenager who he thinks is up to no good if he has a gun in his pocket. Try again.
  15. Because its not worth making one for you and the 3 other people that want one.
  16. Please give us one plausible scenario where Zimmerman started the fight that agrees with all the evidence.
  17. Have you looked into lemon law? That would be the best route. Don't blame Ford for an incompetent dealer. Ford has very little control over the dealers due to state franchise laws and since the dealer is the eyes and ears for Ford when determining warranty repairs and status it's very important to find a good dealer. In most of these cases a competent dealer can get the problem fixed promptly the first time and if not they'll work with Ford. Without a dealer helping it's very difficult for Ford to know exactly what's going on or worse - the dealer is lying to Ford about the problem. Not saying that Ford can't do better on customer service - they can. But don't let the dealer off the hook either and don't forget that Ford has no control over the dealers.
  18. Why did Trayvon hide in the bushes? He clearly had a head start and would not have been caught even if Zimmerman had continued to follow him. Why would Zimmerman want to attack anyone? He had already called the police and was waiting for them to show up. Had Zimmerman seen Trayvon and Trayvon threatened him at all he would have pulled out his gun to defend himself and hold Trayvon until police arrived. Do you think Trayvon would have attacked Zimmerman if he saw a gun? He couldn't have been that stupid. Therefore the ONLY reasonable scenario is that Trayvon hid behind a bush and jumped Zimmerman, punched him in the nose, put him on the ground, got on top of him and started beating his head into the pavement. That is the only reasonable scenario that makes any sense. Any other version is not only speculation but speculation that doesn't fit the evidence or logic.
  19. I believe Ford has figured out that these online reviews and to some extent even the larger magazine reviews simply don't matter when it comes to sales. CRs reliability data is probably the only thing in print or online that have some measurable impact on what people buy. Have you ever heard someone say "I was going to buy this vehicle but then I read that TTAC review and decided against it." I haven't and that goes to MT, R&T, C&D and everything with the exception of CR reliability. Especially when the best you can possibly get from MT, C&D or TTAC is a "meh - it doesn't suck" review.
