  1. I don't understand why people continue to compare the 3.5EB to the 5.0 when it's clearly more powerful and closer to the 6.2 in capability.
  2. Because it would be AWD done on a shared platform for a fraction of the cost of the CTS-V.
  3. None AFAIK. If Ford is "unwilling" to bring it here then it means they either can't do it profitably or they have a different plan to cover that part of the market which could include bringing T6 later or a revamped F-series line. Implying that Ford is simply abandoning the market altogether isn't accurate.
  4. It's Motor Trend - it's all a big joke (including the F150 TOTY).
  5. So what are all the people who want such a truck, but can't get it, buying right now?
  6. That would be "met" demand. You said "un-met" demand.
  7. Why not get an ipod compatible adapter instead?
  8. Horsepower (SAE net@rpm) 3.5EB _____ 365 @ 5000 5.0 _______ 360 @ 5500 Torque (lb.-ft. @rpm) 3.5EB _____ 420 @ 2500 5.0 _______ 380 @ 4250 Sorry! I couldn't resist.
  9. I think a lot of it has to do with software and/or manufacturing tolerances. As I reported before my daughter's new 2012 Focus has no shudder at all, even at low speeds. And that's with 120 miles on the odo. I think in another year or so there won't be any complaints about the dry clutch DCT.
  10. The microwave oven my sister bought back in the 80s cost $1000. Now they're $30 at Walmart. See the correlation?
  11. That's all that matters for a lease (including the down payment)
  12. You should be able to purchase an ESP at any time before the 3/36K b2b warranty expires.
  13. So the solution is for Ford and other mfrs to just give away these vehicles and lose millions of dollars in the process just so Joe Blow can afford one? Would you give away your services for free?
  14. Nobody disagrees - in fact there was a Global RWD program underway when the financial crisis hit and it had to be cancelled. Right now it's a matter of where Ford spends the money and they have a lot better things to spend money on than a low volume dedicated RWD flagship. Not every luxury car buyer cares about RWD or super high performance - and we haven't seen what Ford can do with a Lincoln performance model on the current platforms. I wouldn't assume that they can't build an exciting performer on existing platforms.
  15. My daughter's first 2012 SEL hatchback had a slight shudder about 1/3 of the time at low speeds. Not bad just noticeable. She totalled that one and the new one has no shudder whatsoever at any speed (with only 120 miles on the odo). I think there are some hardware problems out there on some transmissions that causes the shudder or worse problems. I don't think this is a widespread problem.
  16. I see it more as a badge of honor now, sort of an inverse award. If you're not pissing off the negatards then you must not be trying hard enough!
  17. No hardware upgrades - same hardware as the 2011 models. The response on my daughter's 2012 Focus is just fine as it is - I don't find it slow or laggy at all and that's on the old software.
  18. They did? The CTS is the only successful RWD Cadillac right now. The SRX is FWD/AWD and the next XTS will also be FWD/AWD. Lexus' FWD models outsell the RWD models by a considerable margin. 350+ HP with AWD and electronic suspensions should suffice for the first generation of new Lincolns. Once the new brand is established and profitable they can go after the smaller volume more expensive models.
  19. You're describing negligence, not intent and you're confusing unintentional with accidental. Negligence is not accidental but it's also not intentional. Unless you see the red light and run it anyway then it's not intentional. End of discussion. Nobody said "Fast drivers" are the problem. Speeding is not necessarily unsafe. Street racing is a totally different matter. Stop defending street racing - it's dangerous and stupid and needs to be stopped.
