RTFM! Just to clarify the part I was calling stupid was the ridiculing, not your personal preferences. I agree the V8 is better but that doesn’t mean the ecoboost is bad. And the point of comparing the cobra is that the base ecoboost is better than the top mustang V8 just a couple of decades ago. Sound isn’t everything and the original Mustang was far from a barn burner in 1964. So I respectfully disagree that the ecoboost is somehow a crime against history.

In this case Texasota is 100% correct. All those articles are saying is that based on a sample of real world fuel economy (sample being the key word) owners are using more gasoline than predicted which means they aren’t driving as much on electric power alone. However - that could also be because the owner drives 150 miles a day not just because they aren’t recharging. And his point is still true - even if you don’t plug in a PHEV it’s still as good as a hybrid and still far better than a non hybrid.

Ford Q1/March 2024 Sales Results

Money is almost always the answer. -
What is there to go after? It’s a completely free market with multiple carriers, multiple OSes and multiple phone mfrs. Apple was first to market with a capacitance touchscreen smart phone back in 2007 and they had an existing base of iPod users. So of course they dominated the market early on. People like Apple products because they just work and have a lot of cool features. Our family has been iPhone / iPad users since 2008-ish and I have 37 years in IT including Unix programming. I’ve never found something on our Apple devices that I wanted to change but couldn’t or something that I hated or couldn’t do. ICloud and Apple Pay work great. I can send text messages to the family and most friends from my iPad with only wifi. I’m sure Androids do certain things better or allow more customization but nothing I care about. And I’m certain that’s the case for most Apple users. If you do those things and prefer Android, more power to you. But I suspect a lot of Android Users just don’t like the control Apple has over apps and hardware. But to me that just allows them better quality control and until that causes me a problem directly I’ll stick with them.

Bit those aren’t high voltage either. -
It’s possible the Canadian hybrid includes more standard equipment. For US it’s only the engine.

Refreshed Hyundai Tuscon and Santa Cruz Debut in NY

I like most of the Koreans styling over the last 5-6 years but I don’t like any of the new stuff at all. Just personal preference I’m sure they’ll sell just fine. Santa Fe just looks like any other Asian crossover with the rear roof cut off. And it’s really stubby. -
2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Prices Increase Across The Board
akirby replied to ice-capades's topic in E.V. Central
Absolutely. My buddy started his own company and he said hawking new business was the worst part because you had to stop coding to do it and you had to stay ahead of the current jobs or you ended up with down time. Good luck! -
I have a 22 2.0 and it’s quite peppy and very smooth in normal driving.

I have no bias here except facts. Fact is almost everyone projected a huge increase in EV sales. Ford had Lightning reservations and sales to back up that forecast. If they were still selling them for the original prices with the original tax credits they’d be selling a lot more. Even your last quote says it’s about costs. Look at what happened to Mach-E sales when they lost the tax credit vs when they dropped prices. People still want large less efficient vehicles regardless of propulsion and a large number don’t mind paying for it. The only place I think Ford miscalculated is that EV truck buyers are not necessarily the same as ICE truck buyers. The only issue here is sales volume. And obviously to get high volume you need smaller cheaper vehicles. But that’s not the entire market.
