  1. I see Lincoln's small CUV has a mention, the C489, well there's also rumblings of a Lincoln C558. Next Gen Taurus - D568.. mmm i'm all confused over this one, FordAPA had some control on this but have handed it back to Dearborn. I've got APA guys telling me it's not Taurus, yet i've got NA guys telling me it is. I'm starting to believe N.A is right (I think, maybe!) There's also the D544! not hard to work out what that is considering both D cars are CD4.3 cars.

  4. John - I got your message and thought I'd post the reply here since it's appropriate. The designers at the studio whip these up which are then auctioned off once a year (as are many other ideas and activities) for the JDRF charity. These sketches can be for public domain, so in no way represent internal programs. Cheers.

  6. There is definitely a positive outcome from a high belt line when it concerns side impact protection. At least that's what the safety guys I deal with tell me.

  11. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it a couple of times already... I have seen documents stating that there are 2 variants of Taurus, one of them will be used for PI duties. Nothing suggests that this has changed.
  12. The variant of the Taurus they've come up with should accommodate that segment you mention.
  13. Taurus is the new PI just with an alteration to the platform.

  15. That's true and certainly a possibility, but I know Ford AUS haven't been doing the work for a N.A T6. If N.A have the resources and they're doing it, then it's a maybe.
  16. They're wrong. T6 is not F100 and will not be heading to the States anytime soon.
  17. 32V, DOHC, TI-VCT, allot of work has been done to reduce parasitic losses (oil windage) and frictional losses.

  19. Very true. My father-in-law is worth many millions, yet he has no intention of ever paying big $$$ for a car. His current drive is a Nissan Maxima and an AWD Subaru to tow the boat. For us this may seem pretty sad, but like you said, it's not always about status.
  20. Anybody know anything about the new global platform that will be built at Oakville? I get the impression it's not any of the current globals.
  21. sounds like old news to me. I think it may have been mentioned here before in the Ranger forum? T6 engineered for NA adds couple of hundred kilos, and among many other stringent requirements blows the budget right out.
