  1. I've gotta wonder why everything is body color except that one pillar? That stands out in a bad way, kind of like the piece that belongs there fell off.
  2. The pillars are the first thing that caught my attention. I'm so sick of all the black plastic that scratches just by looking at it. The body color surrounding the glass gives it an air of sophistication IMO.
  3. I think Ford needs to move quickly with a response. The fact the TRX has a V8 is going to gaurantee they will sell every unit they can build, regardless of the price.
  4. Seems like it should be up by now. The order guide has been out for a while. Ford seems to be dragging their feet on everything.
  5. Sooner or later, someone will see the pets in the car and smash a window and call Police. That happens a lot here.
  6. I am one of the 766k. I bought a Raptor in May of 2018 right before the fire at Ford's supplier and it delayed the build by 2 weeks. I'm not sure why you think I expect everyone that follows TFL would buy a Ford, since they review all brands? Since F-150 is the best selling truck, I'm sure they do have some influence.
  7. 766k do for sure and plenty of others that end up there because they've viewed trucks at others sites.
  8. From what I've seen on Bronco6g, many believe Ford sanctioned most of the leaks from TFL. While it's true that TFL probably has a good idea where to find vehicles out testing, it's happened far too often with Bronco. In one video the 2 drivers actually wave to each other and the Bronco driver changes lanes many times to allow the TFL driver to get photos from all angles.
  9. I can just see this one. Well, we don't know what the F-150 can do blah blah because they chose to not work with us and keep rubbing salt into the wound. I think Ford has more to lose in this battle. Many people consider TFL the gold standard of reviews.
  10. Chrysler had something like that in the 40's. I had a 48 Chrysler New Yorker. What a blast to drive that. The standard Fluid Drive configuration consisted of the fluid coupling and a manual transmission and clutch in tandem. If the Fluid Drive was mated to a manual transmission, the driver still needed to use the clutch to shift between any of the gears. The presence of Fluid Drive, however, prevented the driver stalling when taking off from a dead stop. The driver could also come to a stop in any gear without using the clutch and could then proceed without shifting or using the clutch. Naturally, acceleration from a stop was much slower in high gear than it was in first. It must be emphasized that Fluid Drive was not a transmission, only a fluid coupling between the engine and clutch. Fluid Drive could also be mated to the semi-automatic transmission, which was not automatic in any way and should not be confused with Fluid Drive. With the semi-automatic transmissions, the driver shifted manually, selecting reverse or a low range and a high range. Each 'range' had two speeds. To shift between them, the driver accelerated then released pressure on the accelerator. In high range, this shift point was about 23 mph (37 kmh). Once the transmission shifted into high speed range, the driver again depressed the accelerator pedal, and continued accelerating. Solenoids on the transmission connected to the carburetor and ignition system momentarily interrupted engine operation to allow trouble-free shifting. The driver could down-shift for passing by fully depressing the accelerator. The clutch was needed to change between low and high range. The fluid drive system allowed the driver to stop at a light or in traffic and remain in gear without depressing the clutch. The driver could, if not concerned with fast acceleration, drive the car all day long in high range, stopping and starting, without ever having to touch the clutch pedal or gearshift lever unless faster acceleration or reversing was required. For this reason, DeSotos and Dodges were favored by city cab companies from the mid Forties to early Fifties. The semi-automatic came under a variety of names - Vacamatic, Prestomatic, Fluidmatic (Chrysler), Simplimatic, Tip-Toe Hydraulic Shift (DeSoto) and Gyromatic (Dodge).
  11. The oil life monitor doesn't seem to go by mileage alone. I had my oil changed at about 1,500 miles and it was showing 12% oil life remaining. It now has 1,600 miles and showing 82% oil life. After just under 100 miles, 18% of oil life has already been used.
  12. They seem very short in height is what I really meant to say.
  13. The Ranger has a 45 HP tune directly from Ford that keeps the warranty though.
  14. Ranger is doing pretty well and getting close to 2nd place. I'm really surprised with Explorer with all the bad press it's got. I like the ST, but a little afraid to buy it.
  15. To this day, I still haven't seen one on the road. Only time I've seen them is at the dealer and I was a little disappointed by how small they are.
  16. I think the market will dictate Ford's response. There's been so much demand for a V8 from the Raptor crowd that if TRX is the only one that has it, the earth is gonna tilt when buyers move en masse over to FCA. Another thing I noticed is the 21 F-150 Limited now has only one tail pipe again. That suggests the 3.5 HP is gone in the Limited. The only reason I can think of for that is because it will be gone in the Raptor also to be replaced by something more potent, 7.3 perhaps?
  17. I have a 19 Edge ST and like it a lot. With the ST, it has a lot more power and the handling is probably crisper than the SEL. However, the SEL probably rides a bit smoother. I live in Phoenix and its in the low 100's and A/C cools very quickly. I usually use the button on the lift gate or the fob to open it. I use the foot operated feature when I have my arms loaded with groceries to close it and it works well. I have a Samsung Galaxy 9S phone with a hard case on it and no need to remove the case for charging. I've had it 14 months and no issues at all.
  18. I've had the update done on my 19 Edge ST. They do the self check now. I haven't driven at night since, so don't know if anything is noticeable while driving.Still no option in the menu to select them.
  19. Are they getting rid of the 3.5 HP in the limited?
  20. They generated Bronco news twice by doing this. Deliberate in my opinion.
  21. Wait until any Ford/Lincoln has a quality issue. TFL will be first to share the news. Payback is a bitxx.
