Summation, Ford decided it no longer wants bottom fruit customers (i get that)...but boring as hell product offerings certainly is not the way i would construct the current business model for profitability....why should somebody dump 25k into an escape for hard plastic interior when that went out of vogue 15 years ago?...consumers may test drive an escape but they are not returning after test driving a rav...escape is destined for cheap fleet rental....

The biggest concern for ford is what becomes the new norm in regards to buying habits...with no product outside stang being "fun" that may be the least of fords problem...ford is in no position finicially if buyers balk at atp pricing structure...the foreign guys will dump product for a loss and eek out small profit with volume...while the ford product is not "poor" it is less than what the other brands have and that may be most difficult for ford to address with dimished cash flow...saving coin on interiors was a fools decision by ford marketing/execs

Not much to argue with that...fords has a perception problem...bland, boring styles and the only fun vehicle in the mix (stang) is stupid msrp...ford chasing after 55+ buyers is simply the wrong way forward

the sport truck segment can disappear just as fast as it appeared...sport trucks are so 30 years ago...ford needs product that "connects" and at this point it does not....its all stickers and product that is dam expensive to mod....
