  1. I guess the closest to getting an Eddie Bauer would be an XLT with the Rapid Spec 202A package.
  2. I thought of that, it just seems a bit awkward putting one button on the side of the selector for shifting gears. Having an additional shift gate notch and tapping the selector forward and backwards for shifting seems more natural like the one currently used on the Euro and Asian Focus TDCi Powershift.
  3. About the 6-speed Powershift on the 2012 Focus... I noticed that there is no additional shift gate notch for manual shifting which allows you to tap the shifter forward and backward, but instead it has a big button on the side of the shifter with what appears to be a "+" and "-" symbol. Is that for shifting? how does it funtion? Click thumbnail to enlarge
  4. Update: - http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/fo...0-80997137.html In the article they listed down the 2.0 EB, but no 1.6 EB, instead there will be a new NA direct injection Ti-VCT 2.0. If I recall the 1.6 EB was supposed to replace the NA 2.0 liter Ford engines. I wonder what the next generation Asia-Pacific Focus will use... the 2.0 NA engine or the 1.6 EB like the one in the upcoming C-Max/ Grand C-Max?
  5. Any news on what the replacement of the Asia-Pacific Escape will be? Could giving the old Escape a kinetic design facelift (stop gap model?) be a hint that they really intend to bring in the Kuga to the Asia-Pacific market? The 2009 Ford Escape (Asia-Pacific) which went on sale last year.
  6. The Ford Escape sold in South East Asia is manufactured at Ford's plant in the Philippines.
  7. Well, you get the point LFA, LF-A, the thread title says "LAF". :D Additional photos: More at http://www.netcarshow.com/lexus/2011-lfa/
  8. Not bad at all... its called Lexus "LF-A" by the way. More photos here: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/20/video-l...okyo-unveiling/ Video:
  9. The BTCC Mondeos... those were the days before the Mondeo grew bigger and heavier. By the way, here's the current generation Focus (Team Aon) racing at the BTCC. Its powered by a Mountune Racing tuned Ford 2.0 liter Duratec.
  10. The Explorer and Expedition's overall width he posted includes the side mirrors.
  11. I think the only Lexus model Buick is really competing with is the FWD Camry-based ES350.
  12. I guess Buick's new Opel Insignia based mid-size sedan is too small for the "Roadmaster" name. At least they didn't call it "Skylark"...
  13. Not really, just wondering since there seems to be a revived interest in RWD coupes and rumors about the Capri keep popping out every few years. Anyways, back to the FT-86, the very low Honda S2000-like nose might look odd at first, but I like that athletic stance with the wheels pushed towards the corners. It looks like AWD might not be possible with the modified platform. The FT-86 has a very short front overhang, it looks like the boxer engine is mounted further back between the wheels, I guess that means there might not be enough clearance for the front half-shafts like the ones found on AWD Subarus. In a normal Subaru, the boxer engine hangs ahead of the axle line.
  14. Not bad at all, a lightweight RWD sports coupe... after years of making boring cars, finally an interesting Toyota. The FT-86 shows some hints of the 2007 Toyota FT-HS Concept in its styling... PS: I wonder if Ford plans to revive the Capri... ...or make some sort of modern day RWD Escort RS.
  15. Thats odd, didn't Ford just confirm the 2.0 liter EcoBoost for the North American market last July? http://green.autoblog.com/2009/07/21/ford-...inpage_autoblog
  16. The new Ford Figo The Figo is Ford's new affordable car that will be made in India and exported to other markets in the Asia Pacific and African regions. Its based on the previous generation Fiesta. Article and photo gallery: http://paultan.org/2009/09/24/ford-rehashe...a-as-ford-figo/
  17. Just read this a few days ago at Motor Trend (Sept. 11, 2009)... -http://wot.motortrend.com/6581364/auto-shows/us-spec-2011-ford-fiesta-to-debut-at-la-show-with-sync-on-board/index.html
  18. I do remember reading an article before that the 1.6 EcoBoost is supposed to be based on the current 1.6 Duratec (which is based on the old Zetec-SE), I was just expecting them to give it a timing chain since all the larger displacement (newer generation) Duratecs (1.8 and up) use timing chains.
  19. Based on the photo, the 1.6 EB appears to be using a timing belt just like the european 1.6 Duratec, I thought they'd update it with a timing chain. The european 1.6 liter Duratec/ 1.6 liter Duratec Ti-VCT is based on the older Zetec-SE engine. The newer 1.8, 2.0, 2.3 and 2.5 liter Duratec engines use timing chains like the closely related Mazda MZR engines.
  20. Looks great. Will this be sold outside Europe?
  21. I guess it wasn't that bad for the new Camaro... because even if its old news, its actually selling well. Very patient fans?
  22. Like what I said in my previous post.... "The Fusion's 3.0 liter V6 makes 240hp, thats 80hp/L. If the 3.7 liter V6 was tuned to produce the same 80hp/L as the 3.0 liter V6, it would be making 296hp. 296hp is so close to 300hp, I think getting 300+ horsepower is very possible for the 3.7 liter V6." I guess anything over than the standard 3.7's 273hp should be good enough for the Mustang since its much lighter than its competitors. The 3.7 liter Mustang V6 will most likely weigh the same or slightly less than the current 4.0 liter Mustang V6, even with the standard 3.7's 273hp, the power to weight ratio would already be close to that of the more powerful but much heavier Camaro V6.
  23. Here's something interesting. The Fusion's 3.0 liter V6 makes 240hp, thats 80hp/L. If the 3.7 liter V6 was tuned to produce the same 80hp/L as the 3.0 liter V6, it would be making 296hp. 296hp is so close to 300hp, I think getting 300+ horsepower is very possible for the 3.7 liter V6. Besides, 315hp might just be a target number, but anything over than the standard 3.7's 273hp should be good enough since the Mustang isn't that heavy anyway.
