  1. You should toss a Mazda CX-7 in there for comparison....esp if you are looking at Venza. CX-7 has a turbo 4 with gas direct injection rated at 244 HP, and has a 6 speed auto.
  2. Wondering here what it would take to get that Cummins V6 into the engine bay of an F150. With Chrysler on the ropes, I would be willing to bet that the board room of Cummins is likely seeking someone else to pick up (excuse the pun) this motor for their line....
  3. Agree 100%...HUMMER could and can still be folded into the GMC division with little effort. The model line up would then be the GMC HUMMER H2, the GMC HUMMER H3, and H3T......etc
  4. I am sure your local Mercury dealer would let you fondle the trunk lid of a 2010 Milan
  5. President Obama would need to wrest control from the Ford family first....good luck trying that!!
  6. Nardelli needs to get the axe at Chrysler and be replaced by Jim Press....ASAP!
  7. Stock market is already tanking on the news.....Ford is down in pre-market.....hoping for a rally here!
  8. Dire times for GM and if they go under, will the White House replace the Cadillac with a proper Lincoln? Just a random thought here...
  9. While setting it on a stand sounds good.....the dealers want people to touch 'em, open 'em up and sit down.....hard to do up on a stand....Carbone Ford L/M in Rome has the Fusion in front of the showroom and the Milan out by the road. When I stopped, the salesman cheerfully suggested, "You wanna take her for a ride??"
  10. The moderators should lock this thread due to it being in the wrong section....this conversation is already being blogged about in the proper forum thread. Nick?? Richard??
  11. My local Ford L/M dealer has both a 2010 Fusion SEL and a 2010 Milan Premier....seeing them in person, I am now officially leaning toward Mercury. The Fusion styling is awesome, I just like the more upscale design elements of the Milan. Both were 3.0 V6/autos....and both were "Flex Fuel" capable.
  12. In that Alternate world, Star Trek never got cancelled, and Toyota and Honda are filing for bankruptcy.
  13. FYI....Capt Picard never gave the "Make is so..." order to Engineer Scott, they did meet in Star Trek: TNG episode "Relics" (episode #130)....but that was about it.
  14. Volvo S80 was on the Volvo P2 chassis...(which is the basis for Fords' D3 chassis) until 2006, then S80 was redesigned to the EUCD in 2007, Volvo refers to EUCD as P24. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_EUCD_platform
  15. I have a great new name for the tried and true Econoline front suspension....the iTwin beam-o-matic....hah?? hah???
  16. Yeah, well....every E-Series made has it....except Wiz's......right Wiz? Wiz?? Wiz????
  17. Wow Wiz....thanks for clearing THAT up..... Now, to the point...."engineered" and "built" are two different things altogether...let me explain it in terms you can understand....the replacement for E-Series will be "engineered" here in the good ole USA using a platform that is shared with full size Transit in Europe....hopefully, when it is "built", the Twin I Beam front suspension on the current model will be replaced. :poke:
  18. Not if you don't want that large a vehicle... I had the opportunity to drive an MKZ and I currently own a Fusion...similar dimensions, but the overall feel was like night and day...I cannot swing an MKZ just yet, and I am about 2 years out from a trade in point....guess I will be putting Mercury on my list. I really enjoy my Fusion, but I am getting to the point of desiring something "more". Mercury and Lincoln give me that in Milan and MKZ...the more upscale content is only part of it, then there is the "I see Fusions everywhere..." aspect.....with lower sales than the "bread and butter" of the Ford line up, I can have a car that is rock solid reliable yet, not see myself coming and going every time I drive down the road. The upscale accouterments that Milan has is the ice cream to my piece of cake.... In an MKZ?? Who wants whipped cream and a cherry with your ice cream?
  19. No.... because Ford Jellymoulds used a shamwow on the design team and soaked up all their smarts!!!
