  1. 2010 Raptor seats on Ebay Not sure if this helps...but you can always look around for a wrecked one....or visit an SVT dealer.
  2. I thought in the US they will be referred to simply as "T-Series" so as not to get the customers confused with the existing Transit Connect...the beauty of referring to it as "T-Series" is they can still call it Econoline as it is the "Economic Line" of commercial trucks and vans for fleet operators in the North American market.
  3. There is an Econoline mafia? What is their weapon of choice....a stick shaped like a Twin-I-Beam??
  4. I am guessing Ford will make them a sweetheart deal on Transit Connect? Or will they jump ship and switch to Chevy Colorado instead.....
  5. Saw plenty of Transit passenger vans when I was on vacation in Cancun Mexico....didn't do a "head count" but they looked plenty roomy and comfy....
  6. This can be accomplished with existing tooling....same frame, lighter components i.e. lighter duty rear differential and spring packs, same goes for front end components, use Expedition nose and doors, lower the top sill of the box to match the lower window openings of the Expedition doors and make the exterior box panels out of composite material. Guess~timate would be 500-750 lbs in weight savings, the truck would look visually smaller than F150 and you could name it F100.... Or, you could have an Expedition style "Sport Trac" with four door cab and 4-5 foot box.... Or you could build a pickup truck version of the pending T-Series coming out of Kansas City....
  7. New York is classified as a "green state" and uses California style emission standards for new car sales.
  8. About as many as there are for Crown Victoria/Town Car/Grand Marquis .....
  9. Hope you enjoy your status as troll in the realm of the likes of P71Crown_Vic, mlhm5, T-Stag, and the quickly rising Ford Jellymoulds....
  10. Gotta say Jelly, your daily pedantic ramblings about rear wheel drive vs front wheel drive is getting obnoxious....this latest rambling has me wondering if GM now makes a front wheel drive based Silverado since you refer to the "classic RWD Silverado" version so much...
  11. I stopped at the dealership today to ask some questions about my continued use of their facilities.....seems that the deal was precipitated by Ford Motor Company themselves....Carbone wanted the Lincoln and Mercury franchises bad....They were out-bid for Cater Lincoln / Mercury in Yorkville by the newly acquired Ford dealership in nearby New York Mills as Steet-Ponte was building their automotive group. So, Carbone turns and buys the Rome Ford L/M dealership that was also foundering due to hap-hazard ownership after Sid Stockholm retires. They were prevented to move Lincolns and Mercurys to their Utica site due to the proximity of Steet-Ponte Ford L/M, so instead, they poured millions into the renovation of the Rome site, making it into the new model for Ford and Lincoln / Mercury...... Then Ford shutters the Mercury brand which turns Carbone Ford Lincoln / Mercury in Rome NY into Rome Ford / LINCOLN......then Ford decides that there are too many Lincoln dealerships in the area and pressures Carbone Auto Group to relinquish Lincoln as the brand is remodeled and re-invented, leaving only Steet-Ponte with the Lincoln marque....they just completed all the requisite upgrades to their showroom and make all the necessary changes to accommodate "The New Lincoln" and thereby pushes Carbones Lincoln site off the map in Rome.....Carbone makes a business decision to consolidate their Ford showrooms into one large Ford Dealership and Rome NY loses the Ford store after it being here for decades...... A sad day indeed....my next car will be a Lincoln....but, for personal reasons, I will not buy it at Steet-Ponte due to their inept handling of a prior deal when my girlfriend bought her last Escape there....we vowed then to never deal with them again, the whole process was rough and the only reason why we didn't walk away from the deal was that it was already financed and all the checks were already cut....first trip after delivery was to the auto parts store up the street for a replacement lic plate frame and tossing their frame in the trash...
  12. Awesome that you took the convertible Fusion for the trip...
  13. Well...in essence, they did just prune one more Ford dealership out of the shrub....with the "consolidation" of the two showrooms into one, there is one less Ford showroom in the area to work a deal from...guess they got tired of competing with their own sales force, a known fact the you could always get a better deal in the Rome outlet as opposed to the Utica showroom....
  14. Leave it to GM to ruin yet another promising segment just to "get there first"...Volt will go down in history along side Corvair, Vega, Citation, Oldsmobile 350 diesel and other famous GM stinkers....
  15. Carbone Auto group has done a "consolidation" of their two Ford dealerships in Central New York. Don's Ford in Utica NY will absorb the Carbone Ford/Lincoln dealership of Rome NY and Lincoln will no longer be sold at the combined dealership located off Rte #12 just north of the Riverside Center retail shopping stores. Sadly, the end of an era in Rome as the Former Sid Stockholm Ford dealership has survived many changes in the area and has gone through several ownerships after Sid retired....Carbone Auto group will rename it the Carbone Auto Pre-Owned Select center and will use the outlet to sell pre-owned vehicles of all makes. The Quick Lanes center will remain for now, but may be closed if business conditions warrant it... Lincolns have been sold in Rome for many years.....I remember as a kid when the Lincoln/Mercury dealership (Vern Secor Lincoln / Mercury) was separate and on opposite ends of Rome NY...Lincolns will now only be available at Steet-Ponte Ford / Lincoln on Commercial Drive in New York Mills. Steet-Ponte took over the former Ed Blask Ford dealership at the same location and absorbed the former Cater Lincoln / Mercury dealership that was 1/2 a mile up the road on Commercial drive when the Cater family (do not remember Mr Caters first name) decided to retire. Makes no sense because Carbone Auto Group just poured a ton of money into the Rome Ford / Lincoln site with renovations to the showroom and state of the art facilities.....
  16. Sources ....? Where? Who? C'mon man....really? Ford just paid off dealers to close Mercury down....
  17. Instead of focusing on whether or not Ford would bring a hatch or wagon variant of the next gen Fusion into the North American market....why not bring it in under the guise of a new Lincoln MKZ touring "Estate" with AWD and a 2.7L Ecoboosted V6 with paddle shifters or a gated automatic with manual up down shifting as an option. Fusion would get the hatch and MKZ would get the Estate (shhhh...don't call it a wagon)
  18. ...and there are people here that would buy a turbo 4 Ranger in a second.....used of course since no one buys new Rangers anyway.
  19. Good question....if Ford has one piece dies for MKT and Flex...what would the additional cost be for MKS? Even the Panthers had a stretch edition in both Town Car (Executive L) and Police / Taxi editions of Crown Victoria, so the cost couldn't be THAT prohibitive....
  20. You do know that all the major global automotive companies are involved in public transportation as well....right?Daimler (Mercedes Benz) VW, Hyundai, Toyota, Tata...etc etc etc
