  1. They still sell the Lincoln Mark LT down in Mexico. With a new Lincoln truck, they could spread the volume between here and there. Still, I have mixed feelings about a Lincoln truck. http://www.lincoln.com.mx/home.asp
  2. I found this comment interesting: At least a short time, Ford will be using Mercury for a dumping ground for non-retail cars. They can clear out of the parts they have in inventory and not affect the resale value of Fords.
  3. Pretty stupid, huh? Maybe they should have rebadge all the Dodge trucks as Jeeps instead of Ram.
  4. With the direction Lincoln has been moving in, you might see more people looking at its "L" badge.
  5. The year isn't over yet. I'm sure GM will do something else just as stupid before it's over.
  6. GM buys subprime lender http://money.cnn.com/2010/07/22/news/companies/gm_americredit/
  7. Well that's because it was suppose to be a Plymouth. I think with the style of the car, there really wasn't any place they could have taken it.
  8. Nobody here is happy about that. Maybe not in your neck of the woods, but around here you see both models as taxis everywhere.
  9. A GMC car?? Next thing you will be telling me that Cadillac will be putting out a pickup truck.
  10. I think it will be like in Canada where you have a Ford Grand Marquis for retail sales.
  11. There is some truth to that statement. Ford is not a cheap brand, and seems to be moving up market some. This can only make Ford brand cars have higher ROI. They don't need the cheap market.
  12. What are you high? Yes the Cougar name was put on 4 doors and station wagons, and they were a stain on the brand name. If Ford is not going to make a proper Cougar, then they need not use the name on anything.
  13. So, they named the car after a Ford transmission? Is the C6 and the ATX next? I guess Ford used the car name Cyclone for an engine, and Dodge used an engine name Magnum for a car.. anything is possible!
  14. There isn't a void between Ford and Lincoln; if anything, they overlap at some point. They should keep Mercury around just for this:
  15. I would hope GM has its quality in order, or this will bite them in ass big time.
  16. Plant bids farewell to big block End of production of V-8 engine at GM’s Tonawanda facility leads to 150 layoffs http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/899075.html
  17. Chrysler really does needs these; they do fill one of the holes in their line-up. They won't be Dodges, but Rams.
  18. Looks like the deal is dead. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=aioTrH.Mfo0o
  19. It's only happened once with the 1974 Mustang II. But you are right, there should be an optional V8. Granted in the future, this will a more expensive option than it is now.
  20. There is so little different between a GMC and a Chevy truck, but for some reason, the GMC is usually the better looking of the two.
  21. Ford is going to buy it on the cheap. They will use it to replace Mercury. See the new Pontiac Bobcat at your local Lincoln-Pontiac dealer! :happy feet:
  22. I had an Olds Cutlass with the 260 engine. No power whatsoever, but it would run forever.
  23. AM General is not part of the deal. They are a separate company.
