  1. This is a segment where there is not a lot of cross shopping between segments. Customers in this segment basically shop Mustang and Camaro...and sometimes now the Challenger. That is why comparisons are important...which makes perception important.
  2. I would not consider myself a troll,or to my knowledge, have any Camaro buddies. I really enjoy this site despite the sunshine pumpers, and Kool-Aid drinkers. I appreciate the opinions, and learn a lot here.
  3. I understand the comparisons and equal equipment. The Mustang has never had enough tire...funny...NOT ADDRESSED YET by wonderful "team" Mustang. I also understand that performance and price point is a slippery slope, and a balancing act. However the weight issue could have been addressed, especially with the limited volume the segment is. Now everyone is Hoping for a 50K Mustang to trounce a 5 year old competitor that is using the corporate parts bin to achieve similar performance.. That is pretty hard to swallow for a Mustang fan.
  4. There is a lot of Kool-Aid drinking and sunshine pumping on this thread (but I would frankly expect that here). Dave-S has an interesting take that many agree with...why on earth did the "NEW" Mustang not at the VERY least outperform a 5 year old GM design? I am a huge fan of Ford...and I care enough to call it the way I see it.
  5. Weight ,MPG not improved, performance basically the same as the carryover, looks has not really Wowed anyone ...any buzz the car generated has been squashed by not managing the press and expectations...Classic over-promising and under delivering...Just this motor trend article is a PERFECT example of this...it effects perception...Performance is basically a wash...that is being generous...REALLY?? A totally brand-new Mustang cannot impress a wanting press with a 5 year old carryover Camaro?
  6. It's a good looking car in the flesh. Interior is a really nice upgrade.
  7. The Mustang "team" has screwed the pooch on this car in so many ways. Please don't let this "team" anywhere near another project...ever.
  8. Ecoboosts are misunderstood. Drive these vehicles reasonably , you can get great mileage...give it petal, and you get gobs of power and torque...BUT fuel mileage suffers. The vast majority of the public want use gobs of power and torque and attain great fuel mileage...that will not happen with the ecoboost or any other engine. Trucks(3.5 ecoboost) are extremely sensitive to load and throttle. They seem to get most of the complaints and the wrath of complainers.
  9. If you are wanting Ford to be a whore, chasing hedge fund managers, and business media talking heads with short term stock price gains...we will quickly return to the days of Jac Nasser.
  10. GM and the Italian company masquerading as an American Company is putting massive incentives on their products. GM also has more inventory on the ground and capacity to produce more. The Italian company is just flat insane with incentives. Most dealers will run completely out of FSeries if they matched GM and the Italians...We don't have near enough 14 trucks.
  11. The only reason GM's toxic twins of Sierra and Silverado outsold the F Series was that the GM twins had 0% for 72 months.
  12. Dealerships will basicly be out of the truck business, because all of our '14's will be gone by November.
  13. Haters? Come on...you gotta be kidding me. Just pointing out our concerns that we observe...I love the product and company enough to point out problems I see...not a hater at all. The issues I have discussed are real and many in the public share these concerns. This car should have had the chops to create unbelievable excitement...the car and team are making excuses.
  14. I hope I change my mind after I drive it, and there is real retail demand.
  15. Too heavy, too pricey, too many engines, questionable looks, tepid fuel mileage improvements. In fact the V6 has lost 5 HP...the car has completely lost it's excitement and buzz. They have over-promised and under delivered on this car. The Mustang is not a volume car,but it is the car the press and public uses to gauge the company. I'll bet under truth serum, they wish they had a do-over with this car and roll out. I
  16. As I have stated before, the entire Mustang team has dropped the ball badly. Heads should roll.
  17. In 2004,during the last big F150 change, Ford had a big price hike. The 2004, like 2015, Ford was way ahead of the Chevy and Dodge pickups...they tried no rebates... They told us that the Ford was such a superior truck( it was)..that it did not need to be incentivized....that lasted about 90 days...then Ford got with the program... and got competitive...NOT THE CHEAPEST...but Competitive.
  18. They will adjust...my concern is how long will it take them to adjust.
  19. I think pioneer sounds like someone who has NEVER sold a New Truck in the retail environment. in reality, Price shoppers are not bottom feeders,in fact they are the majority of buyers..now they can be sold on superior value and they might pay a little more, but not muck over 2K...probably less than that.
  20. Chevy's incentives are about $1,000 to $1,500 more than a comprable Ford...Dodge is over 2K more. That potentially would put the Ford in some configurations at a $9 thousand dollar price disadvantage.
  21. A $2K to $3K increase of similiarly equipped vehicles...that doesn't take into consideration the incentives will be at least 3 to 4 thousand dollars less than the 2014...that means the opening transaction price is going up 4 to 7 THOUSAND dollars.
