  1. NO I will not be thanking anybody. What did any of you do for tier 2 other than treat us like second class citizens? Open your eyes and actually read that not once have I ever, EEEEEEEEEEVER complained about what shift I'm on. I happen to like the weekend shift, I'll be pissed if I ever get bumped.
  2. Don't try and spin my statement, I never said I didn't like it. I know how this stuff works, I've had a union job before I started at MAP. The ignorance within the UAW is mindboggling. Don't tell me I knew what I was signing up for and deal with it, I'm well aware of what I got myself into. And yes, I have started reading through the contract. Don't lump me in with the rest of the degenerates who only want a paycheck and for fuck sakes do not ever call me ungrateful or say that I don't care
  3. What an ignorant comment. Most of us that were put here have 0 choice what shift we are on.
  4. I look at it this way. Don't question it, just enjoy the larger paychecks while you're still getting them

  6. I don't remember absenteeism being this bad last summer. Maybe is because there was a bunch of temps around? (myself included at the time)
  7. I heard about that. Has it been a consistent problem for you guys or a one time deal? Its been a problem on C-Crew for months now.
  8. Does anyone have attendance issues like MAP C-Crew does? It seems like every day the line is starting later and later because people don't show up for work. How long does this have to continue until they start losing their jobs? I understand having a rather lenient attendance policy. Shit happens, I get that, but for the love of god at least enforce your policies! And people wonder why the C-Crew is getting canned rumors won't die.
  9. I have a 2008 focus with a 5 speed manual. I've said since the day I bought the car it needed a 6th gear. I still find myself attempting to shift for it and hitting 4th from time to time.
  10. I checked with my guy. He hasn't heard anything, but he's also been off for 3 weeks. I asked him to tell me if he finds anything out.

  12. That issue is the reason I started this thread. I called unemployment yesterday and they told me waive both weeks. It won't have any effect.
  13. Its telling me I will have to file a new claim for waiving more than 2 weeks. This would be so much easier if labor would just get their act together and do it right the first damn time
  14. Has anybody else from MAP had unemployment claims filed for the weeks after the April layoffs? The state is asking me to claim for the weeks of 4/20 and 4/27 even though we were back to work by then.

  17. I don't find it offensive, just overall bland. I'm all for minimalist, but theres a way you can do it without being bland. That's where they failed in my eyes

  22. A little education goes a long way. I'm tier and have less than 1 year seniority (though I'm not sure you can call it seniority when I'm literally at the bottom of the list) but I understood when I took the job that there was little I can do about it. I also know that theres A LOT I have to learn about how things work. That being said, you want change, go to meetings and voice your opinion, you have a voice so use it rather than bitch about it on the internet. Trying to start up a new union is doomed to failure. UAW has too much power to allow that to happen. Yes I know its not what it once was but they still have enough leverage to squash any new union from entering their territory. Afdor, you are onto something with your divide and conquer statement. It seems to be in the company's best interest.
