These 15 Foreign Cars Are Way More 'American'
Axle17 replied to mettech's topic in Competing Products
Ford usually ties potential new product to local and state tax abatements or other credits. So they operate pretty close to transplants in that regard. -
These scratches might be a blessing in disguise. Around my area they have towed Fusions and the Lincoln's by the back wheels out of parking lots breaking the tranny in the process. The cops find the car a few days later on blocks.

Isn't everyone's use of the term a reaction to such? How do you differentiate between good and bad reactions? The likely answer is that you consider those reactions that are like yours as good and those not are bad. So he could react to opinions and actions he disagreed with by using that term but others could not. Is this close? -
Obamacare-Because this needs it's own thread

I liked that Hubbard's had aliens. -
I disagree. The tire issue is similar enough given the bad press, the fact that Ford made the recommendation to run the tires at the lower pressure and that they had a inkling of possible tire failure. In the midst of all that, Ford took a very similar route as GM did, trying to get it's employees to frame the issue. There were even posters in the admin building suggesting how to talk to neighbors about the issue, along with the classes. Didn't mean to sound short but just got in from the pub.

When, as a new poster, you use the new content tab it takes you all the back to the start of a thread. I have to say after skimming my way through them, it seems that you leveled that very same accusation quite a few times yourself. How many times do you think you called others here racist because they didn't agree with your point of view? Perhaps more times than you would be happy to admit and enough that you shouldn't feel comfortable remarking about people calling others racist. It seems that the conversation to you is more honest because you feel among like minded people as evidenced by the references to a removed member. One always feels more open when the opposition has been removed and they can self-segregate. -
That escalated quickly.

Richard Petty Racing Might Leave Ford To Join Toyota

Do you feel think that the tube frame rear wheel drive stock car is selling the front wheel drive Fusion? Are they going to stop buying Mustangs or F-150's because of it? -

The American car companies haven't raced each other in years. There's not one Ford, Chevy or Dodge on those tracks. -

I have never seen a Durango police vehicle and just saw my first Explorer this past month. -
So it looks like the fix is too replace the housing with one that either drains better or has some method of allowing a little outside air in to evaporate the moisture while not running. I'm wondering if it isn't a "in house" fix such as drilling or widening a hole.

Wife of driver in Paul Walker death sues Porsche

I thought that the widow, her lawyer and their investigator were suing because they believe there is a defect. Or hope to prove there was. -

You don't seem very independent. Usually independents don't have very strong opinions about one side or other, as they tend to move between parties depending on the choices. -
It seems they both share a love of drinking and drugs. Farley's led to an untimely death.

I honestly doubt anyone would dissuade their son or daughter from attending the University of Michigan because of the roads. I'm sorry, but 99.99999% of people don't turn down one of the top universities because they feel the roads around the state are bad. It feels like there is some sort of anti-Michigan thing at work here.

Understanding where you're coming, I just don't see this move as being one away from these issues in California. Toyota is also closing a plant in northern Kentucky, sending 1,000 of it's jobs to Texas and 600 to Michigan as part of the consolidation. To me it seems that they were looking to consolidate and Perry offered them the biggest incentives.

I'm sad to see them go. I put over 200,000 miles on my 4.6 Grand Marquisand got decent mileage and still could tow a small trailer.

Government fines GM $35Million for recall delay

Again I agree with your point. I don't have the answer, just a worry that fines aren't the best way. -

You make a point there. I do worry that non unionized companies tend to get some back from it's blue collar workers through delayed or lack of raises, changes to benefits. -

Negligent or not I am not a big believer in fines as they will ultimately cost the workers and the consumers, who are not at fault. Jail and/or fines for those involved would serve us better. -
