  1. I hope Lincoln gets a version of the Model E, I'm picturing a sub-MKC crossover.
  2. Previous generations (gen 1.5 & 2 I believe) offered ST versions. The 1.5 was European version of the SVT Contour and 2nd gen was called the ST220. It had the same hi-po 3.0V6 that the X-Type had.
  3. Rumor was the MKC isn't getting refreshed, but waiting until a redesign with the Escape. We should see an updated MKX for 2019 or so.
  4. I dont understand why so many keep thinking the Everest will come here. If Ford were not building the Bronco, I could see it happening. But the Bronco is coming and the business plan MUST include a 4door version. A 4door Bronco would over lap too much with the Everest which in turn also overlaps with the Edge and Explorer. I sometimes wonder if the Fkex will be replaced by an "Explorer Max." It could share its interior and engines, etc, but have an increased wheelbase for a larger third row and cargo area, and a unique/altered front end styling. This could capture Flex owners plus some minivan intenders plus people who want more room than an Explorer but don't need/want the size/towing/truckiness of an Expedition.
  5. I would assume the "other crossover" would be: 1. Aviator, companion to the next-gen Explorer. 2. The Model E electric/hybrid small CUV. 3. A different smaller (i.e. Smaller than the Edge) CUV, alike an "Outback" version of a Focus. 4. A different Lincoln CUV below the MKC.
  6. I'm with you. I really liked the EcoSport before the refresh...though the new interior looks great.
  7. I'd think a Focus-sized sedan is a must for China. I wonder if it would be based on the Ford EV/Hybrid car?
  8. Well, they should have at least a MKZ successor, an MKC successor, and an updated MKX over the next two years. Plus the Aviator and maybe surprise or two over the next three.
  9. Well, the MKX will get an MCE for the 2019 or 2020 model year, and the MKC replacement is expected at the same time. Plus the Aviator in 2020 or 2021. Plus the MKZ replacement. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a Lincoln come off of the EV/Hybrid platform Ford is developing. Possibly a compact/premium sedan and CUV?
  10. The 4.0V6 made 210hp while the 4.6V8 made something like 290-300hp. I'd say that's quite a difference.
  11. Perhaps Ranger for LA and Bronco for Detroit? But Ford should have a busy auto show schedule of reveals over the next two-three years. That will be nice as o feel like it's been way too quiet over the past 2-3.
  12. I'm 90% sure that had more to do with the projected further decline in sedan sales than in any political factors.
  13. This is why we should demand that cars have a set price, like every single other mass produced product. It's ridiculous that cars are treated like houses. I would love it if Ford and Lincoln adopted the Saturn pricing strategy
  14. My problem with malls, is that unless you're interested in clothes, jewelry, or sunglasses...there are essentially no stores in my mall to even bother with. When I was a kid the mall had toy stores, book stores, electronics stores, etc. Now all of them are gone. There's no incentive for me to go to the mall just to "look around" because 90% of the mall are clothes, jewelry, or sunglasses.
  15. But the EcoSport and the C-Max/Model E are/will be priced very differently.
  16. I could see a Spark-like CUV being a hit. I know a few Spark owners who love them.
  17. Again. These will be new nameplates, and the usuallyvreliable Automotive News implies that the other two new SUVs/CUVs coming to the Ford brand will be on the small side.
  18. That article also implies the other two models will be on the small side.
  19. An article in Autonotive News says that the EcoSport and Lincolns do not count.
  20. Today at the Expedition event, Hinrichs once again said that Ford has five more SUVs/Crossovers coming over the next few years. Two of them have been confirmed, the Bronco and the Electric CUV (Model E, or the platform-mate of the Model E?). What else could these things be? What segments could they cover? For now I'm assuming that they are not including Lincoln in this count of five. Option 1: I do have a concept that the Flex could be replaced with a long-wheelbase Explorer (similar to a Tahoe v Suburban or Expedition v Expedition Max), giving more room in the third row or more cargo space. It could share interiors, engines, tailgate and front doors, but have a unique front end...they could even called it an Explorer Flex to capture loyal Flex buyers. Option 2 : Ford has a habit of calling performance or specialized models as unique nameplates, such as the Raptor, Focus ST, Fusion Energi, etc. I wonder if the next generation Escape will get a Hybrid/PHEV version, sharing powertrains with the next generation Fusion's Hybrid/PHEV. I also wonder if the Bronco will get a performance version, like the Raptor. Option 3: Since a lot of the growth will come from the bottom end of the market, I wonder if the current/next gen EcoSport (I REALLY wish they had changed the name for North America) would be paired with a "funkier/sportier" model. Nissan has the upcoming Rogue Sport to cover the "B-CUV segment" on the conservative end, and the Juke to cover the "Sporty/Funky/Unique" end. Could Ford do the same? I bet this kind of model would do well in Europe, as Citroen and other carmakers have had great success. Any other ideas out there?
  21. Two. The Tahoe and Suburban have the 5.3, the Yukon and Yukon XL have the 5.3, the Denali versions of the GMCs and the Escalade have the 6.2.
