  1. I know most of you guys like PHEV, but I have no interest in them. I’d buy a hybrid or a full ev.
  2. I can’t tell any difference between this and a regular Maverick.
  3. Man I hope not. The light bar on the lightning looks cheap as hell, not to mention every new Chevy EV has one too.
  4. For me, it looks like an afterthought. It’s not integrated into the design very well and it makes the top of the grille look unfinished. I don’t know if it’s the lack of black plastic, or the smaller headlights or grille, but the front end looks much lower to the ground now. The proportions of the whole thing seems to be slightly off.
  5. https://www.motor1.com/news/592377/2023-ford-escape-spy-reveal/ The new front end helps, but not as much as I thought it would. Also, what were they thinking with that light bar?
  6. I’ve seen more bronco sports on the road then I have seen escapes and the escape has been out twice as long. I have not seen a single man driving a bronco sport. I think the demographic ford was aiming for with the escape is buying the sport instead. If ford offered a sport with 2WD that was priced around the same as an escape, I have no doubt that ford could drop the escape and the sport would do just as many sales to cover both. if ford plans on keeping the escape, they need to completely rethink its design. The refresh will help, it gets rid of the front end that looks like it’s smiling at you, but it needs more. The body already looks dated like it’s from the same era as the fusion. I think it’s a great opportunity to make something sporty. Something similar to the mach e with less mustang influence but still with an aggressive design. Use the mavericks powertrain, hybrid standard, 2.0 optional. They could even carry over a lot of the interior from the mach e. Maybe keep the center stack and change the dash to incorporate the 12” IP.
  7. I hate the idea of different vehicles sharing names. We are two years in to the bronco sport and people are still confusing it with the bronco. it was stupid with the explorer, and it’s still stupid with the bronco and mustang. Build a vehicle that people want, and it will sell itself. You don’t need marketing gimmicks.
  8. Ford really needs to work on its marketing team. Naming a black accent package is not something that needs to hyped up on Twitter. Nobody cares and you probably pissed more people off with this who were expecting something better.
  9. it looks ok from some angles, and I like the rear. The front is kinda meh. The profile however just looks odd. Proportions seem off, hood isn’t long enough, and the roof and windshield slant back too much. It looks like they were going for a sleeker, more modern interpretation of the aviator, but just missed the mark a bit. I was a big fan of concept cars back in the days and was disappointed when everyone stopped making them. But then I realized there was always a huge letdown between a concept and what ended up in production. I think I prefer the “production ready” concepts that have been rolling out the pst few years. At least you know that the production will at least be somewhat similar.
  10. It looks a bit truckish to me. Initial impression is not good, but I’m sure that will change when it’s fully unveiled. I do like the interior from what little we can see.
  11. I wish this was based off of the stx instead of the xl. The stx grille and color matched bumpers give it a sportier look. The pic from the msn article is a bit grainy when you zoom in, but the wheels look similar to the ranger splash wheels, which are the same as the bronco outer banks wheels without the machining. They are also 18” wheels which match what the article says.
  12. That was a pretty cool truck. Chevy has two versions of the trail boss. Maybe this will compete with the cheaper one.
  13. Rattler ties in with cobra so it could be a street truck, but it’s not the 90’s anymore ? and they specifically said “on the trail” in the tweet.
  14. Hard to imagine what this would be. Ford seems to have off road variants covered pretty well with raptor, tremor and fx4. Where would Rattler fit in to that hierarchy? As 02MustangGT said, maybe it’s the Raptor R, but with ford choosing raptor over warthog for the bronco, I don’t see them deviating from the Raptor name here. A budget friendly off roader would be a nice surprise.
  15. I’m not buying any vehicle that missing features that I want. I usually keep my vehicles around 5 years or so. That means I’d be without those features for possibly 20% of my ownership. That’s a big ask. If they aren’t compensating me for that 20% then I’m not buying. With that said, I can see how some are in a tight spot with this. Maybe you need a vehicle for work or your current vehicle broke down. In those situations you don’t really have the luxury to wait.
  16. If I were in the market for a minivan, this would probably be at the top of my list.
  17. I know the grill is jeeps thing, but I really wish they would abandon it on anything not named wrangler. IMO it makes their vehicles look dated.
  18. I’ve always thought the RS front end looked really good. It looks good here too. The rear pillar kick up ruins it for me though. I think of it went straight across, it would look much better.
  19. This looks like one of those Chinese knock off vehicles trying to look like a Mazda.
  20. I’m wondering if ford shot themselves in the foot with pushing out 4 new vehicles during the pandemic (bronco sport, bronco, Maverick and mach-e). You can’t release a vehicle and not have any to sell, so ford is forced to give some of its limited chip supply to vehicles like the Maverick and bronco sport which probably don’t pull in as much money as f150, explorer, etc. I would have still proceeded with the mach e since it’s only produced in limited numbers and of course the bronco because it’s wildly popular, but it might have been wise to delay the Maverick and the bronco sport. Are sales of those vehicles with declining sales of your money makers?
  21. Really liking the sport trim. Also the interior accent lighting looks pretty cool. Is this also available on the ranger?
  22. Someone had previously asked about the raptors weight. Ford authority came out with an article that had some stats in it. https://fordauthority.com/2022/02/2023-ford-ranger-raptor-will-be-lighter-than-current-model-exclusive/ the 2021 ranger raptor weighs 5238 and the 2023 will weigh 5163 per the article.
  23. But that’s pretty similar to today’s autos that let you shift
  24. Per motor1, it comes standard with the 12” screen, however it looks like you don’t get the camera. Makes sense due to the winch blocking the a lot of the view.
  25. They were so close with the Everglades but still had to make a few strange decisions. They just can’t seem to get it all together in one package imo. Ford needs to offer these wheels and squared fender flares on the other trims. Outer banks with the high package, Sasquatch, and those wheels and fender flares, with the black badges from the wildtrak is my perfect bronco.
