  1. Best compromise would be a 6.2 SD, comparably equipped they are a few grand more than 150.
  2. Since when was the 302 the premier engine choice in a Bronco? ?
  3. Since there is no comparison of a Jeep with an IFS I would say using two vehicles that are comparable with the different suspensions is a pretty good way of showing that there is little difference in driving dynamics... I wasn’t comparing the two vehicles... but rather comparing the suspensions between two like vehicles...
  4. It’s apples to apples, same class of vehicle one with SFA and one with IFS to illustrate that there is no great difference in ride quality between the two setups. If anything the Jeep probably has a lot of wind noise and other dynamics that have nothing to do with the axle set up. Maybe I should go tell the people I see cruising at 80 down the highway in new Wranglers that it’s terrible? Ford has enough mall cruisers in their SUV lineup. Don’t ruin the Bronco with IFS.
  5. Suck to drive down a freeway on? Bit of an exaggeration. I drive plenty of Super Duty’s and Silverado HD’s at work and there is no great difference in ride quality like some who have never driven them think. Solid axle in the market Bronco is targeting has more pluses than minuses.
  6. I thought the 4.3 was gone like 10 years ago to be honest ?.
  7. I would consider the 6.2 to be fairly low tech for an engine nowadays also. Very reliable too.
  8. In comparison to the Eco Boost the NA is much simpler.
  9. I prefer the simplicity of the NA V8 and ya the sound is a nice selling feature. I can’t see the V8 F-150 going anywhere for a long time as long. As the Mustang has a V8 which I assume/hope is for the rest of my lifetime.
  10. Nice to see the pending TRX pushed Ford to reconsider the no V8 option, which the Raptor should have always had IMO.
  11. Interesting for sure, I wonder how it makes sense to make a seperate steel cab (from 20 something years ago) and interior bits rather than just switch over to the new aluminum cab.
  12. Yes, not a video from Ford though. 6.2 has never been offered in anything above 350. Media from Ford yesterday “New for 2020 Super Duty chassis cab, customers can choose from three engines - the 7.3 liter gas V8, a third generation 6.7 liter Power Stroke or a 6.2 liter gas V8” I think they took that as all CC will have 6.2 when in actuality it’s probably only 350.
  13. Doesn’t have much to do with cab style changes? Sounds like a business decision to me.
  14. Seems it would be cheaper to replace a cab in limited production with the one used extensively on other products. Makes Ford look cheap IMO also.
  15. Wonder why they kept the old SD cab on Medium Duty?
  16. IFS is disappointing, hopefully a special edition/model with SFA is available.
  17. Yup, the sound difference alone would be worth it. Hearing a new Raptor it’s as if Honda or Toyota built the motor. ? Atleast now we can stop talking about EB 5.0’s or the like in SD’s as Ford themselves admits that the Ecotrash is nothing more than a marketing gimmick that doesn’t cut it in the real trucks. They must have gotten tired of the GM 6.2 beating them in performance and economy and more than likely long term reliability.
  18. 7.3 will likely not weigh much more than 6.2 that had no problems being in last gen Raptor. Based on what we have heard with 7.3 being 50lbs less than V10 it could actually be around 120lbs more than 3.5EB. ?
  19. Because Ford’s building a new big block and the Raptor is supposed to be the baddest truck Ford builds. EB V6 is the most overrated motor on the market today from Ford. The 7.3 would put out similar power NA, should be more reliable long term, cheaper to build, and sound a heck of a lot better. It’s not like the EB’s have earth shattering fuel economy either.
  20. Raptor needs this motor, it most assuredly fits and how much more would the 7.3 weigh? I feel most Raptor buyers would prefer a V8 if the option.
  21. I don’t really think the type of people who will be buying the 7.3 want AFM anyway.
