  1. With some effort, you could get lucky with finding the transport company serving your rail yard. The auto ramp where mine was unloaded was run by CSX and I was able to find (through trial and error) that United Road was the hauler serving that particular ramp. The information you can get is limited; not unloaded (inactive), unloaded (pending pickup), in route (on it’s way to the dealer) and delivered (self explanatory). There is no “schedule”, they pick it up when they pick it up. Mine was at the ramp for 4 days this time, but on another order a couple of years ago it was sitting there 14 days.
  2. In that case, that is one big azz alternator
  3. Not sure why that is funny? The 7.3 with snow plow prep has two batteries and two alternators. Were you poking fun at the other guy for saying his alternator (singular) was 397 amps?
  4. I think that by the time you bought all the parts and installed them correctly you will have exceeded the cost of a capable generator. Also consider that the battery or batteries in a truck are not deep cycle, they are for short intermittent loads. Running them down repeatedly will drastically shorten their life. On the F150’s with this option, hybrids will run off the lithium batteries until a certain point and then the truck starts to recharge everything. On non-hybrid F150’s and also on the Super Duty, the truck has to be running for the system to operate. I would much rather run my 60 lb. one cylinder, gas-sipping, quiet generator (Generac GP3000i) than my big block gas hog V8 to power my RV.
  5. The sensor is the same for manual or auto hvac systems. The difference is that on the manual system, it is only used for the remote start to heat or cool to bring cabin temp to 72°F.
  6. Agreed. My Batch was 004807 and my Build was 1455/3052
  7. Hey, maybe we will cross paths. Every year we hook up the camper and travel from New England to visit my wife's family in Muskegon and then loop up to the Keweenaw (Chassell, Houghton/Hancock area) for another week to visit the rest of her family and pick copper from mine tailings
  8. I am happy to report that I was able to use my PCO on the 4th! It was by the skin of my teeth because we locked in the paperwork at 4:30 pm Monday (about 15 minutes after the truck was unloaded). Having that $3,000 off was certainly very nice since they are not doing X-plan at the moment. The truck is in my driveway and is everything I had hoped for!
  9. Joe, When you are on the first tracking page, where you enter your VIN, there should be an option to register your email address. Once you do that, then you can go to the OVISS login page where you can enter your email address and a password. I hit Forgot password and it sent me a link to create a new one. Once that is done, you can log in and see every vehicle going to your selected dealer, receive email notifications of pickup and delivery receipts. My truck was listed as "Inactive Order" while in transit. When it was unloaded, it went to "pending Pick-up" then to "in Route" when it was on the way to the dealer, and then "Delivered" once it was dropped off and signed for.
  10. Ford projected our delivery date to be 4/9....it came in 4/4 (this morning 4/6 it still says in transit even though it has been in my driveway for 24 hours now). I am not saying that to boast, but once it leaves the factory, you are at the mercy of the shippers and their schedules (plural, because you likely have both rail carriers and final transport companies to deal with). I have had vehicles that took 6 weeks from shipment to arrival at the dealer, and I have had them as quick as 10 days, both times with the same start and end locations, so go figure? Typically the delays come in at the destination ramp unloading the rail cars, availability of room to park the vehicles after unloading, and how many other vehicles are in line in front of you. Keep in mind that these rail yards and final transport companies typically service multiple manufacturers, and there could be a sea of vehicles waiting to be transported that final leg. My final transport had 3 Super Duty trucks, and 1 Bronco, but had to drop off 2 Subaru's, and a Toyota before getting to the Ford Dealer with my truck on board. I too had a credibility issue with my dealer saying they couldn't look anything up when I knew they could, so I did it myself.
  11. 22 F250 CC SB XLT, 7.3, 4X4, FX4, Moon Roof, Sticker 3,470#.
  12. We have always gotten pretty good MPG's with the F150. It has the 3.5L Twin Turbo so unloaded, it did really well on the highway (having 3:31 gears is also part of that). Towing our 7,500 lb. camper, and the truck loaded up, we averaged a bit under 10 MPG.
  13. You could always give a call to Ford Marketing. They were VERY helpful to me and they ask for your contact information for future marketing purposes (this is one way to get on a PCO list). Another reason to call marketing is because some people call and find out they had an offer on the books and didn’t even know it!
  14. I googled car haulers serving my closest ramp (East Brookfield, MA). Diversified was one and United Road was another. Diversified didn’t really have a tracking option but United Road did so I plugged in my VIN and it popped up. The rest is history.
  15. We just traded our 2015 F150 XLT SuperCrew 3.5L Ecoboost with just a tad over 90k miles. We bought it used 3 years and 35,000 miles ago and our trade value was $500 less than what we bought it for so no complaints! Funny how the interiors between that and our new truck are nearly identical. Although we loved the truck and the relatively decent gas mileage (22-23 mpg highway and 9-10 towing our camper), we love our new F250!
  16. I had the same line from my dealer. I told exactly where to look and what to click and what I needed and he said they can’t get that info. I made a request on the Ford employee section and he gave me the rail car number, date of shipping and dealer ETA. I emailed my salesman and said here you go since you couldn’t get this yourself. When it came to my $3,000 PCO, he said he had no control over it, so I called Ford marketing, got all the info he needed, provided it to him and walked him through the process to request an extension if my truck sale was not completed in time (4/4 expiration date). When my truck left the yard yesterday morning, I was tracking it in real-time watching the icon move along the map. I called my salesman and said the truck will be there in a few minutes, let’s get this written up now to save time and wrap it up today and preserve my discount. He said it won’t get here today, they haven’t even left the ramp and there is no telling when they might. I sent him a screenshot of the tracking and said it’s almost there, he said no it isn’t. I said look out the front window. He says yeah, a hauler just pulled in. I said let me guess, 2 blue super duties, my silver super duty and a green Bronco? Silence. Then we work on completing the deal and he says I need a picture of your cash reward, I said no you don’t, here is the certificate number, my customer ID and the offer code. He said we need the physical card, I said nope, I gave you all you need. You have confirmed my info, confirmed that my offer is active, I have confirmed with Ford and now that we all know it is valid, we also all know that you don’t need the actual card. Then I asked him after all this time if he still thinks I don’t know more about this than he does or is it that he is just being a jerk? Silence. We picked up the truck today and in our parting conversation he asked how I knew all this info and how I was able to track my truck so accurately from the Dearborn plant….my wife laughed out loud, literally laughed out loud and pointed to the sticker on the windshield Proudly Made at the Kentucky Truck Plant, Louisville Kentucky. Silence. Good talk
  17. We have a trip planned for the end of the month, but not sure if we will quite crack 1,000 miles by then. I think close might be good enough as long as we do everything else right. Today was our first day with the truck (7.3L gas) and we managed 85 miles. I was a little surprised that our average mpg was 16.1 on a brand new truck (but nowhere near the 23.5 we averaged on the F150 on the way to the dealership).
  18. Here we are at the dealer! We feel very blessed because we were able to stumble upon a dealer stock order at a dealer about an hour away just a few weeks ago just as the VIN was released. It checked off all the boxes for us and then some, so we secured it with a deposit and kept our fingers crossed that this would all come together before 4/4 when my $3,000 PCO expired. Long story short, the truck came in late yesterday 4/4, we finalized the deal through email and doc-u-sign, I got my rebate and I went to pick up the truck today. Probably the best part is that my wife loves the truck! 19. Good morning, thank you for your prior assistance on tracking my truck. I am heading out shortly to pick it up and bring it home and will send pics later. My Brother in law has a truck on order and mine coming in has made him jealous. Would you be able to look up his status? He does not have a VIN that he is aware of yet, but the other information is: Dealer Code - F11532 Order - T124 Thanks so much!
  20. Don’t be so sure, mine was built 3-4 days before the recall was announced and it has the updated software and is not included in the notification. My truck arrived at the dealer today and with any luck, I should have it by the end of this week.
  21. The inverter is only on when the truck is on and for a few minutes after the truck is off (just like the accessories).
  22. Once I found that United Road was the hauler, I went to their website and punched in the VIN. It gives you an opportunity to sign up for alerts and once I did that I have been able to track it at the click of a mouse
  23. It has arrived at the dealer and according to the delivery receipt, no dents dings or scratches (unlike two of the other vehicles on the load). Just completed my e-sign docs and working to schedule a pick up
