How can he sell the Euro Focus here & now with an all new US Focus? He can't. But, if the all new US Focus becomes the the all new Escort, then the Euro Focus could come as early as 2008. Why else would they bring back the Escort unless this is the plan? i think the biggest problem will be with pricing...The focus can't be made much cheaper then it is now and bringing over a Euro Focus and sloting it between the Escort and Fusion would make it wind up like the Contour. It's probably a good idea not to invite comparison to the EU Focus, the NA Focus no-longer shares much in common so it should be renamed, but Escort is a REALLY bad choice (I guarantee this is bogus). The thing that makes it particularly bogus is the ZX2 moniker which I can't image returning. They might as well call it Escort GT. This is the Neon of our age, extremely old, extremely mediocre, and extremely tachy . This is going to fail anyway you slice it, I'm absolutely positive it will be rejected whole-heartedly. However, I am not going to be so vocal in predicting its failure. Having coasted past the "Don't trust anyone over 30" point last year, and being well into the "If it's too loud, you're too old" phase of my life (I own a Sable, for crying out loud), I am not going to impose my taste on the target customers for this vehicle (college grads, for whom the car is simply a lifestyle accessory).
