Wow Im impressed twintornados. Where do you work in some little hole in the wall garage in Eastcuttybumfuck? The reason domestics are cheaper to fix is because they BREAK DOWN MORE...there's plenty of rebuildable parts out there. Japs do cost more to repair for parts...but I will say this I had a 90 Prelude and a 91 Corolla...both still ran with damn near 300000 miles....and BOTH had their original starter and alternator when I got rid of them. How many piece of shit Ford, GM or Chryslers can say that? As far as not knowing what Im talking about...BLOW ME!!!!!

Poor "Tommy Boy"...anger again! I worked for a national chain of auto repair facilities in several capacities from service writer, mechanic, back shop manager, and department manager, I also worked in independent garages as well as my own driveway...I had to deal with mechanics with additudes similar to yours and I fired them for it. You obviously know a lot with your whopping 2 1/2 years of experience wrenching Fords. Congrats to your own experiences with your japanese cars....and as for your comment of engaging in deviant sexual copulation....sorry guy, your not my type and/or gender. :hysterical:

Oh man, you really need to check to see if your insurance covers anger management classes.

DAMN FORDS %^&*%$ AAAHHHH%$^&*^ I HATE THEIR ASHTRAYS TOO!! #$%@^& GURK !!

And yet another well worded rant from our favourite raving lunatic, the 38 year old know it all named tommy boy. LOL!! At what point does he go from sputtering obscenities, to making death threats and running to a bell tower?

Haha, what a moron, can you imagine going into a shop with that thing freaking out because a bolt won't go in? I can hear him now, screeching like a little girl and throwing wrenches. No wonder he only worked on fords for two years, there is probably a restraining order directly from FORD! LOL!!!

Well twintornado it sounds like you work for one of those chains who we've all seen on 20/20. I dont care who you work for really you have no idea how it is in a dealer environment until you've worked there. Ford dealers especially are shark tanks...everyone scrambling for every penny they can. and the reson I worked there only for 2-1/2 years is because I got smart and got out. There is no hope at a Ford dealer as a tech unless you are a gravy grabbing dick sucking ass kisser.

Oh...I didn't mention working as a salesman at a Toyota dealership since I didn't work in the backshop...but seeing as you brought it up (working at a dealership) Got a huge news flash for ya "Tommy Boy"....the Toyota mechanics are the same sharks you claim to have seen at the Ford dealership....I have seen the Toyota shop "fix" a customer car with parts off a car on the lot....charge Toyota for the job, then bring the donor car in for warranty work and hit Toyota again....waddaya think there "Tommy Boy"....you were the only one to see the inner workings of a dealership?

Don't think for a minute that the gates of heaven open and harps begin to play when you walk into the Toyota repair shop....the same guy that owns the Toyota dealership...owns the Ford store up the street.

I know EXACTLY what goes on. Everyone in dealers scams warranty isnt that what its there for? Seriously that is my biggest peeve when some heavy warranties a part that is clearly not warranty. Used cars that get fixed under warranty so the fuckin tightwad owner can make even more money, families cars getting fixed for nothing etc. That part of dealers is all the same. But I literally make twice as much money now as I did only 4years ago. Somethings got to be better.PS Sorry about being a penis the last few messages, you seem like a decent guy. I apologize, sometimes I get a little crazy on here it wont happen again.

No action over there thats for sure....I work on them all day dont want to think about them when I leave :nonono:

But, but, they never break! they're made by asians who know how to build quality, not like dumb ol round eye americans! How come your working on them, I thought ....oh wait....I get it, they are in for oil changes and accident repairs! AHH, got ya, ok, back to our regular program of bashing domestic's and gushing over anything foriegn.

Yup, heard they made another eleventy bajillion dollars today because americans are to stupid to build a good car..maybe when america has as much experience building cars as japan does we'll figure it out. (wait a minute, which jap car company has been around over 100 years.....)

He cannot be a mechanic for Toyota...they never ever break, therefore they have no need of him............unless.

Maybe they dress him up as a schoolgirl and take advantage of him in the back room, Japs just love that.

No need to get racial man. What some sick old filthy rich guys do isn't telling of a population.

Unless you think Americans should be judged by hollywood/ porn industry's portrayal of America.

Just saying, we know America's reliability scores are slowly improving, no need to get racial.

Obviously Toyotas do break sometimes. Usually its just maintenance and easy stuff-brakes, timing belts etc. Not a lot of warranty stuff but what is warranty pays a hell of a lot better than Ford or DCX did. I used to think they were the best cars out there, and they are still pretty good but not the best now that Ive really seen how they are. I dont know who has the best now. As far as the schoolgirl comment goes, Ebritt you're welcome to come over and try to put a schoolgirl outfit on me-you might not like it too much though :slap:

Tom,

Seeing as you work on Toyota product, I am glad that you stepped up and admitted that they too break. My prediction is now that Camry is in the hands of so many consumers....you will see a slow shift to poorly maintained cars that will become expensive to repair.

Back in the day when I sold Toyota (early 90's) There weren't as many people buying them compared to Ford and GM, and the main customer was chiefly higher educated professionals that rarely, if ever missed a service cycle, and always had the service done at the dealerships with factory genuine parts.

Fast forward to today and Camry is being bought in droves by people that used to buy Fords and Chevrolets. The same droves that drive them into the ground, and get the cheapest place they can find to fix them.....oil change intervals are going by, cheap-o bulk tank oil being used (wrong viscosity too no doubt), clogged filters, no tire rotations being done, service checks being ignored....once the hallmark of the domestic crowd....now being done to Toyotas and Hondas...as you already know as a mechanic, no car can be ignored like that and expect to get good use out of it forever.

Couple that with the latest round of dealer consolidations where long standing smaller dealerships (where the owner of the place had an office there, and his wife was his secretary) are being bought up by mega dealers whose first, last, and always concern is the almighty dollar sign. The older, smaller dealerships actually gave a $H!t about your business, and when a mechanic made a mistake on your car....the owner would come to you and apologize and make it right...now its, "hide it and charge more if you can."

I hope that something changes, but it doesn't look good....mega dealers will slowly push small local shops out of business, then to increase their bottom line, get rid of the higher skilled mechanics that get paid more money due to their education and experience and replace them with "service sharks" as you call them...little concern for actually doing a good job....just fix it quick and move on to the next job. That happened at my hometown Ford store....all the higher paid mechanics were canned and replaced by a bunch of kids that worked for less $$$ and the backshop quality went right out the window. It is already happening at the Toyota store my parents bought their Camry at...they refuse to bring it back there for service and either drive it to the next town for service or have me do it, because as my father says, "At least when you service it, I know it is done right."

Is there a way to make this into a commercial?? Doubtful, but I am sure it can be done if we try.

Thats what happened at the Ford dealer I worked at..Old man Rizzo ran it for 20 years but had a stroke. Sons took over made some poor decisions and the place went under in less than 4 years. There are at least 7 or 8 Ford dealers in RI where I live...someones gotta go! RI is only about a 2000 sq mile area.

I've had lots.....what else.....let's see.....

Show a demolition derby with old crown vic's and impala's destroying toyota's and honda's and in the end show the driver crawling out of the CV with the checkered flag.

Voice over " Built ford tough includes the cars too"

I was just jerking your chain. In other words, if your posting..what about an ad?

Sorry if it riled you up, wasn't the intent.

How about.....Boy asking his grandfather while looking at a new ford. "grampy, what fords beat the japanese when you were a kid"?

Grandfather answers "the fords were called b-24 liberators"

Voice over "Ford, fighting the japanese invasion for over 60 years"

:hysterical:
