pcsario
Ford NA is a shithole affecting everything the way things are going, it may not be long before Ford has to find a buyer for itself. I agree, selling LR and Jag will hardly make any difference. Then again the Bo's and Luke's here will disagree. "Bububu how does a nav screen look like? I know luxury, negatards." ZanatWork
LOL! The forum's queen of nonsensical rants has created a new "waste of time for the informed" thread! How come there was recent news with a MUCH higher number of people having taken their buyouts? This one shows 27,000...gosh When someone is babbling about schedules and won't even cite current news...well...it's up their with the negatard's own "bububbu". Thanks for playing, and continuing to define "loser" for everyone else here. Edited June 21, 2007 by ZanatWork
igor
Ford has yet to say that they are in fact looking to sell Jag and LR and you are judging them on it already? when AM was for sale we knew it - they told us .. Now Ford just says that "they are reviewing al operations as all bussiness do" and people take it a confirmation of the sale - while it was a negation of one .. anyways ... goingincirclez
Now Ford just says that "they are reviewing al operations as all bussiness do" Also known as "The DaimlerChrysler Bluff"... I'm sure all business "review operations" behind closed doors in secret as a matter of due course. I mean, that's how you RUN a BUSINESS. For there to be a more public, tacit admission of such, would seem to imply there's a little more to the story. At the very least, you can't help but think so. It's not "business as usual" if someone has to assure you it is. Edited June 21, 2007 by goingincirclez
LincolnFan
BOF is seriously getting boring these days with all of these bubububu ford is daying. Please no more "C1 Focus and Ford Falcon to US" or "SELLING JLR IS BAHD" topics.
pcsario
Bububu calling cars from Korean manufactures "Korean" makes you a racist. Not agreeing with me makes you a negatard, even if you're a cheerleader. What's a nav screen? I'm a luxury specialist. Continuing to define "loser" for everyone else here indeed. Keep it up. pcsario
BTW the article deals with Ford's turnaround, hardly even implies a sale has been set in stone. That's not the point they're trying to make. Plan is failing, that's it. Edited June 21, 2007 by pcsario
NickF1011
Plan is failing, get over it. Hmmm...in just the past 12 months: losses have shrunk considerably, retail sales have stabilized, the new products have been exceeding expectations, quality has improved dramatically, warranty costs have shrunk. Where exactly is the 'failure' here? Ford stated clear as day that the turnaround results wouldn't be fully seen until 2009. Here we are 2 years prior to that and analysts (and certain naysayers) are expecting them to already be raking in billions in profit? pcsario
Why are they even CONSIDERING getting rid of LR and Volvo if things were going so well? Plan's either WAY behind schedule, or failing. Something's going up, that's their point. Even Ford admits they've missed several targets.
pcsario
I don't want any brands from PAG touched over Lincoln, especially Volvo. Face it, they're fucking up the operations of an entire CONTINENT purely because of the mess called Ford NA. Bring the past back all you want, you never ended up being fucked because of FOE's mistakes.

The amount of speculation in the media of how HARD they are considering it is what drives me nuts. Ford hasn't said definitively in any context whatsoever that the two brands will be put up for sale, but that hasn't stopped everyone from assuming that they will be. Ford admits they have missed targets - and specified that they did NOT miss them by very much. Ford has also EXCEEDED targets for sales on several new products -- where does that fit into the equation?

I don't know, maybe money isn't coming up as planned, no PR will ever say things are going bad, recall Jr's lies ("Turnaround is working") until the last moment. 68Cougar
Maybe they should move corp headquarters off shore, and keep a few plants like the imports. Then Ford would have the essence of an import brand, which some Americans might like. Hey, it worked when Ford of France was sold off, which was a big basket case. BlackHorse
Oh boy, just a couple of world class losers, this guy and Tommy, you know. Just pathetic. It's sad really. I find that disgusting, that's all. Figure out if you're going or coming before you post someting numb nuts. Oh wait, wait, I know, you're doing this because you soooo love Ford and you sooooo want it to do well. Sort a warpped tuff love kind of thing I guess. Yet strangely no one here can seem to remember when you have ever, ever, given Ford credit for the good things that have happened. All we get from you is shit like this. Because you're a loser. jpd80
BTW the article deals with Ford's turnaround, hardly even implies a sale has been set in stone. That's not the point they're trying to make. Plan is failing, that's it. Remembering the US is in recession and Ford is spending big money to make permanent changes that are still happening for the rest of this year and 2007 Q2 will be out in about 2 weeks time. I'm not critising you but I think you should hold your judgement until then. The only real way you can judge Ford's performance is by quarterly financial reports and so far there's only been one - 2007 Q1 which this article does not even consider: http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=25859 First-quarter highlights included: Revenue of $43 billion. Net loss of 15 cents per share, or $282 million, for the first quarter of 2007. Loss of 9 cents per share, or $171 million, from continuing operations excluding special items.** Ford Motor Credit pre-tax profit of $294 million. Automotive gross cash at March 31, 2007 was $35.2 billion, including cash and cash equivalents, net marketable securities, loaned securities and short-term Voluntary Employee Benefits Association (VEBA) assets.*** Strong performance of new U.S. products including Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, Ford F-Series Super Duty, Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner. Successful public introduction of the all-new Ford Mondeo and redesigned Ford C-MAX at the Geneva Motor Show. Record Premier Automotive Group profits. Ford Europe pre-tax profits of $219 million, an increase of $154 million compared with a year ago. Cost savings of $500 million, $400 million of which was associated with North America – bringing total cumulative cost savings to $1.9 billion toward the 2008 target of reducing annual operating costs by $5 billion compared with 2005. Reduction of 18,000 personnel positions in North America. Sale of one Automotive Components Holdings (ACH) business during the quarter and agreement in principle reached to sell two other ACH businesses – bringing to four the total number of ACH businesses currently subject to agreements in principle for sale. Agreement to sell Automobile Protection Corporation (APCO) – finalized in April. Agreement to sell Aston Martin. Continued improvement in quality. These are the facts, not emotional rhetoric.
