The prodo type Ford flex is on the street. we All know now! why ford was in secret talks with toyota back in 2003. I think ford needs to ramp up production quick. I currently need a vehicle such as this. however I would want such a vehicle to run on nitrogen or some other type of hybred other than ethenol . Being a ex ford worker I swore off ever buying a foreign vehicle. But the fact is I now travel more ,not on the highway but within 30 miles of my house I can average about 150 miles a day for milage .spending at 79.00 a fill up I can keep my 5.4 f150 in the garage for when I have to tow the boat .and I can get a scion xb practatly free.heres the break down 79.00 gas times 3 times per week 237per week.never mind i'm drunk

The Flex is a fine looking vehicle. It will not save Ford because Ford is in no danger of going under. It will probably make Ford some money, though. They will be out by early next summer. It is a 2009 model.

I saw a Flex on streets of Northville yesterday. All white , no blacked out body panels, no bras or other camo. All I can say is good luck............

WOW.... I don't know what you've been smokin but it must be good....

"The Flex is a fine looking vehicle" Some how I think you'll be the only one saying that.

"Ford is in no danger of going under" Ford is a long way from being out of danger, they need product and the Flex isn't that product.

A Scion XB!?!?

Screw that. What good is 35MPG if people are laughing at you.

If you want great gas mileage AND admiring looks from the ladies buy a Harley. It gets 50 MPG and makes even ugly guys cool. Hell, it's probably even safer than an XB in a crash.

The Flex is not going to save Ford, they missed the boat when they tried to use the name plate "500" on a vehicle that should not have changed the Taurus. The "500" should have been used for a brand new style of vehicle that is a sports type of car. Ford needs another entry level car to help with the young drivers and lower income individuals or families. The need to look to the past to help with the future a redisigned escort maybe with a new name, but I would still use the ZX2 name plate. Younger customers are looking for gas milage and a good look so you need to build for that. It was not long ago when you would pull up to a major stop light and see 3 to 4 escorts. That is what we need again.

Right. Losers can afford to spend $20,000 on a motorcycle.

And Harleys have higher resale value percentages than Mercedes or Lexus.

By the way genius, who do you think is buying those $45,000 Harley edition F-Series trucks?

wanna-bes that don't own bikes.

Sorry dude, most Harley's you see are not the brand new $20k ones.

Oh, and lets talk about all of the losers that wear Harley gear without owning a bike. There is no other manufacturer that attracts so many losers as Harley Davidson. Whether they own the bike or not.

Which goes back to my original point, who is attracted to people with Harleys? Losers and Skanks.

You'd rather it was built in Mexico?

Of course I would like to see it built here in the USA. I just don't like the fact that Ford has chosen final assembly for most new vehicles out of the country. I know everyone's opinion will vary, but this is just another Ford product that I personally can not support. Sorry, thats just how I feel.

Ford posted a modest $750,000,000 profit in the second quarter. They have a lot of product. You are probably brainwashed to Jap tin. I drove a Toyota once. It was a rental. They couldn't get the check engine light to go off. I drove the piece of crap anyway. Very ugly, and uncomfortable.

You can in part thank your government and other tree-huggers like Savetheplanet.

Why would they build a vehicle that is D3-based in Canada and not Chicago like the Taurus/TaurusX?

One word (or acronym): CAFE

Corporate

Average

Fuel

Economy

It's the fuel economy average of the manufacturer's fleet of vehicles below 8,500 GVWR.

What does that have to do with the locasion of the plant that built the vehicle?

New CAFE Info

Currently the Crown Vic is considered an "Import" and therefore does not affect Ford's CAFE the same as if it was a "Domestic"

Well currently Ford shares are at $8.74 and Harley Davidson is at $57.15 so I'd say Harley is making good profit selling new bikes. I wish the local Ford dealerships were as modern and clean as the huge Harley dealerships in my area.

Are you including people like Jay Leno and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in your list of loser Harley Davidson owners?

Exactly. Neither does the Edge, MKX, Flex nor the coming Lincoln version. At least that is my understanding.
