pcsario
LINK COLOGNE, November 13, 2007– Ford of Europe's vehicle sales climbed by 8.4 per cent for the month of October when compared to last year. The increase was led by surging sales of the new Mondeo FOE

pcsario
Imagine that. Quality products and sales go...up. Nah, it's a wiser strategy to become Kia's main competitor. No need to compete with the Accord and all that other "overrated junk".
RichardJensen
Going by JD Power, Ford NA makes higher quality products than FoE. But that's not the point. In both Europe and the U.S., YTD Ford brand market share is basically unchanged. Ford is selling into a growing market. Context is a real bugger when you're trying to make everything black and white, eh?

Wheres your conservative alter ego anyway lol, I haven't seen him in a few hours. Look at that, you almost cover the spectrum. You have 2 Liberalish identities and a conservative one. You also seem to have a German one .

RichardJensen
I resent that. I was talking with a distinct Tory accent. You didn't read me saying, "Right then, that Jensen bloke sure knows his eggs."
RichardJensen
But anyway, back on topic: FoE is selling into a growing market, something Ford NA failed to do for years. FoE is also farther ahead than Ford NA, having hit its low point some years before Ford NA. That said, it is pointless to assert that the difference is in any way meaningful. pcsario
Going by JD Power, Ford NA makes higher quality products than FoE. There you have it folks, RJ finally accepts Ford NA is light years behind Honda in terms of "quality products". Unless, of course, he was just playing dumb regarding his interpretation for P71's definition of "quality product", as in "we went above good enough". suv_guy_19
as in "we went above good enough". Where do you come in as a "We" in Ford?
RichardJensen
There you have it folks, RJ finally accepts Ford NA is far behind Honda's quality as a whole. Unless, of course, he was just playing dumb regarding his interpretation for P71's definition of "quality product", as in "we went above good enough". Honda? Quality product? When did Honda get brought up, except by ----you--- just now. Have I not said, on this forum, repeatedly, that a '98-2002 Honda Accord 4-cylinder with a manual transmission may well be the most perfect 'appliance' car ever made? That there has probably never been a vehicle as practical AND reliable at the same time? With decent driving dynamics!! Because I could swear I've typed comments similar to those before. --- And as to Ford NA being far behind Honda...... Well look at Ford of Europe on the JD Power IQS. It's behind Ford NA, so where does that put Ford Europe? Furthermore, you could not find a reputable statistician at JD Power OR CU that would agree with the assertion that Ford NA's quality is 'far behind' Honda. --- You've gone crackers, mate. pcsario
Perhaps this wasn't clear enough. Going by JD Power, Ford NA makes higher quality products than FoE. And it's not a 90-day study, btw. You can't spin your way out of this one, Richard. Going by JD Power, Ford NA makes higher quality products than FoE. Well, using that same logic --your own logic and rules btw--, and considering this survey is the big one, then --indeed-- Ford NA is light years BEHIND Honda when it comes to "quality products". I'm glad you finally went on record about this, basically admitting Ford is far from being equal to someone who does build "quality products". RichardJensen
What's that brand up near the top.... The one that's one point ahead of Honda? MMmmmmmeeerrrkoree? Meeerkarie? RichardJensen
Also, what's the name of that study? The JD Power vehicle quality study, right? Oh crap, no it's the JD Power vehicle DEPENDABILITY study.
