elkarlo
Mazda didn't want to loose name recognition on the Tribute. Its just barely hanging on to its business case anyway, so, they figured they'd better not mess with it. At least, not mess with it any more than they did with this most recent restyle. I have to say, after seeing one in person, I much prefer the previous generation tribute looks. This is the exact opposite of my feelings on the Mariner and Escape which I think look better post update. As long as they can continue to make a profit sharing a little bit of production at the escape plant, why not? Yeah at least with that and the MPV it may get people onto the lot. Many people still want a minivan or a tradiaitonal SUV. That's who the Tirb and MPV will get to at least look at them. While their sales are low, they may be good at brining people in, and then maybe they'll buy a CX-7 or a 6 while they're there. Which is why I think Ford giving up on minivans altogether was a bad idea as well.
P71_CrownVic
And on the Eighth Day he created the Panther of the Blue Oval and low and behold it was good. For the Panther could hold much luggage and it had plenty of space for drunks and criminals. Eventhough the Panther was not the fastest or best handling of the Taxi and Law Enforcement beasts, it could take much abuse and no other could withstand a 70 mph smack to the rear end. And there would be numerous appearances on "Cops" and much rejoicing at the House of Donuts. Awesome. A+++
silvrsvt
1. Rav 4 Sales Doubled with the new model compared to the old model RAV4 Sales where in the dumper before the refresh... 2. Rav 4 Sells for a hefty Premium over the Escape Why buy a RAV4 when you can get a Cheaper Escape or a more refined Edge for the same money? Edstock
I wonder how much the RAV is taking from other Toyota 4x4 sales, considering how boring the Highlander is.

Mark B. Morrow
What's this? You're now Mark Morrow's alter ego? I didn't know I had an alter ego. Does it have a cool mask and cape? More of an Homage to my dad's '02 Grand Marquis. It's all black and looks like a cop car.

Pioneer
To put it bluntly, combined they are the #2 selling SUV platform. Even the Esacpe alone sells well. If you feel the need to combine like vehicles on the same platform, please do so in all categories.

Pioneer
I did say that even the Escape on its own sells well. Then you went on to cloud the issue with combining numbers for different vehicles. No biggie really. Just don't be surprised when your fuzzy math is used against you.

taxman100
Doesn't it cost Ford about 60 cents a unit to bolt on a few different parts on an Escape and call it "Mariner" or "Tribute". I realize the name badges have more letters, and must cost a little more. Doesn't seem like a big expense for the extra sales they bring.
