jonas1022
Typically Japanese form of flattery. If your competitor is doing something that you like. Copy it! The first that I noticed Toyota copying Ford was with the 1976 Toyota Celica GT fastback. The fastback was a dead ringer for the flip tailed 1969-70 Ford Mustang sportsroof. And the copying hasn't stopped. Nor is it likely to. It is just the way they do business.
Blueblood
Their new crossover also copies the Edge headlight design, Ford should sue Toyota..
rmc523
well at least the grill... http://jalopnik.com/photogallery/protocorolla/1000663744 Some have pointed that out before.
timmm55
I think that was only for the car show version, the production grill is less Ford like.
rmc523
Their new crossover also copies the Edge headlight design, Ford should sue Toyota.. The new Venza also sorta has a 3 bar grille as well. EDIT: Don't forget about the Volvo taillights too! ANTAUS
Also notice how the headlights veer stairsteps downwards to meet the bottom of the grill, just like the Edge and new F-150 does the same treatment...

johnnyb82
The current Camry not only looks a lot like the Mazda fascia, but also looks remarkably similar to the rejected proposed design for the 1996 Taurus found in the book "Car". kevinb120
Well, although Honda admits being worried about Hyundai, Toyota pretty much took 80# of the Sonata and added a sloth nose and called it Camry. Man, Toyota makes some incredibly ugly vehicles. Venza takes Edge/Murano/Santa fe and shakes it all up. I don't understand the attraction, the Venza just looks cheap on top of tacky. Who wrote that book ? I will assume it is this: http://www.amazon.com/Car-American-Workpla...325&sr=1-11 Car: A Drama of the American Workplace (Paperback) // Mary Walton ? Thanks for the heads-up!
