RichardJensen
Since a takeover of FoMoCo by Kerkorian is inevitable, this thread is dedicated to your personal 'best and worst' moments from Kerkorian's past successful takeovers of Chrysler, and GM. My favorite memory is when Kerkorian installed Jerry York as GM's CEO, ousting Wagoner. That was great. Now that Jerry York is running GM, they're doing much better. Oh, and how Bob Eaton introduced Kerkorian as the new chairman of the board back in '96--that was a priceless memory for an old softie like me. And who can forget the triumphal moment when Kerkorian avenged himself on his adversaries the Germans by winning a lawsuit alleging that they ruined =his= company! So many memories..... Critic
I heard from a friend that heard from his friends hairdresser who has a friend that works in Tracinda, that Kirk is gonna install Lee Iacocca as CEO of the new Kirk Motor Co. once he gets total dominion of the motor company. RichardJensen
Given the 'free market' reforms going on in China, and the development of a wealthy capitalist elite, I think it's more like "SIG" (spinning in grave) than ROFL.

There has been so much change in the last 40 years. Mao would not recognize China and Barry Goldwater would be a liberal today.
NickF1011
And then Pam Ewing woke up and Bobby was in the shower. I thought it was Bob Newhart waking up and it was Suzanne Pleshette next to him in bed?

Edstock
I guess I'm from Mars. Who's Pam Ewing? For that matter, who's Bobby?
SVT_MAN
I guess I'm from Mars. Who's Pam Ewing? For that matter, who's Bobby? I'm 21, so this was before my time, but they are both "stars" from the soap opera Dallas, which was massively popular from the late 1970s into the early 1990s. (Yes, it spanned over 10 years!) I only recognized the allusion because my parents are both huge fans. I've seen the show and honestly do not understand the appeal ... sorry to the other fans out there. Here is the massive Ranch that was featured on the show ... big tourist attraction then, and even now to a certain extent: Edited April 28, 2008 by SVT_MAN

Mark B. Morrow
I was afraid the reference might be lost on some of the younger board members. Once upon a time during the tail end of the cold war, Americans actually had the time and frivolity to be obsessed about who shot JR. BTW this was the basis for the who shot Mr. Burns episode of The Simpsons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas_%28TV_series%
J-150
Maybe its time for a Dallas remake, starring the Bush family.
