NickF1011
I think the "butt" looks a bit flat and oversized. That seems to be becoming endemic of the entire industry though as visual bumpers seem to be disappearing entirely. Hopefully there is a bit of something under the camo in that lower half of the rear that I'm missing that breaks up that flat expanse a bit. Personally, I like the move away from the bumper look on the front, but I like the look of the bumper on the back (in most cases, or at least with crossovers and larger vehicles). Well, with the more naturally pronounced shape of front ends compared to the rear, the blended bumper look doesn't impact the overall profile of the vehicle as much in that case. I do agree with you about the MKT, though. The rear is a little bland/plain. Perhaps making the lightbar thicker/taller (more like MKX) would've helped to reduce some of that bulk/emptiness? I'll have to wait and see it without camo to decide for sure, but I've been behind a few MKX's on the road just the past couple of days and I really do like what the LED bar does for the design. LoveTaurus
I like the MKT, and dream of driving one. But the last few days looking at these photos, worry me that the flush no bumper look, one small bump may cause $$$ to repair! Front grille and the liftgate damage! BORG
I don't know, she's doesn't look so good to me.
suv_guy_19
I think its the effect of the camouflage at the ends. It serves to stretch out the areas making it appear out of proportion.
Going_Going_Gone
From the side, the design (windshield rake, door sizes, rear window, wheel openings, etc.) appears quite similar to my wife's Mazda CX-9.
ANTAUS
I too got that impression, from that side quarter view to it. Although the CX-9 has a nice rear end, swept up details that make the ass look a bit tighter...This one is looking like it has a frumpy droopy ass. rcf8000
I've been thinking that the MKT is effectively a longer, lower CX-9. Not a bad thing. I test drove a CX-9 and, although it has a lot going for it, it is not a "luxury" vehicle. Presumably the MKT will be one.
soupy
A hidden value of the MKT is that it will be assembled at Oakville Assembly which also produces the Flex and Edge. Talk about flexable manufacturing and getting utilization out of one plant. A good bussiness sign for the "Way Forward".
