There were many protests against the Iraq War that had as many people. Did the Right think they were Patriots for exercising their First Amendment Rights? Your James Madison quote can more appropriately be applied to the trashing of our Constitutional protections under the First and Fourth Amendments under the Bush/Cheney Administration. The reasoning was "If you have nothing to hide than you shouldn't be concerned about warrantless searches". The right wing rallying cry against those who demanded fidelity to the Constitution was "We need to be protected from al Queda". I wonder how those people would feel now that Obama is President? Question Obama is one thing, and it's legitimate - hell, I don't like everything this administration has proposed, or has already done. Bush was right - dissent is the highest form of patriotism. But some of these people are are as off the deep end as you can get. They've had a bug up their ass since the election, and it's only been building. Things are as polarized as ever, and I'm tired of it. If Obama, Reid and Pelosi are contributing to it, using words like Nazi, then they're wrong too. However, I don't see Obama ending it along with eliminating the "Patriot Act" which has decimated portions of the Constitution. All he seems to be doing is shuffling the troops to Afghanistan. In Case you have missed it, I'm not a fan of Minister Farrakhan. I thought it was silly that he threatened to sue the Park Service over the crowd estimate. That said, even 400,000 is a truly impressive number for any organization. Maybe the fact that the 9/12 event couldn't even get 25% of that number is the reason they feel the need to exagerate.
