New 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium Blends Unsurpassed Fuel Efficiency with Premium Amenities

  • All-new Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium adds premium amenities and technology to the most fuel-efficient midsize family sedan in America

  • Standard features include leather interior, premium Sony® audio system and MyFord Touch®

  • Customers can select a Fusion Titanium model with either a hybrid powertrain or the 2.0-liter EcoBoost® all-wheel-drive powertrain for the same base price of $32,995

DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 2, 2012 – Ford’s new Fusion Hybrid, the most fuel-efficient sedan in America, raises the bar on luxury and technology with the debut of the 2013 Titanium edition.

The new model will be sold alongside the Fusion Hybrid SE, which is priced $1,575 less than the outgoing Fusion Hybrid, with even more content. The Titanium edition was developed in response to consumer demand for a higher level of luxury in a hybrid vehicle. Ford has been selling the Fusion Hybrid since 2009, and this is the first time it has been offered with this level of features.

Starting at just $32,995, Fusion Hybrid Titanium is available for the same price as the 2.0-liter EcoBoost® Fusion with all-wheel drive.

“Traditionally, car buyers have had to compromise when selecting between class-leading efficiency, premium amenities and value,” said Samantha Hoyt, Fusion Marketing manager. “The new Fusion Hybrid Titanium lets customers have it all.”

In a sea of bland midsize segment choices, the flowing silhouette of the new Ford Fusion stands dramatically apart from the crowd – exuding confidence, sophistication and a dynamic attitude.

Fusion Titanium models step it up a notch with standard front fog lamps, chrome accents on the door handles, rear deck spoiler and polished 18-inch alloy wheels.

Once inside the Fusion Hybrid Titanium, drivers would be hard-pressed to guess that this is a mainstream family sedan. Technology and design are integrated in a manner that looks fantastic and works wonderfully.

Both front seats get power adjustability, with the driver’s seat getting 10 directions from which to choose. All seats along with the steering wheel and shift lever are trimmed in leather.

“All of the interior materials and surface finishes provide the sense of arriving at a destination,” said Gary Braddock, Fusion interior designer. “Metallic finishes on the door, instrument panel and center console are bright without being reflective, allowing the interior to look expensive without being ostentatious.”

Controls fall readily to hand in the driver-oriented cockpit of the Fusion, and Titanium models get a 12-speaker Sony® audio system with HD Radio. The award-winning SYNC® connectivity system is augmented with the enhanced voice control capability of MyFord Touch® along with SYNC Services on every Fusion Titanium. A rear view camera and Reverse Sensing System help to keep the driver aware of what is behind the Fusion while backing up.

For night driving, an ambient lighting system provides a relaxing and pleasant cabin environment while an auto-dimming electrochromic rearview mirror ensures the driver is never blinded by other vehicles with bright headlights coming up from behind.

Fusion’s new hybrid powertrain is activated by a push-button start so the key can stay in a pocket or purse. An advanced lithium-ion battery pack is one-third lighter than before but provides more power, enabling electric driving at speeds up to 62 mph.

“With Fusion Hybrid Titanium, going green no longer means having an austere ride,” says Hoyt. “No guilt, no pain.”

Fusion Hybrid Titanium will be available in early 2013.

Good news for you guys who feel like waiting a little while, looks as though the push-button start and the sony system will be available soon!

I wish they would have announced it a little earlier though, I feel bad for those who have ordered an SE Hybrid, that wanted the features of the Titanium. I can see a lot of orders being cancelled.

I swear, if they do come out with an all-wheel-drive hybrid titanium, I will cancel mine haha - Doubtful, but you never know!

So now that they announced this Titanium version, I was thinking about my current Fusion Hybrid on order. What will I get extra for the extra $$$. Standard 18" wheels, Push to Start, ambient lighting and the 12 speaker Sony system. Is it enough of an upgrade for another $1500? I don't think so...

I think I will keep my SE version and love it just as much maybe even more!!!

I thought you were going with the 1.6?

I was until I learned that you can't get Intelligent Access on the SE and you can't get the 1.6 auto start/stop on the Titanium, so I decided to go with the Titanium.

Given the small price difference between the 2.0 FWD and the Hybrid it's a no brainer for me. I just hate having to wait.

Regarding cancelled orders - the dealers will be able to sell all of the SE hybrids they can get anyway so it won't be an issue.

I'd imagine the 19" wheels will be an extra option on top, like the current Titanium, which is a +$500 here in Canada. That and you'd have to wait even longer :(

That's the other thing. Coming Early 2013. Unfortunately that might be too long for me, as I'm in the market for a new car now. Anyways, I don't think there's too much of a difference compared to what I have currently since I ordered the Fusion fully loaded (minus the block heater)

This really bums me out. I definitely would have chosen this if I had known it would be coming but I ordered a loaded Hybrid SE instead. My existing car would probably last another six months but I'm not going to cancel and be out my $1000 nonrefundable deposit for my existing order.

Gotcha! I'm rather impatient myself, but for vehicles, I don't mind waiting to get exactly what I want. That 47 MPG hybrid is going to be sweet!

I noticied that Ford has also added accessories under the build and price option on their website.

Something pretty cool is the word 'Fusion' the lights up when you open the door. A couple of other random accessories are there too...like a DVD player.

I saw that on the US build site, but not the Canadian one yet. I'd be tempted to order the door sills with my order, but I may just do that after I get my car. I may add the mud/snow flaps too.

So looking at the list you posted. I highlighted everything that my fully loaded SE has. Obviously the 6 speed automatic transmission will be changed with the CVT.

I think a lot of these can probably be added at a later time. Like ambient lighting, spoiler, sport pedals and remote start.

It all depends whether the customer needs a car now or can wait until early 2013. I do wish they released this model before, I may have gone ahead and pulled the trigger on this model at first, but unfortunately I can not wait for this to come next year.

You're going to be happy with your order anyways, JSK, we have to wait long enough as it is, and I could only imagine it would take forever and a day again if you reordered, and have to wait until some time in "early" 2013. Which for the cars coming out now, "Early fall" seems a bit delayed. Things are going a little slow with my current order, and I have no idea why, I don't think I could go through this wait again. Into week 7 for me now, and still no news.

No such thing. Worst case you can just apply the $1000 to the new order but honestly, they can't keep your deposit no matter how much they may try to convince you they can.

I suppose I could probably get my deposit back from my dealer if I really threw a fit about it. I've been a little aggravated with them anyway.

Me: So do you cash this $1000 deposit check or just hold on to it?

Salesman: We just hold on to it until the car comes. Here, fill out this form.

Me: Is this for financing? Because I already have financing lined up.

Salesman: It's just so we have your information on file as the person placing the order.

Two days later I received a letter saying I was approved for financing and the check had been cashed.

Supervisor: I'm very sorry about that. Our salesman is new and doesn't know all of our procedures.

So, ya. Whatever. I will just stick with my SE Hybrid. The pushbutton start and ambient lighting were the things from the Titanium I wish I could have had.

Mine was a $500 fully refundable deposit I could take back if I changed my mind, I could also take it back as cash when I get the car, or use it towards the downpayment if I wanted. Was sort of a good faith to show seriousness about ordering a car. He told me it could be really any amount I wanted, he's like $500 seems fair, lets do that.

But, yeah, you're going to be incredibly happy with the car regardless, Delnatha These things will be amazing :D

It's just a little bit of an upgrade from my current car which is a Ford Escort ZX2 I bought new in 1999 for $11K. =) The dealer offered me $250 trade in for it which is a serious lowball but I don't blame them that much. It still runs great so I will use it as a backup vehicle.

Haha, a "little bit" of an upgrade :P

See, with me, I have the Canadian "employee discount" locked in on my order, so if I were to cancel, I'd lose that - Which is around -$3400 off my Titanium. The deal is now just expired, but I've locked it in until delivery of the car. However, I noticed today driving past, they're offering a "No charge Winter tire/wheel package on "most" new vehicles" on the sign, and there's nothing in the legals stating it's not combinable with any other offers.

I've fired off an email to see if I qualify for the winter tire package, that would save me about $1500 if I were to go with snows anyways. :P

Let me know if you get that deal. Who's your dealer?
