so, seems like I saw a post on this, but has anyone run the diagnostic report yet? Mine fails saying I have not registered yet, but I did. Even got the email and phone text confirmations.

 

But I think I saw a post somewhere that it would not work until you went a certain distance.

 

Does anyone know the answer to that?

So your cell phone number is saved in the below config screen, and that's the phone you're using to run the VHR, right?

Yes, exactly like yours, except my name and number.

 

It starts to run the report, then dials 888-796-2864 which is a number with a recording that I haven't registered yet.

 

Irritating.

That is the correct phone number.

Once connected it uses the phones caller ID to find your account.

The error message is because it can't find a match between the caller ID sent by the phone and an account.

 

The phone must be configured in the car as the master or primary (I forget the car's terminology) phone. Only the primary phone can be used to send a report.

I don't remember if they normalize the number in the sync my ride account but the format is: xxx-xxx-xxxx There are no parentheses or a leading 1.

Make sure your phone is not in private mode. It must transmit your caller ID.

I have just over 400 miles on my Hybrid as of this morning. I will be going out to one of my remote offices later, so going about 150 more. My panel says I have about 50 miles to empty. Not sure how accurate that is, but I will wait until I see the guage change color as it is supposed to according to the manual.

 

So I will see how my mileage is doing once I get my first tank filled :). Even though I have tried once, but got less then a gallon in. That was really just to get Fuelly updated.

The DTE on the first tank or two does not have much history to go on, so just fill it even if there's more still there than you thought, and it will get more accurate as you get a few tanks in the history.

Sounds good, btw, I see your getting 47 on yours (Fuelly). But with 31 fillups. Did it take a lot of time? The car says 32mpg. I will rely on Fuelly, but hopping it will improve as the dealer says it will.

IIRC, my lifetime was at 12 when I took my first drive at the dealer (before dealer prep was done), and that test drive helped a lot and brought it up to 27 when I took delivery. From there I've snapped a LOT of display pics for trip and lifetime summaries (and other random Fusion-related things)... if you want to scroll through the pics you can see each lifetime summary shot as it has inched up - I think the latest I've posted was 48.6 or 48.7 but it's actually at 48.9 now and might get to 49.0 if I have a good commute today. So if you want to peruse the lifetime pics and note the odometer readings, have at it.

As for the fuelly stuff, you should be able to click on the icon below and go to that page and scroll down to see the details for each fill-up.

I also see your in Virginia, so that probably helps.

 

I live in Sothern California, and primarily drive in either Orange County, or Inland Empire with a lot of traffic, going fast then slow, cutting in and out of traffic (other people) etc. It is cool to let the adaptive cruise slow the car when someone gets in front, but there has been a few times the collision warning goes off as the car can't slow down and I have to hit the brakes. It's all a fun new experience. :)

 

My goal was a 40mpg car, and I am sure I will end up getting that in the long run :)

Yes the DC beltway is far more gentile, nothing but sunshine & lollipops and thank-you waves all around. I've driven in southern CA before, each place has its share of courteous and not-so-courteous... actually I have driven in all 50 states, and probably the Miami area gets my vote for "least courteous" - though the competition for that honor is tight, there are so many runners-up.

That sounds awesome. Well my trip back was better, I filled the tank with about 10 gallons and Fuelly gives me a 32 mpg even, which is what the car was saying. On the trip back, the car was up to 32.9, and my trip mpg was 42.5. Although, some of that was due to traffic slowed from 75 down to 50 to 60 mph, and I ended up in EV mode for maybe 5 miles or so. That really kicked up my mpg. But I guess it all evens out.

 

Overall, much better than my Grand Prix at a steady 20 to 22 Mpg. :)

What's it like to put gas in it? 302 miles on the car and she barely has 1/8 tank gone... Oh, never mind... I'm sure I can look it up in the manual when the time comes. /snicker.

 

Home -> work 19 miles, I seem to exhaust the battery about half mile shy of the charger there.

Work -> home same 19 miles, get home with about 4-6 miles left and she does go into EV+ mode.

Well, just wanted to report that we received a Brand New Fusion HyTi yesterday under the Maryland Lemon Law. Except for a small nick on the Main Display Screen which is being replaced on Thursday, all appears well. What a wild ride this has been. Check my signature for details. :headspin:

So, question on the weird set of keys that came with the car, what are they for? My dealer thinks they lock the glove box. One had sort of a handle. but two are just the metal part.

 

I just put them away, but wondering how they are used.

Two key blanks are provided by Ford for the future. You should also have a Valet key with a black handle.

The manual talks about a hiden key in the remote, and that it is used in a hidden location in the drivers door handle.

 

I could not get my remote open to see the hidden key, and can't find any secret cap on the door handle. :)

 

Guess I better not loose my remote!!!

Ok, figured it out I think. The outside drivers door has a hidden compartment. You remove the key blade from your remote (still trying to figure that out) and push that blade into the bottom of the drivers door handle, releasing the cover. You can then use the blade to open the door. The remote can then be placed in the console to start and operate the car.

 

My guess is that is what the two plane blades are for, I suppose the one with the black handle lockes the glove box.
