2025 Ford Maverick ST potentially spotted
atomcat68 replied to Sherminator98's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Damn... I wish they sold that Mondeo here. -
As a Mustang owner, I would have no problem with a 4 door sedan Mustang, and I would probably prefer that now. If they do call it something else, the only names that would have any value are Falcon, Fairlane, Galaxie or Taurus. I'd use Fairlane if they choose not to use mustang for it, as that's what they were planning in the early 2000's for a RWD sedan before the plug was pulled and the Ford 500 was developed instead. Taurus I'd save for a possible Mach E replacement if they choose not to use the Mustang name on that again. I also have no problem with them calling it the Mustang Mach E either, bit it is a shame to throw away the Taurus name as well.

When I made an independent film, Ford was actually very generous an provided a CAD model of a 1969 Mustang. The real car was a 2012, but with CGI, we made it into the 1969. The car was also portrayed heroically and respectfully in the film. The obvious things I had to promise was not to portray the car in a negative light (break down, catch on fire or be totaled or have the passengers be killed in it ect. ) FCA (wasn't Stellantis yet) and VW, not so much. Their cars didn't have logos, but they got trashed in the film. 😎

That's because the Saudi government keeps pumping money in it. If it depended on its car sales, it would fail very quickly.

New Ecosport for international markets?

That's pretty much sums up the Buick Envista and the Chevy Trax (a wagon). -
So, the chief financial officer will be hired from a company that is in a constant state of bankruptcy?

It looks like the old one with crappy plastic add on body panels. This is such a disappointment as I liked the new Prius and Land Cruiser, but his is just too nauseating to look at.

I'm not. Toyota is the only one I can think of that makes a large IC engine sedan so it's the only place for the customer to go. The sedan buyers that Ford, GM, and others abandoned had to go somewhere. It's like minivans. If everyone made them, then they would be spread thin, but the 4 brands that still make minivans do decently with them. Sedans are kind of the same. There is demand, but not enough for everyone, but when the herd is culled a bit, the ones left over do well.

I think history will repeat itself when Fisker goes bankrupt and some one else will buy up the ashes of the company. This is what happened to the Karma. Maybe it will be Nissan, but if not, a Chinese automaker will buy it. I'd like to see Fisker rebadged as Datsun...

There is also the rumor that Apple was thinking about buying Rivian recently. And in the past, they considered buying Tesla, until Elon Musk insisted that he should be on the Apple B.O.D. if the sale went through.

It reminds me of the Plymouth Horizon/Dodge Omni/Peugoet 402 and a little of the VW Rabbit and AMC Gremlin. But unlike all those other cars, I really like this!

Ford Sales February 2024 - Up 10.5% Overall

As much as I hate to say it, I always thought Bronco was going to be a fad car like the two seat T-bird, PT Cruiser, the new Camaro and Toyota FJ Cruiser. Once the first wave of fans buy it, it doesn't sustain momentum. -
That being said, I do like all the Rivian products.

I actually liked that thing on my EXP! It had the light test button to make sure the warning lights worked. They were probably worried that the light test button wouldn't work and need to have a test for that as well. The most bizarre thing was the fuel filler door release was in the glove box, so you had to lean across the car to open it. A button behind a door to release another door.

I really liked the Airflow and I hate the Halcyon. The Airflow looked like it could easily be sold in Europe as a Peugeot or Opel model. The airflow's Chrysler almost logo looks like a batman logo in that picture too, even though the Halcyon looks like a Batmobile after a serious accident.

Needing to transport passengers and not having the ability to do it is even more of a pain. I'm sure someone is up to the task of making easy to remove seats and use them as chairs in the house. It's not like you'd be adding and subtracting chairs on a daily basis anyway. Mazda could have even done an option delete to remove the chairs which would allow you to buy the rear seats later as well if needed as an after market option. I just think it is just dumb to market the same car as a different model because of not having seats.
-
I would make a third row seat, that could be removed from the car, and could have clip on legs put on them so they could be used as extra house chairs until you need them in the car again.

The rear bumper screams off to me as it has a string attached to it to hold it on...
