  1. It's about saying bye to people you might not see again. If you any friends you would understand
  2. Well if they didn't spend all their time in the jerzey break room......
  3. Well I think one thing needs to be pointed out. A hillbilly is a Michigan potato farmer. So we is hillbilly's and yall is rednecks... :beerchug: So we's all trailer park trash
  4. Sorry your team leader sucks but their not all bad. I've worked with my team leader since our days at Wixom. He's still the same person and treats all of our team members fairly. He does not snitch on anyone either.
  5. The "core" team is working this week. All of the temp product specialists are off this week. Kind of B.S. I won't be doing the launch anymore but they would not release me to go back to my team. I really wanted to work B-crew this week to say goodbye to my friends that I've been working with the last 1-4 years. Guess I'll just hang out Friday after I pick up my check.
  6. If most of the 30+ people did retire, I'd make the cut. But I don't see that happening.
  7. He didn't want to end up wearing cement shoes at the bottom of the Detroit river?
  8. You kidding right? AND WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? You'll be lucky to get 40hrs. say goodbye to overtime at the truck plants.
  9. If your order is in it will be produced. The days of building just to build are gone. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for it. If it still comes from DTP, look at about late October for arrival.
  10. Well for the entire P221 we (DTP) got our frames from Dana. In comes comes Magna and says they can build them cheaper than Dana, even though they get the unassembled frames from Dana and then assemble them. So, when everything is all said and done the Magna frames end up costing $300 more per frame than Dana and the 4X2 frames are splitting during durability testing.
  11. My bad...screwed up the math ...lot on my mind right now. It's about 6600 +/- a week.
  12. 540+ are made a day on each shift approx. 3300 +/- trucks a week between all three shifts.
  13. Because DTP makes the high end (poser) trucks. Your truck buyer that buys a truck to drive because it's cool is not buying. Your worker (real) trucks are and always will sell. It may also have something to do with the shitty frames we got from magna. Anyone know if KCAP uses any magna frames? Plain and simple, KCAP will launch with one crew (probable a high mix of work trucks). DTP may or may not be retooled to make those same trucks (no one knows for sure). Having worked on the launch at DTP, it has nothing to do with build quality...all of our problems (and KCAP as well) have been design and engineering issues.
  14. I think he has a "chubby" after reading that.
  15. So then they will have more chairs than rides???
  16. If you come to DTP you might get more.......
  17. Plant managers and local union leaders from around the country have been summoned to Ford's Dearborn headquarters Friday. They'll discuss the challenges facing the automaker and the broader U.S. automobile industry as the price of gasoline continues to set record highs and consumers flee pickups and big SUVs for smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...UTO01/806110388 A meeting has been scheduled on June 13 in Detroit. All the Local Union Presidents and Chairpersons along with the Plant Managers of the vehicle assembly plants in North America Vehicle Operations are required to attend. Although the meeting notification did not specify this, we are anticipating we will be informed of at least some of the decisions being made regarding 2009 production plans at this meeting. http://www.local249.org/breaking_news.htm
  18. Won't help DTP or KCAP at all. They don't even build the current generation 150 there and we build them for Mexico now (LOBO).
  19. The FX4 and up are standard 5.4L. I'm guessing the 2V will be standard in the XL and/or STX, with the 3V standard on the XLT.
  20. June 2nd-18th is the schedule for the MP1 build. This will start the ramp up for the launch in July. I just wish the engineers would stop changing shit around so close to job 1.
  21. Just the usual doom and gloom rumors that some people spout off every other day. Nothing from anyone reputable......But it's still anyones guess how long it will last.
