  1. Looking forward to seeing the photos. The 92-96 body style was one of my favorites.
  2. This is a sales strategy that Hyundai employed to help move their cars. I think it is debatable whether that has led to Hyundai's success, or if it has more to do with building cars/CUVs that the public was interested in buying. With that said, the truck market is a different beast. Truck buyers are a very loyal group. As a person that buys a new truck every three years or so, this tactic would never impact my decision, and not because I generally do not exceed the factory warranty of my trucks. I don't even consider purchasing anything but Ford trucks because they have always treated me good, and I believe they have the most compelling products.
  3. I would surely think this dealership would have cameras installed. If not, that's a shame. Even if they don't capture the smoking gun, they can capture enough to analyze against other video footage from the surrounding area, which is a very effective tool. On another note, does the status of these vehicles change since the oem wheels were removed? Not suggesting salvage by any means, but new/other or something?
  4. Are you really surprised that a journalist used something that fit a narrative. Journalism is dead. It is no longer "just the facts ma'am." Journalists' opinion and bias are injected into all forms of journalism now.
  5. No, they shouldn't have waited, but they should have bought an outside vendors transmission as a stop gap measure to make the car more consistent with the class it participates in. Don't misunderstand, I like the car. I think it's sharp.
  6. I don't mind they put the car out on an old platform, but they should have used a different transmission.
  7. They really should have paid an outside supplier for a transmission with more gears, even if it was only for a year or 2. Perception is reality for most people. It could have helped make this car more distinctive, and perhaps achieved a better mpg.
  8. Congratulations and welcome to the family. I have bought many new and used Fords, and they have all treated me well. Enjoy your new ride!
  9. As a consumer I have no interest in buying a vehicle like this. I enjoy driving, so a completely autonomous vehicle sounds very unappealing, and certainly reduces the desire to own a vehicle.
  10. For me, Lincoln needs to do a better job of creating a completely unique identity for itself. They have done a better of creating unique bodies, but most Lincoln motors have the same specifications as their Ford counterparts. It should not be difficult for Ford to give a Lincoln motor a small bump in horsepower, 15HP for example. Although the performance gain is not that significant, it looks good on paper, which would be a selling point. No Lincoln should share any interior parts with a Ford, that cannot be disguised as as a unique Lincoln part. Particularly anything that you touch or is regularly in your line of sight. As I have mentioned before, no Lincoln dealership should share the same space with a Ford dealership. Lincolns should be kept completely separate. Where I live, all the luxury brands have there own standalone buildings and lots, except the Lincoln dealership. I suspect the dealers feel they can't justify it, but in my mind it reduces Lincoln's credibility as a luxury make.
  11. Just because people choose to buy a performance vehicle doesn't mean they take it to the track or trail everyday. They are functional vehicles otherwise, so I believe people take that into consideration when they buy them and performance is not solely the only reason.
  12. I did not buy a Raptor until the crew cab version came out, because a supercab was not sufficient for my family. I suspect a street oriented high performance 2wd or awd crew cab truck would do well against the other cab configurations.
  13. I was in a raptor forum and an individual mentioned waiting on a new f150 lightning truck inatead of buying the 2017 Raptor but he did not provide any details. Anyone else heard anything about that?
  14. I totally agree with you. I love the F150 styling, but it doesn't belong on the Expedition.
  15. I like the console shifter, my hand rests perfectly there.

    My Bronco

That is a great looking Bronco. I like the soft-top. I hadn't seen one of those on that body style before.
  17. Unfortunately this is something I think Ford needs to improve on. My ford vehicles have been pretty much bulletproof, however several of them have had rattles, which drive me insane. My Raptor developed one in the pillar by the drivers shoulder early on, which the dealer never seems to be able to duplicate when I have taken it in for it, but magically appears when I pick it up. I'm going to have to figure it out myself it looks like. Rattles can give the impression that the vehicles aren't built well, even though they are, which is why I think it is an important aspect to improve on.
  18. Based on that letter, does FCA have a legal obligation to continue the car and are planning to deal with the legal challenge?
  19. I bought a new 97 extended cab f150 off road back then, and I thought it looked great. It was a great truck, and I sold it to my brother-in-law. It had a 130k on it when he got rid of it, and still no issues. Ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
  20. Not a big fan of that color, but I'm impressed with the minor details in the car. Very cool.
