From a long term perspective it may be fine, but during the initial release it will hamper sales.

Ill be interested to see if there is an impact on sales from moving from front wheel drive to rear drive wheel drive on the Explorer. The vast majority of non-enthusiasts do not view front wheel drive unfavorably, particularly those living in cold weather states. Im curious to see if they lose sales in those cold weather states, due to people declining to spend the extra money on the four-wheel-drive system or they cant afford it.

Moving to this platform opens the door to a real Jeep GC SRT8 or Track Hawk competitor.

I hope so too. I think it would be a badass differentiating feature with a historical connotation.

I think stand-alone dealerships are key to distinguishing Lincoln from Ford. It annoys me when I drive by the Ford dealership in Naperville, and all the Fords and Lincolns are mixed together. I believe the dealership owns another building down the road and perhaps when Lincoln has enough vehicles to stand on its own, they may build out that facility as Lincoln dealership. I dont think Lincoln needs to have a service facility on the property if they have a Ford service nearby to transfer the Lincolns to.

I dont mind using the same motors, but I feel they should have different tunes with Lincoln always receiving the higher horsepower ratings, even if only a marginal amount.

I dont think the Edge should look the same. I think thats a different customer than the Explorer.

Funny how people see things differently. I see more Explorer han F150, which was intentional by Ford.

Heres an idea, dont buy it when it comes out. Just because the presumed specs dont appear to be what you want doesnt mean people arent interested. I am not interested in a 95 remake and want something similarly sized to the Wrangler. No offense to the 95, but I have a full-size truck. If you want a 95, go find a nice speciman from the south or California and restore it because thats as close to new as you will get.

Agreed, and it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to it over time. I personally think Lexus recent vehicles are some of the worst looking on the road.

I had read an article recently, which I could not locate again, that indicated the Japanese are forgoing western styling in favor of decidedly Japanese styling. This would explain why a lot of their styling isnt jiving well with many Americans. I expect you will see the Ranger Raptor in the US in the near future. They have pushed the F150 Raptor price high enough that there is room below it to fit the Ranger.

Good to see them make a play for the top spot. Its about time they take at least this form of racing serious.

I concur with many here that it has aged well. The Bronco strikes me as vehicle that would not significantly change over the course of time. I anticipate its changes to be evolutionary, similar to the Wrangler.

As a recipient of the products that you and your counterparts build, I appreciate that. We have to do what we have to do sometimes to get things done and make things work. I understand the need to vent sometimes. At my work we have a little saying that we are successful in spite of ourselves, regardless of the self imposed impediments that we put in place.
