  1. Seems to do OK here in Massachusetts, I see more Flexs than Expeditions, Sequoias and other larger SUVs. I always liked the looks of the Flex and if I needed a vehicle with that capability, I would get it in a minute. As it is, my wife complains that she feels ridiculous driving to work by herself in the Edge. Next vehicle will be a Escape withe the tow package.
  2. I know the Edge V6 with the tow package can haul the boat, I already have that, what you can't get is the Ecoboost Edge with the tow package. I had 2001 escape that hauled the boat fine, and the new escape with eb 2.0 Liter has the same tow rating with the towing package. For me the Escape may make more sense.
  3. That may be true, but was is the towing capacity of the ecoboost edge, does it even come with a tow package. The only reason I have a need for a vehicle like this is to tow my 19" Eastern to Maine and back once a year (spring/fall).
  4. It looks to me as if the transition from 2012 to 2013 for the Fusion cost at least 10,000 unit., It will take some time to build up inventory but I believe the new Fusion will only help in the future. I am wondering if the the new Escape to taking some sales from the Edge. In all likelyhood the a ew Escape will replace our Edge it a year or two. Better MPG and still can haul 3500 lbs.
  5. Considering how poor sales of the Mazda 2 in the N America market have been, the volume must be needed for C and S America
  6. Amount 50000 Australian Dollar to US Dollar = 51,501.50 USD
  7. Actually it Android that may be peaking http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/11/google-android/ "But it's starting to look like Android's growth may be stalling, just as Google (GOOG) is facing new challenges in mobile from longtime rivals Apple (AAPL) and Facebook (FB). Recent reports suggest the prospect of Android's growth peaking. First, Asymco's Horace Dediu noted that Android's net user gains had slowed for four straight months and that user growth in April was as slow as its been since 2009."
  8. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/07/13/phantom_eye_rollout/ "To be specific, the Phantom Eye uses 2.3 litre four-cylinder engines of a type normally found in some models of petrol-burning Ford Fusion, turbocharged and tweaked so as to run on hydrogen at 65,000 feet." No, it is the Fusion engine
  9. I don't know about the rest of you but this topic should be moved as this is not a Ford specific, This is just some angry man spreading and his rambling non-sense.
  10. There are two times I am glad i have an automatic, when pulling my boat (twice a year ( once up, once back) or sitting in traffic, otherwise i would prefer manaual. that being said for those sitting trafffic, an automatic is a blessing.
  11. Ford Transit in the US will come with a diesel, which one will it be, I doubt it will be the new powerstroke http://www.autoblog.com/2012/03/28/diesel-returning-to-full-size-ford-vans/
  12. Take that Camaro http://money.cnn.com/video/pf/2012/03/26/pf-w-shelby-mustang-1000.fortune/?iid=HP_LN
  13. Is it just me or are they calling it a Freestyle, that what it looks loke on the rear hatch
  14. I must take exception to your statement about East Cost brewing, having been a craft beer drinker for over 30 years I would say the rule is the fresher the better , unless it is one of the high alcohol specialty beers. There are many breweries on the right coat making brews as good as those mentioned on your list, including Dog Fish Head, Victory, Shipyard, Allagash, Smutty Nose, and Slumbrew to name a few. I have enjoyed beers from most of the breweries your mentioned but prefer to drink beers brewed closer to where I am drinking them. You should be a little less provincial in your statements until you have explored the subject completely.
  15. Maybe, but it could accelerate people need for fuel efficient vehicles such as the new Focus and Fiesta, even V6 F150s. Time will tell
  16. Considering the sanctimonious dumb-asses they have to choose from , why would they. ( I am talking about the Republicans, not the cars)
  17. I have both an Audi and Ford and to be honest the Audi experience does stand out from the Ford experience from a buying perspective. The Audi dealership was more attractive but the personal experience was about the same. Anytime wasted at a dealership is time not doing something I have to or would like to do. I know with some people want to be pampered, but for me, I just want to get to the point and move on. LIke music, if you cant' it say it with three chords, your wasting my time. quote name='FordBuyer' timestamp='1324737597' post='752806'] Hopefully Ford has sent some of its people to a Lexus, MB, BMW, and Porsche/Audi dealer to buy one of their cars and then researched the experience and dealership experience after purchase to see how different it is from more conventional dealerhip like Ford/Chevy. What is the same and what is different from architecture, signage, ambience, customer luxuries, dealer service area, and so on. It certainly sounds like they have done their homework, and I hope they can pull off the luxury experince from dealership to vehicle itself. That being said, I expect the new MKZ to be a WOW vehicle compared to anything Lincoln has built in many years. Really get your attention outside and inside with exceptional options list and standard features along with outstanding engine options. To go against the likes of Audi/BMW, Lincoln must have a vehicle like this. The new MKZ needs to blow our socks off. Lincoln needs a game changer.
  18. I was in Korea a couple of months ago and was surprised at the size of the vehicles. A majority of the cars were Fusion sized vehicles and most of those were Korean makes ( Hyundai, Kia, Samsung). There were fair amount of Genesis Sedans running around, many more then I have seen here so. In all likelihood the US Market is just gravy for the line. I did find it amusing that I actually saw more Lincolns on the road in Seoul then Toyotas
  19. One of my coworkers just bought a 4 door short bed Taco. He is spending in the 28 to 30,000 range for it , below invoice at that. I see this as the reason the Ranger was discontinued. Too much price over lap with the full size. He stated that if he wanted a full size he would have got the F150, but it was just too big for his needs. (Occasional towing of his boat and trips to LOWES or HD). Because he has drop of duty for thier new kid, he needed the full cab for baby seat. So in order to get all the capabilities into a small truck, you need to pay almost full size prices for a smaller vehicle. That is the rub for Ford. If they can come up with a lost cost T/C Pick-up, they might be able to get the separation from the F150 they need to make the business case work. quote name='Extreme4x4' timestamp='1324020040' post='751213'] Oh, there is a market for it..................... if they don't want to sell as many F150's. See, if you look at who is successful at selling small/midsize trucks, it is those who are not successful at selling fullsize trucks. NOBODY is successful at both. Toyota is known for their Tacoma truck. Then they introduce their Tundra, thinking they are just going to mop up in the half ton market, because they are .................. after all................. Toyota. Yet, the Tundra doesn't sell for crap. They still sell a bunch of Tacomas, though. Same for the Titan and the Frontier. It is just the way it is. The difference is, the market that the Tacoma serves is shrinking. People don't want the el cheapo mini truck anymore. So, the "midsize" trucks are now almost the same price as the half tons..................... yet, they can't do as much. So, the buying public buys the half ton instead. Yes, there are a few who would be willing to pay close to half ton prices for a smaller truck, since that is what they want. However, the vast majority bought the smaller trucks because they were cheap.
  20. Under camo I was not a big fan but this actually looks better tha i thought it would, best in the higher trims. The big thing for me is that it kept the the 3500 lb towing rating while improving on fuel economy. Depending on what they do with the Edge (Fuel economy and looks) my replacement for our 2007 Edge could be one of these. Chris
  21. The fancy wheels on the dark one do a lot to improve its looks, it seems to make it look more like the concept Also, it might be me, but it does look like there will be a good amount of space behind the second row of seats. Also it is easy say it looks minivannish from the rear with sticker lights all across the back. We will see when the camo comes off but the rear window will be bigger than it looks. I doubt though that it will open as it does on the current model.
  22. As an owner of both a 2001 Escape and and 2007 Edge i found that the new Escape is just really boring. Most of the recent Ford designs have been quite recognizable at a quick glance, the new Escape could be any small Asian brand. I know we weren't going to get a new trucklet but I was expecting something with more forward thinking design.
  23. You realize that most A4's are front wheel drive and are not really mid size cars, the A6 is the midsize Audi.
  24. I believe this will be a more direct competitor to the Fit, which is a tall wagon then the current Fiesta hatchback. Versatility in this bugger will greater than in the Fiesta Hatch, maybe some overlap with Focus hatch but not as much as you might think.
  25. quote name='Deanh' timestamp='1314815124' post='724459'] subjective of course...to me the melted look is getting a tad long in the tooth....Cruze I do not care for in the slightest...interestingly enough I saw one this morning in red, only the second one i have seen. For me the Hyundai swoop is already looking dated, I read somewhere that they are already redesigning the sonata to be more toyota-esque, less swoopy.
