  1. I covered that when I said "The only ones left in the market are the ones who truly need the towing or seating capacity or people who just like big vehicles and don't care about fuel costs and I don't see that changing." The point was that a lot of recreational F150 buyers DID leave the fold for other vehicles, just like a lot of recreational SUV buyers left the fold. A lot of people stopped buying full-sized trucks AND SUVs for the same reason. The full-sized truck market is still huge because there aren't many good alternatives for folks who really need a truck. But I can get minivans and crossovers with 3 row seating and modest towing to replace a lot of former Expedition buyers.
  2. I have to believe there are bad or at least flaky APIMs out there causing problems for certain owners. It just doesn't make sense that the same software has such a wide range of bugs/no bugs in the same vehicle with different owners.
  3. Are you implying that nothing has changed since the original version of MFT back in late 2010?
  4. How do you "prove" voter fraud after the fact? How can you prove that the person who voted is the person whose name they used? It's impossible. Do we have to wait for a murder to occur before we make it illegal? So there are 80K people with no id. What is preventing them from obtaining one before the election? Answer: nothing.
  5. Any elected representative who did not do that wouldn't be much of a representative. If my local government wanted to build a park that we could not afford I'd vote against it. But if they built it anyway then I'd gladly use it. If someone is going to get the money, why not me (or my constituents)? Are you saying he should not have requested any money on principle?
  6. Rumor has it a new software release was just put out but I have not confirmed it.
  7. They're now called 12V power points - the big round plug in the dash/console.
  8. Anyone kept from voting because they didn't have proper id only have themselves to blame. You can't force people to get ids - all you can do is make them available and let it be clearly known that it is required - the rest is up to the individual. If this causes voter apathy and that happens to affect one party more than the other then maybe that party should go help these people get ids.
  9. Nope. They only count a sale when the customer actually buys it.
  10. Typically it's whoever put their hands on the other person first. If they ran into each other and that's what started the fight then it's probably neither. The point is that following someone suspicious while calling 911 does not qualify you as the instigator of the ensuing fight.
  11. The current Lincoln team had nothing to do with the MKT or the Navigator. What I've seen of the MKZ so far is enough to tell me they will get it right or they won't do it at all.
  12. This is definitely not good. It almost sounds like you have the old software but I assume you already checked that since you had the Focus. My guess would be a bad APIM if it's already got the latest software.
  13. The market shrank because of better alternatives in midsized crossovers, the availability of nice 4 door F150s and rising fuel prices. People who bought them but didn't really need the extra towing capacity or extra adult seating downsized to smaller more fuel efficient vehicles. The only ones left in the market are the ones who truly need the towing or seating capacity or people who just like big vehicles and don't care about fuel costs and I don't see that changing. There is definitely still a market - it's just a lot smaller than it used to be and it would be difficult to justify a one-off platform going forward which is what happened with the Expedition when it went to IRS.
  14. The only time this would not apply is if YOU were the aggressor, instigating the fight. You can't go up to someone and start a fight, then resort to deadly force and claim self defense. There is no evidence that Zimmerman initiated any violence or physical confrontation. Martin could have easily outrun him i he wanted to get away from him. I think Martin came back and confronted him for following him and that turned into a fight. Who started the fight will never be proven as there are no witnesses (at least not that I've heard so far). Please note that I'm not condoning anything Zimmerman did - just trying to clarify the facts of the case as it would apply to a defense strategy and ultimately to a jury finding.
  15. Yes it would and that's why it's the only viable scenario for keeping the Expy and or Navi. But with a shrinking market the business case is probably slim so they have to decide if it's worth keeping at all.
  16. According to Biker16 the European market is perfect and every vehicle they make is a home run and Ford is stupid for not selling all of them here.
  17. If it's unacceptable to you don't buy it but it's perfectly acceptable to most buyers. And you're not going to be able to get much more power out of that platform - they had to totally redesign the front clip just to keep it from exploding with the current 365 hp. You'll have to wait for a new RWD platform to get much more power and it's unclear whether that's in the cards or not.
  18. Everybody understands that minivans have more utility than crossovers or suvs and station wagons ride and handle better. People buy crossovers and suvs because they prefer the styling and/or the taller seating position. Some people simply do not like the look of minivans and station wagons. It's that simple. And who are you to tell people what vehicle they should be driving? You don't know their motives and even if you did it's none of your business. Why aren't you driving a Prius instead of a Corolla? It gets way better gas mileage and it's a hatchback. You're obviously driving the wrong vehicle.
  19. It's not MY spin - it's the media spin created by the IIHS press release wording. I don't have any problem whatsoever with the test. If all the IIHS wanted to do was help the mfrs make safer vehicles then they could have just released the test results to the mfrs. Or they could have just released the test results without labeling them as poor or marginal or unacceptable. Or they could have given the ones that passed 6 or 7 stars and left the old ones at 4 and 5 stars. I don't understand why this isn't obvious to everyone.
  20. What have the democrats offered the last 4 years that's any better?
  21. That's the wi-fi hotspot feature where the car becomes a wi-fi hotspot for other devices using a 3g or 4g data connection. The OP was asking about the feature to connect the vehicle to another wi-fi hotspot which would only really be used by the mft web browser which isn't available yet.
