  1. Mustang II owners are tired of having the II slammed for not being desirable by 2012 standards. The '74 sold 365,000. When was the last time Mustang did that? It WAS the right car at the right time. If there were no II there would be no 2013 Mustang.
  2. I'm glad my mother-in-law drives a Toyota.
  3. My '74 Mustang II was doing the same thing. Came out of nowhere. Took it to the local Ford dealer, they looked at it, couldn't find anything wrong bit uou could hear it in their parking lot. A few days later I lubed the door hinges, had been a while. Noise was gone. Hasn't returned. Just the door riding up and down on the hinges as I drove over rough pavement.
  4. Since when is 25mph a "runaway" car? She may not have had brakes. That's like calling O.J.'s Bronco flight a "high-speed" chase. WTF is up with Californians????
  5. I rode in a Prius for the first time last year. Interior looked like a sub-economy car. Had a rattle, not sure where that was coming from.......and the owner loved it. Go figure.
  6. So I guess Bob King wants to finish Ford off like the UAW did to Chrysler and GM. Raise wages, benefits and expect the consumer to buy American assembled, American engineered vehicles that reflect the cost cutting of the past. Our greed and laziness put America in this position. We want simple answers, can you hear me Sarah? Easy jobs. Great benefits. Hell, we're entitled. Pick up a People, watch Entertainment Tonight, tell me what happened on Dancing with the Stars last night........but you can't find Iran on a map. Don't strain your brain. Do the least you have to. If Mulally hadn't taken the job Ford would have gone belly up just like the other two. Global economy. Get used to it. You still have jobs. And please, stop your cryin'. There are millions of Americans who can't afford groceries, gas, housing. And they never had a union they could begin to go crying to. You want a level playing field? Unionize Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes and the rest of them. Won't happen. OK, you can go back to crying about how Ford is screwing you, and make sure you see this week's Dancing!!!!!
  7. Hey, CAP, are you the one who needs a paint by number?
  8. uh........it's called sarcasm. The retarded can't change their situation but you don't have to be such an asshole.
  9. The car's on the showroom floor, wanted to see how good the Tuxedo Black was since it has glass in it. The paint's in a class all its own BUT there were metal shavings on the trunk lid (it was rough when I ran my hand over it) and there was a small gouge in the passenger's side C pillar. I expected more from Ford. I only buy Ford products. I don't even consider the competition. My Ranger has a better paint job. Give Twin Cities the Taurus, Taurus X, Sable, and MKS. Move the Ranger to Chicago. Twin Cities employees have proven themselves.
  10. Looked at a Tuxedo Black MKS at Boulevard Lincoln-Mercury in Georgetown, Delaware. Paint defects were too numerous to count. Looked like paint was applied over metal shavings. This wasn't even up to Ford Divison standards. Hope this one was just a fluke.
  11. Work with a woman who swears by Hondas. She didn't see any problem with the secret warranty they hid from her. Honda paid for the repairs only when they were caught. And she still swears by Honda. Her car is rusting out. Guess she thinks that's normal. After praising the Japanese she wonders why her son can't find a good paying job. Dumb, dumb, dumb. People like this vote???????????????
  12. Are you taking it back to the same dealer? I'd use another Ford dealer's service department. Ask around. Went through this with my '74 Mustang II. I changed dealers. Still driving that car but..........to hell with the first shop.
  13. I have an '02 XL. No problems. I'm glad Ford's considering leaving Twin Cities open. Had my body shop do a Victoria paint treatment, installed red line tires and aluminun 5-slot Ford wheels, dual exhaust (it's a 2.3) painted bumpers and grille to match the body then added Harley-Davidson stainless steel emblems. Awesome looking AND still get my 28 mpg average.
  14. I'd ask at a body shop. As for parts that are no longer available call Green Sales. Have the part numbers that you'll need (contact your L-M dealer for them). I'm getting trim items for my '74 from them. Service is great! Good luck.
  15. I have an '02 XL, best vehicle I've EVER owned. If this is the end of the line for the Ranger I'm hoping to buy an '09.
  16. The 2.5's been gone a while now. I have an '02 , 2.3. Truck's 100% reliable. No issues. Guess it's just the 2.3 and 4.0.
  17. He did win the popular vote for his second term but the war started during his first term.
  18. I agree with Mrs. Fields, why is his hair the talk of Detroit? Slow news day? Bit of fluff? She didn't slam Detroit or it's residents. You do have more pressing issues. I've been to Detroit, locked my doors as I drove through. No worse than most big cities. No better. America's bogged down in Iraq by a president who didn't receive the popular vote and we're treated to the ongoing saga of Anna Nicole. Anna's short life and Mark's hair are NOT national or even city issues. They're personal. You think the Japs are busy with this kind of crap news? No. They want to kick your ass. Now stop acting like a bunch of sophmoric school girls and realize you can't control his hair. BUT, you can contol the quality of your work.
  19. .........and those sequential turn signals. At night you could identify a T-Bird from the back a quarter mile away.
  20. Gawd, I hope they don't dilute the nameplate. Remember the Cougar wagons, sedans? I KNOW...........a Mustang minivan!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Mazda built/Mercury designed/MX-5 based Capri.
  22. Gussied-up? That "gussied-up" Ford beat the Germans in quality.
  23. I have an '02 Ranger. It's sturdy, great mileage (best in its class). No problems. Rangers rank as the highest quality trucks, no matter what size. I know someone who rolled his. It's still on the road! Rangers may not be the flashiest, newest, but they're dependable.
  24. Drive a Ranger from TCAP. Best vehicle I've ever owned. No problems. Thanks, guys!
