I'm going with the Continentals. Hope they work out well

With no response, I've done some research on Tire Rack.com Looks like the best base don ride, noise, and tread wear is Continental True Contact, and General Altimax RT43. General is less expensive, but not Made in USA, while Continental is. Anyone had either? Experiences with them?

I'm in NC (so snow not a huge issue). Any advice on new tires. Smooth, quiet, long lasting. Brands/ stores recommendations. Please help.

I've had my Taurus for about 4 months now. Drorve it about 2000 miles a month, plus trip from NC to Toronto and back. I'm 6' and 200 # and don't feel cramped at all. Drives smooth, quiet and good gas mileage.

I was reading wiki (you know how you get off track there), but was looking at Fords buying and selling history. This was a huge money loser. Jag bought for 2.28 b Land Rover bought for 2.9 b Volvo bought for 6.5 b Jag and land rover sold for 1.7b Volvo sold for 1.5 b Yikes, thats a 8.48b loss.

As for the cars on the list, I think the Taurus looks the best from the front. I still think its butt looks a little big. I think the new Impala and Lacrosse are good looking cars. Impala is much improved inside and out vs last version which was very plain looking. I never was a big fan of the 300/Charger. I test drove a Charger, and sitting in the back seat was real tight. I'm 6'0" 195 and don't feel cramped in the Taurus at all. U think the Avalon is boring, my uncle has one and he really likes it though.

I got brave and just used warm water and microfiber rag. it came clean real nice.

Not sure of why the hate of the Flex. The styyling is polarizing, but functionally its great. We have a 2005 Freestar, adn the Flex was the car my wife loved at tehc ar show in the spring. Cost is a bit much even used.

I bought a used 2013 SEL. Does anyone have cleaning product recommendations for the cloth seats? This was used, so there are a few spots I want to clean. These cloth seats are more nylon type material. The company I sued to work for had escapes as company vehicles, and they had similar cloth seats in the xls that if you got water no them they stained. So as the Taurus material seems similar I want to be careful.

I bought a 2013 SEL about 6 weeks ago. It I silver. I drove from NC to Toronto last week. Great, quiet ride. Best mpg was 30.3, the others ranged from 27.3 to 29.2. Happy with that. I really like the low aggressive look. The seats are comfortable. If I could just figure out how to sync my phone so I could talk hands free, and play Pandora and game day audio (mlb) I would be good. I also cant seem to post a picture.

I got my owners manual yesterday. Got the admin key fixed last week. Still need to figure a few things out on the sync, but its getting close. I really like it. When comparing I drove a 2013 Impala, and this is head and shoulders above that. Leaving to drive from NC to Toronto and back soon. Should be a good trip with the "new to me" Taurus.

Good news. The place I bought the car from is sending out the ford key guy to give me a new key and reprog the old one (wipe out the current my key). I should be ale to drive over 70 on the way home! ( with Raleigh traffic that is not an issue on the way home just to work.)

I bought a former rental (2013 Taurus SEL). No admin key, and I'm limited to 70 mph. How do I reset with out admin key?

no admin key. this was a rental, all I have is the "my key". When I go to settings with this key in ignition there are no my key options. I need an option to reset without admin key.

I bought a used 2013 Taurus SEL this weekend. It silver, cloth seats. I like it. It was a rental. Is it best to order the owners manual thru Ford, or is Amazon ok? Need to learn the reprogam my key, as the car is set to go no faster that 80. How do you do that?

Looking at getting a 13/14 used Taurus. 07 Explorer has 206,000 miles, so about ready for something new. Driving 30-40 minute highway commute, so looking for a good /quiet ride. I test drove a new 15 Limited Taurus, and really liked it. Anything to look out for, or cautions?

I have a 2007 Explorer Eddie Bauer V6. It has 198,000 miles. The transmission seems to be slipping in 2nd and 3rd gear. gets up to 3000 rpm before it shifts. runs fine in 5th on highway. could this be torque convertor or something else /worse. My wife had her 2005 Free Star torque convertor replaced under recall. The explorer is not worth a whole lot with the amount of miles I have, so I m not going to spend a lot on it. any ideas?

7 years old on Dec 26. just about to 195,000 miles.
