  1. The 3.5 TT is pretty cool, but with Porsche and the Nissan GTR both having 6 cylinders, i was hoping that Ford would put something more exotic in the GT. A 3.0 V8 TT (two 1.5 L) or a 3.2 V8 TT (two 1.6 L) or a 4.0 TT (two 2.0 L).
  2. So if Ford now has a 1.5 i-4 does that mean we will see a 2.2 V6 and a 3.0 V8. And for 2.0 will we see a 3.0 V6 and a 4.0 V8. And the 1.0 i-3, will there be a 2.0 V6. Or these engines would be too small for NA use, even with Ecoboost power. Would make sense if the engines could share the majority of their components.
  3. I'm not dissing the Taurus, I own a 2008 SEL. I was just comparing the straight line performance. I know there is no comparison with all that you have mentioned above i.e. safety, braking, comfort etc. I went to trade my in the other day and the Ford sales guy said Taurus is considered a rental car and it does not hold it's value very well. He offered me less that $4000 for my 2008 with 137,000 Km/86,000 miles. Hope the update the SHO with over 400 HP and with an 8 speed soon.
  4. Imagine that, a 2013 Taurus with 288 HP run from 0-60 takes 6.6 sec. Back in 1989, a Taurus SHO with 220 HP can also run from 0-60 in 6.6 sec. In 25 years wheres the progress. My rant for of the day.
  5. These cars should be RWD and optional AWD. With an 8-Speed Transmission. If not, Ford are just wasting their time. The Fusion is almost the same size as these cars, so they have become redundant in the marketplace. Don't get me wrong, I love these cars and I would still buy one over the Fusion. For 2015 I would like to see the upcoming 2.3 Ecoboost as the base motor and optional 3.5 Ecoboost and 5.0. Ford is playing second fiddle to GM and Chrysler with their large RWD cars, it's time Ford up it's game and give us true die hard fans something to be excited about. I've been a Ford fan since 1987 and now I want a new car, but I'm too excited about what Ford has to offer. I really wanted a Taurus SHO or MKS Ecoboost but now that the Fusion is the same size, I don't see the point of these cars. Ford, I hope you are listening and give the Ford fans what they are asking for. For years, we crave to have the awesome Falcon over in NA, but that will never happen. But the GM guys and Chrysler guys to have bragging rights with the V8 and RWD. I can see myself buying a BMW next.
  6. More power from the 1.6 and 2.0. There should be a AWD 3.7 sport, or a AWD SHO version. 1.6 = 200 HP and 215 FPT 2.0 = 280 HP and 300 FPT
  7. I will start by guessing the GT350 will be powered by the same: 5.8 S/C with 700 HP and 650 F/T or 5.0 S/C with 650 HP and 600 F/T or 5.0 TT with 700 HP and 650 F/T or 5.0 DI with 550 HP and 500 F/T or 3.5 TT with 500 HP and 550 F/T
  8. Hello does anyone know if you can put a double din stereo in a 2005 Lincoln LS. Most sites I visit says no. If anyone has changed their stereo to a double din, please let me know. Thank yoi.
  9. See below from Autoline Detroit, is this a April Fool's joke. "Meanwhile, over at Ford, with sales, market share and profits on the rise, Chairman Bill Ford Jr. as well as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and President, Alan Mulally, announced that the company is willing to pay off the loans both General Motors and Chrysler still owe the Federal Government – in full. Of course, in exchange, the Dearborn automaker would receive seats on both company’s boards as well as on the government’s Automotive Task Force and the National Security Council. A cabinet position for Ford Executive Mark Fields apparently is also part of the deal."
  10. I remember that: the Enzo ran 3.3 0-60 and 11.00 @ 134 1/4 mile The Carerra GT ran 3.4 0-60 and 11.01 @ 132 1/4 mile The GT ran 3.3 0-60 and 11.2 @ 131 1/4 mile Some other magazines had the GT at 11.6, 11.8. I read that most guys who knows how to drive says they can get 10.7 to 10.8 with slicks on a GT500. Don't know about the SS, I would think it's a 9 second car with slicks. If the SS makes 635 at the wheels and the ZR1 makes 505 at the wheels, the SS should walk away from the ZR1 after the 1/4 mile (once you get some traction). Same for the awd GT-R. I agree the GT500 is king.
  11. Looks good, but for some reason, I reminds me of a Dodge Charger. But I would buy one. Good job.
  12. See this link for better pictures. http://www.fordclassic.ca/fiesta/#
  13. Can someone do a chop of a front of D2C platform (Mustang) and a D3 platform (AWD Taurus/MKS). I wonder if anyone at Ford actually tried to do this, make the DS a RWD car by utilizing the front of a Mustang and attaching the front clip to a DS AWD platform, to get a RWD sedan with independent rear suspension.
  14. Here is my take on the Panther vs. D3. I had a 1996 Crown Victoria then got a 1998 Grand Marquis LS. The GM was a much better car than the CV. I traded in the GM last year and got a 2008 Taurus SEL. For me the GM was a softer, quieter riding car on the highway. The Taurus is a better car in the city due to it's better handing. The rear leg room in the Taurus is way bigger than the GM, but the GM had better room up front, especially in the foot well. Although the Taurus is pretty heavy it doesn't feel solid like the RDW GM, that car was pretty solid when cruising at 70 mph. I drove it 7 times from Toronto to NY City (600 Miles) and it was so comfortable. I only drove the Taurus from Toronto to Pennsylvania last year it was ok, but the GM was a better car on long trips. If Ford had dropped the 4.6 (3 Valve, 292 Hp and the 6 speed) from the Explorer in the Panther, the GM would of been the car for me. Actually the Town Car with the 6" stretch and the 4.6, 6 Speed is the one I would of gotton. Ford should of dropped the 4.6,3 Valve, 292 Hp and the 6 speed on the Panther platform and added the Taurus body on top of it.
  15. I live in Ontario and I checked the yellow pages and the phone # is: 519-637-3673 1012 Talbot Street , St Thomas , ON N5P 1G3 I went on this tour in 2005 and it was pretty kool. The factory is outdated and at that time they made 1200 cars/per day. It's down to one shift now I think. They had CV, CV cabs, CV Cabs Stretched for NY, CPI, GM, GM for Saudi Arabia and middle east. It was a nice tour, I was thinking too bad they didn't make the Falcon here.
  16. See this link, this guy is really confused between the MKS and MKZ(Zepher). Imagine the common guy on the street will have no clue what is the difference between the two. http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2009/06/14/465766.html
  17. The effect of this: GM $ 0.89 +0.14 (+18.27%) 203,697,953 Market Cap. .54 Billion Ford $ 6.09 +0.34 (+5.87%) 57,878,141 Market Cap: 17.49 Billion
  18. Actually I seen a lot of them. I live about 20 minutes from the Oshawa plant that makes them. And I seen a lot of them on the road. one day I was driving west (towards Detroit) and I must of seen about 5 truck loads of Slowmaro's/Crapmaro's, must all be on the way for the US. Kindly of ugly when compared to the Mustang, even the Charger is better looking in my opinion. And with 422 Hp and only .2 seconds faster to 60 than a 315 Hp Mustang, buyers will be every disappointed. The 5.0 will be eating a lot of Slowmaro's/Crapmaro's for breakfast and lunch. 20 years ago I had an 87 Mustang GT 5.0 and had a plaque on my license plate IROC EATER, it used to get Slowmaro's/Crapmaro's guys so mad. But then again, they could do nothing about it.
  19. I think it will be VW, Toyota, Ford in the next year. In two or three years, it will be hyundai in # 4.
  20. I would of like to seen the following for 2010. Base 3.5 V6 275 HP LX/SVO 2.5EB 300 HP GT 5.0 V8 400 HP Boss 6.2 450 HP Shelby GT350, 3.5EB, 350 HP Shelby GT500, 5.4, 550 HP
  21. I have a question to the experts out there. Is it possible to have a FWD chassis that offers AWD like the Taurus/MKS, drive 100 % of the power to the real wheels only. So have it totally by-pass the front wheel and send all the power to the rear permanently. Just curious, as the said the RWD platform is on hold, couldn't this the cheapest way to have a RWD platform.
  22. I would say one generation for the Camaro (3-4 years), Challenger, 2 to 3 model years. Unless the economy changes. But it's anyone's guess. I hope the stay around so Ford can make the Mustang better, with no competition, it will die as well.
  23. I realy doubt in the real word this car will get 29 MPG. Wiht a 2.2 Four, maybe yes.
  24. I hope this is not true that the 4.4 has been cancelled. If it's true looks like Ford is back to it's old way of thinking and not giving people what they want but rather making products what people don't need. They have a chance to take a lead in this segment and now that's going to go to waste. Looks like they will be in Washington and Ottawa soon asking for bailout money. They should of had a modular line-up of Diesels: 4.4 V8 for F-150, F-250, Expedition, Navigator, E-Series, motor homes 3.3 V6 for Taurus, Edge, Flex, Explorer, Transit, F-150, Ranger, MkX, MKS, MKT 2.2 I-4 for Focus, Fusion, Milan, MkZ, Escape/Kuga, Mariner, Transit 6.7 V8 for F-250 and up, E-Series 5.0 V6 F-150, F-250, Expedition, Navigator, E-Series, motor homes, etc.
  25. Ford should do this the current Panther. I like this one.
