  1. They are all the same across the board...artistic/styling side of auto design is just gone....want "cool"....spend the clams for "uniqeness"....fords issue is derelict interior appointment sub-planted with cheap plastic....atp's are fine but but you must have the product to support that price level and ford simply does not..ford is a shift adrift with no clear direction on how the fix the sail.....
  2. What is being done is trading one pollution source for another (BEV)...
  3. Toyota is waiting on BEV which is a very smart move...yota dam well has a handle on the current tech..the rush to BEV can be an indicator of auto manuf financial health...smart play is still to sit on the side lines and see how it all shakes-out (then pounce)
  4. You simply do not get any value compared to cost...its where (interior) ford is taking a beating....
  5. The interior is done right....ford simply cannot get an interior done right...i like the mazda cx5 interior as well but want to still see mazda integrate the tv screen...the "flow" just does not work well for me visually with the pop-up tv....jeep should sell many
  6. Should be no surprise...entry level offering (cuv/suv) at $30k are atrocious and it requires cash on hood from ford to move....
  7. The interior seems pleasing and not "over worked"....refreshing to my eye is the center console in addition too the manual transmission....exterior is something akin to a taste for raw snails.....exterior sans "trunk" would have been my prefered design route
  8. The exterior of the escape is decent but leaning bland...the interior is just garbage compared to what else is out there...the idea of believing former ford car buyers would migrate to higher priced, dismal at best lower-end suv's seems to have been fanciful thought by ford marketing....the lower end offerings from ford are 10 steps below the competition and the increased price has placed those offerings squarely in what the hell is ford thinking territory...dam that product just reeks "pontiac"of the 80's..too much garbage-cheap-plastic in the interior was asnine thought
  9. I cant believe an excuse for that heinous, boring as hell product is "lacking trim pieces"...cheap-plastic-direction by ford is worrisome
  10. The product is "too soft" for a truck...this current design philosophy has permiated throughout the product mix....it is simply not "youthful"....the product out the barn door at ford i am seriusly questioning as even being "below average"....it just junk and ford needs to begin to take quality seriously...
  11. Ice nailed it, add a skid plate and cheap as hell body cladding and the genie gives it off road prowess...ford is chicken shit on design right now....clearly designed for aging baby boomers who are a week away from the county geriatric facility....ford needs to put truck nutz on every bland as hell model to show they have not lost a pair
  12. Hardtop is the better choice for daily driver.....no way i would buy a soft top for daily driver
  13. 1974??...briggs and stratton went on strike....end result is japan dominated small engines....whats worse is the dam things ran and started....if a japan engine can run a push-mower and i dont have to fret about it then lets give there cars a try....motorcycle guys knew the 73 cr250...honda motorcycles never looked back after 73...there stuff runs reliably....lawn-mowers and motorcycles....it created an instant customer loyal base
  14. It is a unibody (BS)...quit trying to upscale the robust angle....hopefully, after initial wave ford will not have to put cash on the hood to move product...another issue is with loaded models you are in range of a heep rubicon...be interesting to see how warranty claims go with buyers (or 16 year old kids) who think you are sitting on a frame...
  15. Battery plants?????...look to the epa.....the problem is at times the political situation in the congo (cobalt - lithium).....standard lead battery for auto of which only 2 manufacturers remain (johnson controls and exide).....lead smelters of which there may not be one left in the usa (yea, epa again - cost to everything)....nothing grows free on trees....there is always ramifications for replacement technology as well
  16. Escape is "banal"....remains to be seen if BS can garner a piece of "lifestyle"......
  17. Interior looks "busy" and "compacted".... never did hold much interest in acura branded products....as indicated above, honda badged product pretty much negates any reason to lay down more cash
  18. Always start turbo based engines "COLD"....just a whiff of white smoke out back - immediately run away....
  19. It remains to be seen if BS can take the punishment in the real world...it is a premium escape (with aprops cheap intetior - which is fine if ford had built the thing right) with awd...damn good axles would have gone a long way
  20. A "Molly Ringwald" edition bronc baby 2 is still not enuff to force me to ever purchase a baby 2.....the last real bronc was built in '77.....
  21. Looks like a subaru brat....just add plastic cladding
  22. At least you were honest the mall cruiser is a guised--up escape
  23. End of the day...still an escape..."clutch packs" and associated ilk grants concern that we are not looking at a new focus type "halo effort" to circumvent warranties
  24. 2 door "sport" is what i would buy....needs a v6 though and no electronic crap along with dana 44's...hopefully heep responds on the unlimited (2 door)....
