  1. Deafsoundguy, you are so right , a lot of crazy drivers in Albq. I'm about 4 hours southwest but I drive through Rio Rancho on my way to Salt Lake City. I plan my trips to avoid "rush hour" up there.
  2. New Mexico is now 4% sales tax on the difference between purchase price and trade in. $75 for registration/transfer fee (license plate belongs to the human, not the vehicle) i say now bc dems have a majority in both houses, was 3% previously to this year.
  3. We have been discussing this on the "Hitch Cover" thread. Check out the installation video on autostopeliminator.com. You can install a plug and play device on the Aviator for $100, 5 min installation and the device remembers your last setting and will automatically default to that on each ignition cycle. I'm ordering their device for my mothers MKC, it plugs into the OBD port but works the same.
  4. Yes, thank you for the link. I will order one from AutoStopElinminator for my mothers MKC, she already dislikes the auto start/stop and she's only had the car for a week. I thought she would have problems with the push button transmission, she says to me "it's no different then my 1960 Dodge Dart I had" ?
  5. Is the trailer harness plug set back far enough where you can have the hinged plug cover open and still have the bumper cover installed? I ask because I believe if the car thinks there is a trailer connected, the auto stop/start is disabled. So installing a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter may "fool" the car, even if you had to install a jumper to run a light when you stepped on the brakes and just tuck that light up under the bumper so it's out of sight may solve the auto stop/start issue for those of us that don't like it and don't want to go through the menu every ignition cycle. 6. Thanks. Good to know, I don't remember the exact price he wanted to charge, was north of $3k. We never purchase extended warranties but it's good to know we have options especially with all of the technology in cars today.
  7. Don't like it either, but being in a rural area we have limited choices. We have two dealerships, each 60 miles away our next option is El Paso TX, 100 miles away. I know one of our near by dealerships is one you don't want to deal with leaving us with the one we purchased from. So we will need to have the vehicle serviced there. If I come home with a Black Label Nautilus or Aviator in a few weeks I will need this same dealership to service mine. No Black Label dealers in New Mexico so need to go out of state.
  8. Thank you all. The warranty guide was not included with the owners manual packet, I should have just downloaded it, which I have done now. It didn't sound right to me but I asked him to clarify it and I heard him correctly. This was during the push to purchase the extended warranty so I guess part of the sales pitch to encourage you. Mom loves the car, she can see out of it which was a problem with the '17 Acadia's side mirrors blocking her vision and it leaving her stranded 3 times now...3 strikes, your out. We drove the Mazda CX-5 and the Honda CR-V. She liked the CX-5, had sight problems with the CR-V but when she got into the Lincoln she fell in love...and in front of the salesman tells me we'll take this one...so much for negotiations but at 80+ years of age oh well
  9. My mother just took delivery of a new MKC today. The finance manager explained to us that the tech items in the car, ie touch screen, backup camera, ect is only covered by a 1yr/12k mile warranty, not the 4/50 bumper to bumper. Anyone else been told this? Black Labels included? I will be traveling to San Diego in a couple of weeks for Thanksgiving and intend on bringing back a BL Nautilus or Aviator.
  10. Just 6 weeks ago, Witt Lincoln in San Diego had at least a dozen BL's on hand. For a couple of weeks no change in the inventory, I contacted a Tucson BL dealer (New Mexico doesn't have a BL dealer) and Witt agreed to send one to Tucson at x-plan pricing but not the vin I asked for. Did not pull the trigger on it for a number of reasons and worked out for the best bc it would not have enough cargo room for my travels. My current Acadia just has enough so the smaller Nautilus just wouldn't work. 3 weeks later, no BL's on hand, amazing. Did try the Aviator, loved it. In person it doesn't look as large as the numbers would indicate. The Dynamic Handling Package dropped it to a level where my mother could get into it without any trouble. So my perfect Aviator BL is in Irvine CA, $85K ouch Pic courtesy of rmc523
  11. ice-capades, Thank you. I've been waiting patiently to see the changes for 2020. ?
  12. Thanks mustangchief. At 13 inches we have a lot of room to play with. Looks like I'll be waiting for the initial demand to subside then see if i can get one with the x-plan.
  13. Thank you. Yes the air glide is what I was referring to by the Aviator kneeling. The Acadia's door sill is 18.5" in height, seat 29". If the Aviator is near this level it should work just fine. I'm hoping : )
  14. Agree, I thought the review was fair. I don't believe we have a BL dealer in New Mexico, looking at San Diego bc of on hand inventory (Nautilus). I like the BL not bc of "benefits" but because of interior color choice. Just tired of the same old black, gray and tan and all of the hard plastics. That's why I love the Aviator, but don't think my elderly mother can get into it easily bc of step in height, (based on old Explorer) need to check out it's "kneeling" height. If anyone can give me a kneeling height, ground level to top of front passenger door sill and seat cushion I would appreciate it. Thanks, Steve
  15. Does anyone know if any Black Label is available with the X-Plan? Sure do like the interior of the BL's vs the Reserve, leaning towards the Nautilus due to size, think the Aviator may be larger than what I need. Waiting for one to arrive at local dealership (60 miles away) to check size. My closest BL dealer is over 200 miles but good selection of BL Nautilus' are San Diego and Dallas, 650 and 750 miles respectively. Hate to break in a vehicle like that.
  16. When is the new interior design (aka: Corsair/Aviator) due for the Nautilus? Will Lincoln wait until 2023?
  17. Guy's, does anyone know of a web site that provides the design details of the Aviator's 3.0 TT engine? Not looking for EV details. Thanks in advance. Steve
  18. I am probably on the far end of the spectum for softer rides. Would like to push mfg's to nicer, quieter rides though. I never did have a problem putting those big cars through a corner, yes tires would holler a bit, well quite a bit, you just needed to pay attention and know how to drive. Perhaps this is due to learning how to drive in a 1973 LTD Country Squire wagon. I would be driving the MKX today if my dealership was cooperative. They refused to order a 2018 while three 2017's were sitting on their lot. I went across the street and bought the 2017 Acadia, I already liked them, have the SLT2 so have all the bells and whistles. My mother has had one for a year at that time so was very familiar with the ride qualities and because of that I had the dealership swap the 20" standard SLT2 wheels with the 18" wheels from the SLT1. Goes from 55 series to 65 series tires which puts the ride just a notch under the MKX, but then for $15 to $20K savings worked out just fine.
  19. I do like the Ford front end. Looking forward to an AWD 2 door variant. Can anyone verify that the possible North American 2022 Courier is the P758 platform? I say possible because the magazine articles I have read don't say for sure this is going to happen.
  20. Just FYI, we have a new "Courier" forum under the Ford Product Discussion Forums. Would love to hear what others have to say about a new Ranchero.
  21. We have a new "Courier" forum to discuss the possible North American unibody 2022 Courier. This may be the P758 platform that has been discussed on this board.
  22. Posted 16 September 2018 - 11:52 AM Hope the looks are closer to these: https://www.motor1.c...pickup-renders/
