That's not how it works friend. The rank and file, by giving authorization via a strike vote are entrusting that the negotiation teams are acting in their best interest....you may not agree, but that is what it is.

The strike vote is a vital tool that the rank and file gives to their negotiation team to call a strike if the negotiations tank. Now, again, as I have said before, the "final offer" should be presented to the rank and file and if the rank and file rejects it, it will give the negotiation team more bite at the table. But, admittedly, I do not know the what the minimum "floor" at the table would be to actually bring back to said rank and file.

The rank and file membership voted FOR a strike....why would they ignore it? However, with that said, the "final offer" should go out for a ratification vote. If it gets voted down, THEN start your strike action.

I can remember when unleaded gas was introduced in the 1970's there was a "cheat" so that you could put leaded gas into unleaded cars - an adapter that you put on the larger diameter pipe of a leaded gas fuel dispenser nozzle so that it would fit onto the smaller diameter nozzle of the unleaded dispenser so that you could then fit it into the restricted filler neck of the "unleaded gasoline only" vehicle. Or, some people would just cut the restriction out of the filler neck altogether.

I was thinking about why Ford would kill off Escape and then thought, if they kill off Escape and come out with an SUV based on Maverick AND build it at Hermosillo along side Maverick, it may be the replacement Ford can use to replace both Escape and Transit Connect sales.

My local dealer has one "in transit" in Forged Green...told them to put my name on it when it comes in. I am interested.
