Neither, just regular over-the-air TV. I don’t see the point of paying for garbage when they’re broadcasting plenty of it for free…

I’ve lost count of how many different car warranty companies I’ve seen advertised. They’re almost all using celebrity spokespeople, so I figure they’re making really good money, which is the first sign that it’s got to be a bad deal for the consumer.

I forget what I was watching the other day, but I saw a Ford ad playing up their improved quality. Heck, it’s the only Ford commercial I’ve seen recently—apparently, the channels I watch are popular with the old folks, ‘cause mostly what I see are Medicare Advantage commercials and AI slop targeting old folks for auto insurance and home warranties. (I swear, the old folks auto insurance commercials are bad—one “old lady” is saying she only drives to the grocery store, but none of the “people” in the background are at all surprised to see her parking in the produce section…)

Seems like we have a Canadian Navy vet or two here ( @Hugh, maybe?) who might be interested in this.

There seems to have been a bit of that going around. Earlier this year, Josh Smith of the Montana Knife Company said they lost an entire run of Magnacut knives because they sent them out for heat treatment and the place doing the job screwed it up. That might also be a contributing reason why they have heat-treating facilities in their new factory…

My brother filled up at the Costco in Owasso/N. Tulsa on Saturday for $2.96/gal for E10/87, and the Owasso Sam’s had the same fuel for the same price. The Costco on the other side of town (16 miles away) was listed at $3.75 for the same fuel. I paid $3.71/gal for E10/87 at the west Tulsa Sam’s on Saturday evening.

Durability standard for F-150 was 250K miles last I heard. 150K miles was for cars.

I can’t go along with you there. He was fired for doing something that he verifiably did not do, then found another job. Dunno about you, but if a company calls me a thief and a liar then fires me without proof, there’s not a chance in hell I’m going back to work for them, especially if I’m already working for someone else. The company deserves to get smacked hard for this.

It’s like when Ford got caught in the Chicken Tax shenanigans with the Transit Connect—did Ford get to go after its customers to recover all those back taxes and penalties it owed the gov’t, or did it just have to eat those costs?

If you think PAG failed because Ford didn’t want competition for Lincoln, you need to unlearn what you have learned in error. The PAG debacle nearly killed Lincoln, and I’m not entirely certain that killing Lincoln wasn’t the point of Nasser’s plan. There was a red-headed stepchild in that mess, and it was decidedly NOT Jag, Aston, LR, or Volvo.

Tell me you don’t actually know what happened without telling me you don’t actually know what happened…

I paid $3.19/gal for E10/87 at the Sam’s on Mingo in Tulsa earlier this evening.

Of my first 12 vehicles, only two had slushboxes. My last four have all had slushboxes, and it still aggravates me that I can’t get a manual transmission in a modern half-ton. At least my tractors still have gearboxes…

Bubba, you ain’t close to the middle of nowhere. That’s out in west Texas, somewhere between Seymour and Lubbock. My mom’s maternal relations were from Post, TX. I’m pretty sure the directions to get there are “go to the end of the world and hang a left.”

It was still $3.14/gal at the Sam’s on Mingo when I stopped to fill up on Friday evening after work.

I paid $2.97/gal for E10/87 while I was in Norman on Sunday. It was $3.14/gal at the Sam’s on Mingo in Tulsa.

They might not announce that it’s from Chy-na, but they should at least announce that the model is continuing.
