  1. Taurus has been known to be going away for at least 2 years. 2018 was actually supposed to be its last year but they delayed it because of Jim Hackett reviewing everything. Same situation with the Fiesta. Chicago is getting the new Lincoln Aviator and a brand new Explorer next year. They will be fine. As for the Continental Im not buying a word of it. Not a single publication has published any credible evidence backing up their claims. And no, Motor Trend isnt credible, they are entertainment, and barely at that. I know all about your quality issues there. I spent a year there when I got laid off when MAP eliminated 3rd shift in 2015 so Ive witnessed it firsthand and I have a good friend who is full time there who tells me all about the stupidity that still goes on. The fact that management isnt doing shit about it surprises me even less. It sounds like Theyre giving you just enough rope to hang yourselves with so when the next new product comes around they can justify putting it somewhere else. Thats how these things work and it happened here at MAP too. Thats part of the reason Ford steadfastly refuses to bring 2 shifts back for the Ranger until the Bronco launches, whenever the hell that ends up being, even if demand ends up being higher than estimated. The only thing stopping them from importing the Ranger to begin with is the chicken tax, because theres already 2 plants worldwide that already build it.
  2. I just read it too. Lends credence to them being way behind. For them being potentially 18 months away from production and they havent moved past clay models and still contemplating potentially major design changes is not a good sign.
  3. Take this with a huge grain of salt, but my friend in Livonia said to me today they are indeed way behind on the Bronco and its probably going to wind up being a 2021 model
  4. Chicago has nothing to worry about And 2019 is not the last year of the Continental. Stop buying into rumors.
  5. Its the first official confirmation of all the stuff you mentioned as being speculation prior to today. Not everyone reads Internet forums. wow yeah it is.... it was initially supposed to launch Q3 2019.
  6. way too early to tell. I still dont believe its 3 shifts worth of production unless a 3rd vehicle comes in.
  7. Im starting to think that the rumored delay was either not as long as thought or they got everything back on track and up to speed. Still no word from MAP launch team on when it might be good to go. My guess is now Q4 2019.
  8. They said 2 and 4 door which is what I was told was being considered 2 years ago Yay accurate sources!
  9. I would rather not seeing as theyre CAD drawings. Sorry. Im not wealthy by any means so I have to flaunt something to keep up with you high rollers
  10. I know nothing of powertrains being considered, only what it looks like That said based on todays release and what theyve said in the past, I think at the very least its safe to expect a hybrid option.
  11. Autoblog has what I think is the most comprehensive summary of todays releases https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/15/ford-baby-bronco-explorer-st-mustang-gt500/
  12. theoretically I could have shown you all much more than that 6 months ago but I value my job (as well as my source)
  13. This is literally the first Ive heard about it.
  14. sorry but when they said the Escape was all new for MY2012 and the Explorer was MY2013 I stopped reading. When did fact checking cease to exist?
  15. pfft, its a few years old now. Too old to be flauntable
  16. At least we know Lincoln will be addressing that problem with the Aviator in 12-18 months. Havent heard anything from Cadillac regarding that yet.
  17. The Detroit news article said something about releasing some of the information to the public at the end of the quarter. I personally dont expect to really see anything meaningful.
  18. Thats not what tomorrows presentation is about. Youre going to have to wait until the official reveal for that. Edit: whats up with the board not acknowledging apostrophes and quotations lately?
  19. As irritating as it can be, I agree. Stick to half years. The absolute most specific they should get us quarterly but that should be reserved for closer to launch. Late 2018 was perfect for Ranger (except they messed up by saying it almost 2 years in advance) but Coming Soon like they did for Mach 1 and Bronco is absolutely unacceptable.
