  1. I would recommend finding a 2012 or newer focus, Or 2013 or newer C-Max or Escape. The outside door handles are identical, and the internal latches are identical in all ways but size, and they are ridiculously easy to take off the door. Just don't use a model that has the keyless ignition, the wires are really hard to disconnect from the latch assembly.
  2. I believe this is what pioneer was talking about when he said that the next Focus will "use aluminum extensively"
  3. Why 3 when you could have 4
  4. Welcome! I'm an employee at MAP, my first post here was in the employee forum. Most of us that post there are pretty good at weeding out the trolls and posers. You should be fine, the mods pick out the ones that get missed.
  5. Their job is to find stuff to bitch about, and as TTAC proved, some are willing to blatantly lie about it. People are more willing to latch onto the negative over the positive.
  6. There's strong rumors of that happening with the next-gen Focus for MY2017/18. Its even been hinted at by several people on this very site outside of myself
  7. The fact they are built at the same plant is irrelevant. They are built on completely separate lines and have a completely different build process.
  8. hasn't Toyota been doing that in Japan with Lexus? What about Honda with Acura?
  9. It's simple, their BMW chaser formula isn't working. Besides, I'm using GM logic here
  10. In other words, exactly what we've all been saying for months now!
  11. The reason the plant has been idled is because in their infinite wisdom, GM massively overproduced the versions of the CTS/ATS that people don't want (2.0T) which they are already overcharging for and are still very reluctant to put any incentives on them. The only thing they can do to bring the ATPs up to where they should be to make the platform profitable is another redesign that hopefully people will buy.
  12. They didn't bother changing any of it with the refresh. It's the only trim level that was completely unchanged
  13. The light would be a wrench on top of a gear. At my last job before I started at Ford my work van was a 2011 Transit Connect and it had a very similar problem. The electronics in the throttle body failed and it got stuck closed. Might be a similar problem here.
  14. The more shocking part of that is Mazda 6 being 4th. Always thought it was generally looked at as worse after gen 1
  15. and in the name of jeebus PLEASE don't give the blandest style in the history of anything styled like some current EVs. I'm looking at you Focus Electric!
  16. Is that an average? I don't understand it, how about a link to the article
  17. You don't live in Michigan, do you? Road salt and the worst roads in the country killed those things. I see them all the time with the bottoms rusting out. It happened to my fiance's before she traded it in, it was weeks away from dropping the passenger seat out of it. The drivetrains however, were bulletproof. Mine and hers both made it to 150k miles with little trouble beyond normal wear and tear type stuff, though mine had a seemingly unusual appetite for alternators.
  18. As long as the bodies didn't fall apart around them, particularly the ZX2s.
  19. Playing games because it's a contract year maybe?
